Asking to change the date at all because “something else” takes superior priority over Jesus Christ in the Eucharist - the “something else” in this case being a boy band.

We have a pastor who will invite a child to receive when he considers them to be ready. If the child or the family desires to wait until First Holy Communion with their class, so be it. But he is not one to withhold Holy Communion from a Catholic who is sufficiently prepared and in a State of Grace.
That came our for us twice. Back in 2009, my daughter was due to make her First Holy Communion in May. Our family also was able to get tickets to the +Benedict’s Papal Mass in D.C.
Our pastor brought it to our attention that it would be a shame for our daughter not the receive Holy Communion at the Papal Mass and asked us if we would consider having her make her FHC prior. We (and she) said Yes. She made her FHC at the Saturday am Mass a few weeks prior.
It came up again when another daughter was due to make her FHC. My brother and his wife are her godparents, and he is currently living in China for work. He was due to come home for Christmas, but would not be able to make it home in May for his goddaughter’s FHC.
So we took that to our pastor and he agreed and outlined the additional prep work she would need to present to him. She finished the preparation to his satisfaction well in advance and made her FHC during the Christmas Octave (again at a ‘daily’ Mass)

It is kind of nice to celebrate your first communion with a group of people who have taken the same initiation courses.
There is no religious requirement to do so, nevertheless. Certainly, if the boy band is really important to these three girls( I am assuming that they are girls), there is nothing stopping them from going to their first communion on the Saturday evening Mass, or even the next week.
It is hard for a group to accommodate the personal schedule of everyone. One would hope that the group will do what they can, but in the end people have to make the choice on their own when it comes to scheduling.
These things happen all the time for a whole variety of reasons, some more mundane that this, some absolutely crucial.

1D over a First Communion Day? Nice try! When I was preparing for my 1st Communion, I thank God that I did not have worry that a concert was going to be more important!
