Also noticed the word you changed in my post, sly. Please change it back, or take it out of the quote section, it’s one thing for you to say that of me, but it’s another thing for you to claim I said that in a quotation. I didn’t say that so it’s unfair to have it in a quotation of mine. Also you could get in trouble from the moderators for doing stuff like that (I won’t report you though, please correct it).

God Bless

Thank you for reading

You Trumpsters really need thicker skin.

It’s not that, I do believe I have thick skin especially on anonymous forum boards, you can make a joke of it if you like, it’s that it was in a quotation of mine that I took exception to, because I didn’t write that. It didn’t come from me it came from you. And I just don’t want other posters thinking I had typed that.

God Bless You

Thank you for reading

Is your argument that the Vatican does not address abortion sufficiently?
That is quite possible since we still have Catholics voting for the pro-death party while they berate Trump and his supporters. Something is wrong with that.

I think whenever Catholic officials speak on the moral acceptability of forcing Americans to pay for Muslim third world mass migration to its own nation it needs to divulge how much of that American money is finding its way into their own coffers.
Yet another accusation that the Pope and the bishops are putting their own financial interests ahead of their moral judgments. When did CAF turn into a Jack Chick tract? When did it become acceptable for posters that claim to be Catholic to accuse Church officials of selling the faith for cash?

Shameful.

Once again the followers of the Glorious Leader reveal where their true loyalty lies.
Attack the Church you claim as your own.

That might be true if there were any evidence that the vetting procedures for immigrants is not stringent enough already. Do you know of any such evidence?
The Boston Bombers, the San Bernardino Massacre that begins the long list of existing un-properly vetted Immigration process.

There is a difference between criticizing the polices and the person…although Pope Francis has said that a nation has a right to sovereign borders and should not take in more refugees than it can handle.

My guess is a lot of folks aren’t aware of that.

Also, the USA has given considerably to keep the Vatican running. In other words, they’ve been quite charitable.

There is no shortage of opinions that the current vetting procedure is inadequate. But I was asking about objective evidence, based on actual breeches by would-be terrorists.
Here are some cases of people who have come to the USA who have been suspected or implicated in terrorism:
Several dozen suspected terrorist bombmakers, including some believed to have targeted American troops, may have mistakenly been allowed to move to the United States as war refugees, according to FBI agents investigating the remnants of roadside bombs recovered from Iraq and Afghanistan.
The discovery in 2009 of two al Qaeda-Iraq terrorists living as refugees in Bowling Green, Kentucky – who later admitted in court that they’d attacked U.S. soldiers in Iraq

Ahmad Khan Rahimi is originally from Afghanistan, but he and his family lived in Pakistan before coming to the USA as refugees: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_New_York_and_New_Jersey_bombings

Dahir Adan was a refugee that came via Kenya but was part of Minnesota’s Somalia according to this: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_Minnesota_mall_stabbing

Abdul Artan, originally from Somalia, lived in Pakistan before coming to the USA as a refugee: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_Ohio_State_University_attack

Aws Mohammed Younis Al-Jayab was a Syrian refugee who came to the USA and lied to immigration authorities regarding his involvement in terrorism: counterextremism.com/extremists/aws-mohammed-younis-al-jayab

Omar Faraj Saeed Al Hardan came to the USA as a refugee from Syria: m.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/oct/18/syrian-refugee-admits-terrorist-intentions-in-blac/

There is a long list at the following link, detailing the cases of people who came to the USA as refugees. I won’t name all those but here are some: Aws Mohammed Younis Al-Jayab, Fazliddin Kurbanov, Abdurahman Yasin Daud, Mohammed Jawad, Abdinassir Mohamud Ibrahim, Abdullah Ramo Pazara, Haji Mohamed, Ahmed Nasir Taalil Mohamud, Issa Doreh, Waad, Ramadan Alwan, Mohaned Shareef Hammadi: sessions.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/news-releases?ID=FE9403D1-FBD1-4BCC-A0F9-16566A09079E

I doubt this is an exhaustive list and not all these people are from countries that are in the executive order, although most probably are from countries listed in the executive order. I’m sure I could find more names of more refugees who have been suspected or implicated in terrorism.

Has anyone seen the media coverage concerning the extensive security measures that are talking place for the Super Bowl? Is the necessity of implementing these extreme measures anyone’s idea of freedom and liberty? The U.S. and its citizens are clearly threatened by terrorism from religious extremists, and it is at best disingenuous to maintain that they are not. The U.S. is a sovereign nation, and the first duty of government is to protect its own citizens, for they have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. When any of these values are externally threatened, the government has an obligation to act. If that includes a temporary travel ban while this is sorted out, then so be it. The seven nations affected by the ban were identified by Obama some years ago as havens for terrorists–but it will take more than that to actually do something about it.

I remembers something similar to that, but I do not think he worded that way, if it is the quote I remember. Without a link or time to search for this, I can’t take the last part of that statement as accurate.

The brothers that bombed the Boston Marathon was not on the list of any countries addressed by Donald Trump’s executive order. They were not Arab enough. The man behind the San Bernadino Massacre was born in Chicago. But then, hasn’t Trump threatened to invade Chicago!?😃

The point is, the immigration issue is still used for fear-mongering. Considering how many immigrants we have, legal and illegal, instances of immigrant terrorism are very rare. Also, despite this claim that this inconvenience is just for “vetting”, that little buzz word ignores that under President Obama, the screening process for immigrants from Muslim countries has been intensive and very successful. Any danger, is nothing but an opportunity to garner fear.

As been said during every shooting, never let a good crisis go to waste. The conservatives under Trump do this far better and with much less cause than the gun control lobby every did. There is much more evidence base on people killed to have gun bans than immigration bans. Favor both, favor neither, or embrace the hypocrisy of the position.

There is a thread called “Pope Francis on Border Control” on page 5 of the threads that contains the link.

I’ve given names of people who came to the USA, on post #91, many of whom are from countries that are part of the seven in the executive order.

I saw them. Like I said, do you use the same logic on gun control? If not, why not. I see the logical fallacy in anecdotal evidence. Not all you gave are from the countries on the order, and some were caught before hand. The point is, just like one can find other ways to find guns or to commit mass murder, a terrorist can find more than one way into the country.
In one ear and right out the other, so to speak lol
This is flat out rude.

I shudder to think what enquirers, other Catholics, or those from other faiths might think if they read those posts out of context. Let’s hope they realise that American exceptionalism tends to bring out the worst in some of the faithful who deep down, surely know better!
