I had waist-length hair in high school, and had it chopped off to a pixie cut in college - my boyfriend at the time didn’t even comment! I was kind of miffed at that.
I’ve had my hair short for a long time now, and I love it short - I love the feel of it, the ease of styling (no worries about updo versus leaving it down), and how I feel when I have short hair. But I kept getting comments - my mom even asked me whether I was gay!

Now I’m growing it out.
I love dying my hair - last summer, my boss told me he didn’t care if I went punk with my hair, so I was chin-length with orange, pink, purple, blue, and green highlights.

(At different times - orange for one month, then pink… all the way to the end of the summer.) I wish I could do it again, but my new boss doesn’t approve.
My boyfriend told me he likes my hair long and natural, so I’m running with that for a while. I also don’t have the money anymore for a regular trim like I used to. It’s shoulder-length now, and I’ll probably grow it out slowly for at least another year. Maybe after I get married I’ll chop it all off again, but I know my boyfriend would be upset if I did that! Women always seem to do one thing before marriage and then change drastically afterward.
As for you, whatevergirl, the brown bob looks really nice. I love the style you posted at the beginning, too - really pretty. As long as your husband doesn’t hate the style, I say go for it. But if PenguinsFan says he doesn’t like short hair at all, I might reconsider just because it seems inconsiderate to completely disregard a husband’s feelings.
