Sister Amy, dolphinlove did not say how she was dressed, so you too are falling into the trap of assuming, the same as she did assumed.If you walk around dressed the way a prostitute dresses, should you really be expected to be treated as anything other than a prostitute?
Like you, I wonder how she knew the men who harrassed her were Muslim in anything more than name.
In Cairo our group saw inappropriate behaviour in both the general area and the Christian area. But truly I did not see anything in dolphinlove’s post that showed anything she could have learned about Islam in Cairo. Things she learned about Egyptian men - yes.
We should all remember that there is no way of knowing if a person is faithful to the religion they belong to and avoid generalising (and I just generalised about Egyptian men in the previous sentence).
Although, I must say, I have heard people say it’s best for westerners not to be around some mosques at the end of the Friday midday service. I don’t know, but I have been told this.
