I suppose the teachers didn’t think their collective bargaining rights and status would assaulted like they are by the legislature … yet here we area.I didn’t say that. I said it is a possible outcome, not that it is just, even with the limitations from within the law. Your reverse scenario is not all that likely. A governor may make laws unfavorable for an industry, but he can’t nationalize it.
I don’t understand the point you’re trying to make. How are unions Jealous if they are protecting the people, you think so many are jealous of? OOO You said American union workers are jealous and greedy. Wanting their rights and safety protected hardly makes anyone jealous or greedy. Some thing tells me, you really wanted to say “Americas poor are just jealous and greedy”.That just puts me one step closer to believing that many modern day American union workers are just jealous and greedy.
.
Rights and safety are fine. The problem is they also want the hard earned cash out of my pocket that I need to fed my family.I don’t understand the point you’re trying to make. It would help if you could cite the faked statistics and show how they were wrong. If there were ever a misinformation campaign in place it was this morning. At 7:05 I decide to change the channel on Morning Joe since the bully governor from New Jersey is saying that the unions buy off politicians. He makes up a number and says this how much it costs the state to …(fill in the blank). I’ve had enough so I turn on C-span. Here is a woman from the Heritage foundation backed by the Koch brothers ( main contributor to the WI governors campaign) and of course unions continue to break the country. No sooner did I digest her intent, that a caller calls in and recites the statistic that Christie just made up. So here it is on another channel so it must be right. Enough of this woman I turn on whatever program is on NBC. Guess who is on? Yes, in ten minutes Christie has made it to the today show. Guess what? Same talking point. Now it’s said on three different stations. Now I start to get upset so I turn on ABC and there’s Rand Paul. He had not gotten the memo yet but unions are still breaking the back of this country.
And you call this the liberal media bias?
A professor at U. Wisconsin has cast some additional light on the situation in Wisconsin, saying that the state was predicting a budget SURPLUS until the Republican majority passed a $117 million tax break for corporations, thereby plunging the state budget into a deep deficit. Now, force state workers to make wage and benefit concessions to make up the shortfall. There’s your income transfer: from state workers to corporations. If there were ever a misinformation campaign in place it was this morning. I’m not going to repeat the bogus information. Go the Heritage Foundation. You can get all the bogus stuff you need.It would help if you could cite the faked statistics and show how they were wrong.
Thank you. This information has been available for at least a week. Where’s the liberal media when you need them?A professor at U. They own the building? Why are these protesters allowed to have sleepovers and beat drums and chant inside the Capitol building ?
Well any taxes paid is cash out of your pocket. So…are you saying you don’t want police, fire protection or any of it?Rights and safety are fine. The problem is they also want the hard earned cash out of my pocket that I need to fed my family.
As taxpayers, they can be said to own it, but even if you don’t acknowledge that, the state authorities aren’t going to make things worse by getting strong arm “enforcers” to eject them from the building. They own the building?
This is a good development. Back in the 70’s and 80’s and even into the 90’s you really had just the liberal/left/Democrat point of view being expressed in the news and in commentary. Eventually cable and talk radio made inroads and helped counterbalance the liberal bias in the media. It is now pretty fair I would say, with Fox countering MSNBC and CNBC, and the major networks (if anyone is still watching those). There are even more moderate or even conservative analysts in the media than before. No longer is the liberal line accepted hook line and sinker. Of course this horrifies liberals who probably long for the days when they had a monopoly on information and the congress was reliably Democrat and their talking points were dutifully regurgitated. Those days are over, thank God.If there were ever a misinformation campaign in place it was this morning. At 7:05 I decide to change the channel on Morning Joe since the bully governor from New Jersey is saying that the unions buy off politicians. I agree. When you get upset that the normal political process goes against you, the only option is to make a fuss. Fine.As taxpayers, they can be said to own it, but even if you don’t acknowledge that, the state authorities aren’t going to make things worse by getting strong arm “enforcers” to eject them from the building.
So you have no idea? Your posts are not very helpful.I’m not going to repeat the bogus information. Go the Heritage Foundation. You can get all the bogus stuff you need.
If the union is for concessions, why all the shouting, threats and protests?Well any taxes paid is cash out of your pocket. So…are you saying you don’t want police, fire protection or any of it?
Actually this union has hinted to concessions…but the governor just wants to take away their right to bargain on benefits and really limit the ability on wages.
At a 3.6 Billion dollar budget hole…your hard earned cash is going to a lot more than that!
“The process of collective bargaining, as usually understood, cannot be transplanted into the public service,” Franklin Roosevelt wrote in 1937 to the National Federation of Federal Employees. Yes, public workers may demand fair treatment, wrote Roosevelt. But, he wrote, “I want to emphasize my conviction that militant tactics have no place” in the public sector. “A strike of public employees manifests nothing less than an intent on their part to prevent or obstruct the operations of Government.”
Don’t read them.So you have no idea? Your posts are not very helpful.
I thought you had a position to make and I might learn more about falsified government reports.Don’t read them.
