Yeah, I’m with InSearchofGrace here. It’s impossible to speak honestly and not offend Muslims. They’ll have to learn to live with offense if they want to be part of the world, and while they’re unwilling to do that I don’t see a problem with saying: Good. Go away. Come back when you’re willing to stop being babies, oh glorious “Ulema”.

I seems to me that Hitler took offense when Pius XII and some bishops spoke out against his massacre of Jews. Governments that kill peaceful people based only on their religious beliefs just aren’t likely to welcome the disapproval of the Catholic church.

This branch of Sunni Islam reveals that it is founded on the lie. They are incensed because Pope Benedict XVI is calling for the protection of Christians in Egypt. Since the Muslim call is to convert or kill, it seems they have narrowed their focus to simply killing. How do you convert a dead person to Islam? Is this an example of Muslim Calvinism?

I find it the height of hypocrisy and very disgusting that Islamic leaders would complain about foreign interference in the internal matters of Egypt when they never cease to blather on and on about the condition of the poor oppressed Muslims in other countries. What is the Pope doing that is any different than that? It seems that, once again, Islam demands for itself a phony “respect” (a silencing of all criticism, no matter how absolutely right it is) that it cannot give. That’s right – its leaders can’t even give a phony respect, let alone anything real. And the Pope wasn’t even asking for that, just an end to the violence and persecution. And Al-Azar complains. Un-freaking-believable! 
God forbid anyone should ever bomb Al-Azar like they bombed Al-Qiddisin. Then their idiotic sheikhs might have to stop whining for five minutes. I don’t know how they would manage.

There’s a new concept in the West called “freedom of speech”. Accepting it means you may hear some things you won’t like. But maybe, just maybe those are the very thought provoking ideas you need to hear.
I suggest that what is hard to look at is the barbaric behavior. And that behavior need be on public trail world-wide daily. And it will be.
Yes, I’m sure Egypt would prefer everyone remained silent about that issue.

And the “wrong” description of Islam was from Regensburg, which was blown out of proportion and which was explained/retracted by the Pope. For Muslims to keep beating that drum, while reacting angrily to any criticism of lethal violence against Christians in Muslim countries, does not make Islam look very good.
Murderous actions like this simply make Christians think that the Pope was right at Regensburg–or maybe that he didn’t go far enough!

Seems to me that the “mass killings of Iraqi Muslims” seem to come from competing Muslim sects as they bomb bazaars and mosques and other Iraqi gathering places. Strange that they would be considered “American allies”.
