It’s already been elaborated on several times. Both in this thread and at least one other thread.
i am not God and can’t visit all other threads/forums… in the limited time i have available… excuse me for asking…

Soooo I guess all that’s left to do is change your profile…

Are you sure about this Christy74?
I didn’t even think about it really - changing my profile, I mean. Didn’t occur to me. (I don’t know that I know how to do it, but I’ll try)

Yes, I am sure and so excited. I just looked at the clock only a few more hours to go.

I don’t plan on coming back to Catholic Answers. No need to debate doctrine - time to start living it and focusing on my spiritual life which has been neglected as of late while I was hammering all this out - my decision I mean.

Good luck on your journey! I wish Christ’s multiplied peace and blessings on you.

However, I would rethink your decision not to come back here. Us Protestants need the assistance on papal infallibility and the immaculate conception 😃

If you do go, at least send me some spanakopita 🙂

I am in no wise proud of the Western Church, it is mostly dissenters and practical apostates.

In fact, the asceticism of the East puts to shame that of the West. For whereas God is more pleased with the Western sacrifice, I don’t blame Cain for being jealous. The Orthodox priests have suffered horribly and know what it means to follow the Christ. In the West, the priests are fat and wimpy and liberal.

what Our Lady means is, the East needs Peter, and then you can whip our butts into penance.
The East has been doing just fine for the last 1000 years spiritual, liturgically, etc. without Peter.

Per the Encyclical of Pope John Paul II, it seemed pretty clear to me that he thought that the West needed the East, not the other way around.

No need to leave permanently. There are plenty of Orthodox Christians on this forum who are a part of our online community. The Eastern Catholicism forum would be a good place to hang out especially since you will be participating in the same liturgy that many Eastern Catholics use (Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom?)

Why do I feel like you are going for the THELMA and LOUISE ending here Christy?

When the buzz wears off feel free to come home.

they need each other. two lungs. yes.

Thank you for your good wishes!

At least for quite a while I need to soak in the spiritual and theological riches of the Orthodox Faith. :angel1:

In the mean time, read Clark Carlton’s books. He has 4. The Way, The Truth, The Life and The Faith. And Michael Whelton’s books: Popes and Patriarchs, and Two Paths. These will help you in your need for assistance with papal infallibility and immaculate conception.

The Greek Festival is coming up on Labor Day weekend in Sacramento, CA. Come and you can have all the spanakopita you like! 👍

Two Lungs theory was JPII’s. At least I know he taught it. I think it did originate with him, but I could be mistaken.

The Orthodox view of the matter is that the Orthodox is the *full *Church which Rome used to be a part of and hopefully one day will be again.

Christ only established One Church.

One person here has me going to hell and now you have me suicidal. LOL. I know you’re kidding.

I appreciate the offer to go back into union with Rome at some point in the future.

Once someone has experienced the “real thing” there is just no going back. “Ain’t nothin’ like real thing baby. Ain’t nothing like the real thing.”

In Orthodoxy we pray what we believe and we believe what we pray. When the Russian delegates witnessed a Divine Liturgy at Hagia Sophia in Constantinople, they said, “We knew not whether we were in heaven or on earth.”

In a sense, I am leaving earth to go to heaven. There is no way I can leave heaven to come back to earth.

Thanks!

The Catholics are here to assist you on Papal Infallibility and The Immaculate Conception.

Not quite. The East has been doing nothing the last 1000 years spiritual, liturgically, etc, w/o Peter. They are stuck in history because they do not have The Holy Spirit to make sure whatever the pronounce is not pronounced in error. The do not have the authority to change anything, so, they liturgically stagnant.

Anyway, I for one do not feel that you are sincere. You do not love the Orthodox Church, but are very angry towards the Church of Rome. You do not show that you have Love in your heart and a mature will to do this respectfully with dignity and grace. With God’s Grace, this is not how one would act.

I pray for the Orthodox Church to which you are going, that they can help you get over whatever issues you have and I will also pray that you do not drag the building and it’s people (for the Orthodox Church is too strong as a whole) down with you in your bitterness. Your martyr complex here does nobody any good.

God bless you,
Mary keep you,

Actually, from what I’ve been informed all Eastern Orthodox have been banned from going to Eastern Catholic Forum. Roman Catholics often go to that Forum and attack the Eastern Catholics for their beliefs and when the Orthodox consistantly came to their defense, they all got banned. That’s what I was told anyway.

Yes: Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom is used for most of the year. During Great Lent it’s St. Basil’s Divine Liturgy. And on the anniversary of St. James the Apostle, St. James’ Divine Liturgy is used. They are all very beautiful Liturgies. You are welcome to visit an Eastern Church and experience them.

It must be that you have never experienced a Divine Liturgy, because if you had you’d never be able to call it stagnant. It’s so beautiful it’s been called, “heaven on earth”.

Their are no divisions in the Orthodox Church in regards to Theology *because *the Holy Spirit has been protecting it.

It is a wonderful thing that God is the judge of my heart and not you because He knows that I am sincere. That I have no anger towards the Catholic Church nor towards anyone in the Catholic Church.

I’m sorry, but I have no bitterness towards anyone. I’m not sure how anyone experiencing the Liturgies of the Orthodox could ever do so and at the same time harbor bitterness.

Martyr complex? If only one day God would grant me the priviledge to be counted among the martyrs. No one living is a martyr. A martyr is someone who is killed as a witness to the faith. Like the Great Martyr Marina and the Great Martyr Christina. I have absolute control of my senses and I know for a fact that I am not a martyr.

Quite frankly, I don’t know where your accusations are coming from. But that is okay obviously they are coming from some where and if they are coming from something I’ve said or done to cause your misunderstanding, I apologize.

I wish you peace.

Don’t let anything hit you on your way out.
:rotfl:

You sound exactly like my dad when he said the same thing to each of us kids when we reached age 18. That and “The door only swings one way!”

I love it! You must be Italian, too! 👍

It’s amazing to me how those who leave Rome are immediately accused of either one (or both of two things). 1. You didn’t know anything about Catholicism! 2. You have a hatred of Catholicism! The apologetic thought process cannot simply comprehend that someone legitimately disagrees with the teachings of Rome and must instead be defective or psychologically damaged. The arrogance is astounding.
