Did any of you see the Mass today at The National Basilica on EWTN? What did you think?

Haven’t you heard? Disrespect and irreverence cannot possibly occur at a TLM. You must have been watching a different Mass, sorry.Well, it was pretty good. However, the entrance of the Mass was extremely shaky. Why were the Knights of Columbus leading the way? That was just wrong. And I saw one or two priests talking to people on their way to the altar, that wasn’t good either. It was nice, but would have been much better if the entrance were more reverent.
First of all, that Mass was never called a TLM. It was called a Pontifical High Mass. Basically it was a mixed type of Mass. Lots of TLM parts but a few Novus Ordo parts as well.Haven’t you heard? I could handle it a couple of times a year. But other than that, too much pomp for my tastes.Did any of you see the Mass today at The National Basilica on EWTN? What did you think?
May I ask what you are talking about?First of all, that Mass was never called a TLM. It was called a Pontifical High Mass. Basically it was a mixed type of Mass. Lots of TLM parts but a few Novus Ordo parts as well.
What was wrong with that? That is the standard protocol.Well, it was pretty good. However, the entrance of the Mass was extremely shaky. Why were the Knights of Columbus leading the way? I’m talking about a Mass that is a mix of the TLM and Novus Ordo. It had more of the TLM than Novus Ordo, but still…May I ask what you are talking about?![]()

What was wrong with it? The Knights of Columbus leading the way to the altar? What’s wrong with it is that is isn’t Traditional. It’s not supposed to be that way, it’s not the least bit reverent. They weren’t even going to be celebrating the Mass so what buisness did they have leading the way? What was wrong with that? That is the standard protocol.

It was wonderful to see the Latin mass said at that altar in that beautiful setting.I could handle it a couple of times a year. But other than that, too much pomp for my tastes.
I lost my focus and got bored by all the pageantry after awhile. That kind of honesty may bother some here, but that is what happened. I got bored by the pageantry.
