Concerning the 3 days of darkness I contacted the National Padre Pio Center.

While I have read otherwise but according to this group St. Pio never made such a prophecy concerning the Three Days of Darkness. However this appears to be an authorative source.
I recieved this email from The Padre Pio Center for North America:
"Dear “Doubting” Thomas

,
I applaud your diligence in seeking truth. The prophecy of the “Three Days of Darkness” is correctly attributed to the late mystic, Blessed Anna Maria Taigi.
Back in 1960, was the first time that this rumor, associating the prophecy with Padre Pio began in which it was brought to the attention of Church authorities who turned it over to the Capuchin Order for reply.
Father Clement Neubauer O.F.M. Cap., Superior General of the Capuchin Order, speaking on behalf of the Order and specifically for Padre Pio labeled the prophecies attributed to padre Pio as forgeries.
Later in 1977, Volume XII, number 2 of the Voice of Padre Pio magazine, the official publication of the Cause for Postulazaione (Beatification and Canonization) of Padre Pio, clearly printed that on several occasions Padre Pio answered with a resounding “NO” to those who questioned him about whether he made the prophecy of the Three Days of Darkness. (Red Font for Emphasis mine)
Thank you for seeking the truth. Perhaps you may wish to learn more of the life of Blessed Anna Maria Taigi; very interesting life. Her incorrupt body is in the Church of San Crisogono in Trastevere Section of Rome, if ever you travel to Italy.
God bless you,"

Catechism of the Catholic Church #67: Throughout the ages, there have been so-called “private” revelations, some of which have been recognized by the authority of the Church. They do not belong, however, to the deposit of faith. It is not their role to improve or complete Christ’s definitive Revelation, but to help live more fully by it in a certain period of history. Guided by the Magisterium of the Church, the sensus fidelium knows how to discern and welcome in these revelations whatever constitutes an authentic call of Christ or his saints to the Church.
Christian faith cannot accept “revelations” that claim to surpass or correct the Revelation of which Christ is the fulfilment, as is the case in certain nonChristian religions and also in certain recent sects which base themselves on such “revelations”.
Religious seers, even those recognized by the Church may have been recieved direct insight from the Holy Spirit but their attempts to communicate these private revelations may fail to express these revelations from God due to human error resulting from barriers such as those language and the written word. Whenever we express ourselves we do so imperfectly and the same is true when people read what we have said or written or even in art forms.

For example the images & concepts of Holy Angels & Demons. The mental impressions that give rise to images are not the same thing as these angelic spirits. They are elements of thoughts and feelings associated with contemplation. How can something that is spiritual be truly expressed or apprehended fully truthful when we all are subject to human error.
This is why we should follow the Church's guidelines concerning not just private revelations but all matters of faith especially moral guidelines. Christ founded and established His Church to be a Great Light that guides us to Heaven.
I believe that there will be a Chastisement, a Big Wakeup Call for all. The private revelations concerning the 3 days of darkness have Church approval. However people like to "add-on" and it is hard to find a good source.
