HE IS PRO-LIFE!
This is also something I do not agree with. I know he stands against abortion, and abortion is the primary issue. But it is not the only issue. It is not even the only pro-life issue. So be astonished. Perhaps the RNC will find a better candidate next time.
I don’t think he knows what the term actually means. He is what he thinks is pro-life. He might have even learned “how to be pro-life” from his time as a democrat because he’s the embodiment of a democrat “anti-abortion” caricature.

Legislation and a judge is awesome for now but if it comes at the expense of no one taking us seriously again for a generation well…that MIGHT be worth it but I’m not sold.

I hope that I don’t come across here as an anti-Trump crusader, because that is not my intention when I contribute to the political threads. While it’s true I hope that Trump does not win a second term, I also do understand the reasons why my fellow Catholics and Americans vote for him. It is not my intention here to dissuade them, but only to respond to those threads which incorrectly state that a Catholic cannot in good conscience vote for Biden.

When someone starts a thread with the opinion of a particular priest, theologian or bishop that tells us we cannot vote for Biden, I feel it is important to show that there are also priests, theologians and bishops who teach that a vote for Biden is indeed an acceptable option.

I also pray for a peaceful end to this election, no matter who wins.

a vote for Biden is indeed an acceptable option.
First, President Trump might be the most actively pro-life/pro-religious-liberty President in American history. Secondly, Biden/Harris might be the most pro-abortion/anti-religious-liberty President/VP candidate team in American history.
If Biden wins, and if the Democrats win the Senate and House, we will experience the following:
  • the elimination of pro-life doctors and other pro-life businesses, as doctors and their assistants will be forced to participate in abortion, and Christian bakers and others are forced to participate in un-Christian-like activity
  • Federal Judges who suppress the right for Christians to live our faith and who invent their own laws from the bench
  • forcing Catholic organizations to hire those who publicly live lives in contradiction of the faith
  • reduction in charter schools
  • onerous homeschooling restriction
  • eliminate your Blue Cross, Independent Health, and other private health insurance
  • rationing of healthcare, lower quality, long wait times
  • an increase in poverty with unnecessary business regulations
  • crushing regulations forcing rationing of heat/air conditioning and water, reduction in airplanes and cows.
  • increased taxes, as the Biden/AOC/Harris “Green New Deal” has been estimated to cost $94 trillion over the next 10 years, which would be $60,000 per year per household, including adjustments you’d have to make to your house, office buildings, etc.

Joe Biden’s record on abortion:
  • Voted NO on notifying parents of minors who get out-of-state abortions. (Jul 2006)
  • Voted NO on prohibiting minors crossing state lines for abortion. (Mar 2008)
  • Voted NO on criminal penalty for harming unborn fetus during other crime. (Mar 2004)
  • Voted NO on maintaining ban on Military Base Abortions. (Jun 2000)
  • Voted NO on banning human cloning. (Feb 1998)
  • supports the current policy of abortion on demand
  • voted for the Harkin Amendment to endorse Roe v. Wade, permits abortion for any reason.
  • said that he “understood” China’s one-child policy, which resulted in forced abortions and infanticides of unimaginable proportions — hundreds of millions of innocent lives
  • supports using tax dollars to pay for abortion
  • says he will overturn the Hyde Amendment
  • voted for taxpayer funding of overseas pro-abortion organizations
  • Biden’s voting record on pro-life issues was close to zero from 2001 to 2008, according to the National Right to Life Committee.
  • said he will rescind the conscience protection exemption of the Little Sisters of the Poor
Additionally:
  • Biden said he will pass the Equality Act in his first 100 days, which would force schools to allow boys in girls sports and in girls bathrooms
  • Joe Biden said “Transgender issues are the most important civil rights issue of our time”
  • Joe Biden officiated a gay wedding in 2016 inside the vice president’s residence, located at the U.S. Naval Observatory.
  • Joe Biden wants BOTH open borders AND free healthcare for illegal immigrants. Clearly, American taxpayers can’t afford to pay for the entire world’s healthcare
  • will pack the courts with leftist Judges who make their own laws from the bench
  • defended the Chinese communist government in light of its heinous human-rights abuses directly contradicts the principle of human dignity that is the heart of Catholic teaching.
These abuses by the Chinese regime are well known and include forced abortion, the genocide of the Uighur population, and the use of slave labor in manufacturing, just to name a few of the most egregious.
  • in 1991 led the effort granting China “most favored” nation status
  • Announced will reinstate transgenders in military
  • wants public option (taxpayer funded healthcare drive: private insurance will be forced out of business)
  • embraced segregation in 1975 claiming it was a matter of black pride
  • wants Islamic faith taught in public schools, but Christians and Jews can’t teach their faith in public school
  • said he will freeze social security, which would reduce the value of your social security checks
  • said some funding should “absolutely” be redirected from police, amid calls from some in his party to “defund the police” in the wake of the protests across the country.
  • at an MSNBC public education forum, Biden said he would eliminate charter schools if he is elected President. He also opposes school choice for the poor in bad school districts.

No doubt; Biden is bad news on promotion of abortion, and bad news on religious liberty.

And not only is the Joe Biden/Kamala Harris ticket perhaps the most pro-abortion in American history, but President Trump might be the most actively pro-life and pro-religious liberty President in American history. The contrast couldn’t be any more stark.

Some of President Trump’s pro-life liberty actions:
  • Trump Administration strengthens enforcement of federal laws protecting conscience rights of health care workers who refuse to participate in abortion
  • established “Right to Try”, where those with terminal illness have right to attempt experimental drugs in hope of cure
  • PRO-LIFE women’s health centers now receive funds previously earmarked for Planned Parenthood ($60 million) in Title X.
  • appointed over 200 Judges who support life, freedom, and law
  • took action against California & others for violating conscience protections
  • created new Office for Conscience Protection at HHS
  • Executive Order to protect babies born during failed abortions
  • eliminated tax dollars given to abortion providers throughout world by not only reinstating, but also expanding the Mexico City Policy
  • eliminated Obamacare’s abortifacient coverage forced upon churches & other Christian businesses
  • appointed cabinet of many pro-life leaders
  • defunded Pro-Abortion UNFPA which has been complicit in China’s forced birth control and abortion
  • first President to appear at March For Life
Some additional President Trump religious liberty actions:
  • issued an executive order allowing free speech and religious liberty for churches
  • created 1776 Commission to promote patriotic education, and to counter-act the New York Times’ hate-America 1619 Project
  • supports school choice
  • supports girls who do not want to compete against boys who pretend to be girls
  • the Trump administration is moving forward with a policy that expands protections for religious groups on college campuses and threatens to cut federal education funding to colleges that violate free speech rules.

I think it is damaging to the church to pretend certain people are in good standing with the Catholic Church. It plays into the hands of those, many in the church, who wish to see the church either broken or ‘built back better’ or both.

If we are going to be a strong community we cannot be weak enough to not only include these people, but be led by them.

Joe Biden has been in politics for more than 40 years. Can anybody name 2 or 3 things that Joe Biden has done that most helped Americans? Or, one thing?

To anyone that might feel the urge to attempt a list, please don’t waste your time. This. Exact. Question. has been asked in other thread. Exact. As in its almost copy-pasted.

And if you provide an answer what you will get in response is

Just as I suspected. Not very impressive.

Yes.
He left politics in 2016.

He’s back now, so I don’t know if it counts anymore.

Usually such questions are a trap, with every item being challenged. If one cannot see the other side of a question without a list, a list will do not good, as will all attempts at persuasion. Persuasion requires one know both sides.

As it takes two, I would say it is their responsibility. I have a different take on QContinuum’s point about support from the father of the unborn child. I think it totally reasonable that the pregnant woman, have child support to pay for the birth, or in the case of the state paying for it, the AG going after the father for reimbursement.
We already have this - sadly many women will fail to name the father - in fact every woman who applies for support from the government should have to name the father and a paternity test used to verify that the man is the baby’s father - before government begins support … and the government should doggedly pursue that man into the future to recoup the costs … Though they ask the woman now it is voluntary … they do peruse these men for child support … in my state every employer is required to notify the state whenever they hire a new person exactly so they can come after them for judgments - spousal support and child support being the top garnishments on salary.

Funny how the man has no say whatever about whether a child is aborted or not - but you want him to pay … that would be a form of enslavement as the woman can get support for that child.

Abortion is the murder of a human person. That human person has no rights - they are executed with the consent of the state. That is heinous. The unborn child has fewer rights than an unhatched condor egg in America today … contemplate that … the unhatched condor is protected by law and the penalties for ending the life of that condor still situated in the egg shell are severe.

Many say they do not want to impose their values on others when it comes to abortion. Would they say the same about rape or murder of someone over a year-old?
