That’ll work, just as it worked for that druggist in Oklahoma who emptied his pistol into that kid, and then calmly reloaded it to make sure the perp was dead. Even in Oklahoma, not at all unfriendly to gun owners, he got a 39 year sentence.
Panicking and emptying your firearm into a threat can be legal.

Re-loading and shooting a man lying on the ground (no threat) is murder.

Perhaps you know the difference?

Again, this is just an opinion because we don’t know that Zimmerman did not heed the dispatcher. If he hadn’t had his weapon with him, perhaps he would be the deceased. But, if he had just stayed in his truck to begin with, just observing and reporting, both men would likely be alive now.

"Priest’s perspective on Trayvon Martin case
By Matt C. Abbott

I asked Father Angel Sotelo, a priest of the Catholic Diocese of Fresno, for his perspective on the Trayvon Martin tragedy.

Father Sotelo’s comments are as follows:

[Regarding] the Trayvon Martin case, I would step back from the racial tension and look at how this started. Basically, the 911 dispatcher was right to ask in so many words, ‘Are you, George Zimmerman, a private citizen, not a police officer, walking around that neighborhood with a loaded firearm, following an African-American youth who has not harmed you or even threatened to harm you?’ When Zimmerman responded yes, he should have heeded the advice that followed, ‘You don’t need to be doing that.’"…

To eat crow does not = to apologize, far as I know but simply to admit a mistake. Not sure whether they actually ever apologized or not.
Great.

So where did Sharpton or Jackson publicly admit a mistake in their response to the Duke case?

And Black folks take Mike Tyson even less seriously than they take the Black Panthers. He was crazy BEFORE he was hit upside the head in the ring a few million times!

Also, I would like to know why some of you are holding all black people responsible for the utterances of every random black person or group in the country. This is similar to the way in which you demonize the entire Muslim world because you fail to hear it when Muslim leaders decry terrorism at the hands of Muslim extremists. What if I decided I could judge all white men as cannibals because of Jeffrey Dahmer?

Trayvon Martin’s parents, spokespersons, and lawyers have all appealed for calm and to allow the process to run its course. Al Sharpton openly apologized during the press conference yesterday for his initial doubts that the special prosecutor would be serious about seeking justice for the family. Yet, some of you want to keep the MESS going by pointing to each and every instance of random black nonsense as black people not doing enough to be peaceful.

I can tell you that many black people reading these threads would certainly not be drawn to some of your versions of Catholic Christianity.
Oh please, the only reason Sharpton apologized is because he got what he wanted. He would have been crying racism if there had been no charges even if there was no evidence to charge. At this point we have to wait and see what the trial shows the evidence is. But Sharpton has proven time and again to play the race card to further his own agenda.

If the Martin parents want calm then maybe they shouldn’t be standing next to people screaming that Trayvon was hunted down like a rabid dog. I personally do not stand by and say nothing when people spout off outrageous claims that I personally disavow.

Great.

We’re still waiting on that… They are far too busy stirring up racial tension to apologize for the last time they stirred up racial tension.

I’m an attorney. Why should I know the difference?

But, the druggist’s sympathizers as well as he, didn’t seem to know the difference. They considered him in the right from the time he shot the perp the first time (legal and justified) to when he fired his last re-load into the kid. Started a fund for him they did, and filled the newspaper with remarks about the stupidity of the prosecutor and how he had a right to shoot the kid down because of the 2nd Amendment.

Yes!

If he did heed the advice,
then why was he in the vicinity of the “suspicious” stranger?

Horrible.

Unless he has apologized recently, he doesn’t plan to ever do it.

Al Sharpton may have mellowed - but he still won’t apologize for the Tawana Brawley debacle.
A quarter-century later after he whipped up racial tensions over the incendiary case, Sharpton still stands by a story that the courts of law and public opinion long ago ruled a hoax.
Pressed on CBS’ “60 Minutes” to explain why he never apologized for accusations that proved false, Sharpton said, “I don’t know that.”
“I have thought about that a million times,” Sharpton said. “I just don’t believe they treated that case fair.”

What accusations!

Q. How could you possibly KNOW such things?
A. You couldn’t.

Uh huh. I haven’t seen any articles from whites/white-hispanics/white-asians or any other white/red/yellow/green/blue people calling for Zimmerman’s death. If I do, I will certainly be glad to post them. Maybe you should direct your contempt towards the media who seems to only asking blacks for their opinion on this case.🤷

Great post. 👍

The real victims’ real parents have spoken most poignantly to these issues.

A crime victim’s family recently asked their DA to not pursue the death penalty for the killer.

There are perhaps other testaments to significant contributions by black people to racial reconciliation, but none of that is being highlighted here.

Even Sharpton, who is generally not thought very highly of around here, asked people not to gloat and seemed to adopt a somber tone, so I guess there’s really nothing more to do than bring up an organisation few people find fit for discussion at the dinner table! 😦

Didn’t work, did it?

And which media would that be exactly? On all the networks I watch, there are always people of more than one race, and that includes supporters of Zimmerman.

Another mind-reader?
No, it was based on what he SAID.

Based on what he said, he doesn’t believe that the accusations were false.

Nor can he as it is admission of his being a serial liar

In 1998, Pagones was awarded $345,000 (he sought $395 million) through a lawsuit for defamation of character that he had brought against Sharpton, Maddox and Mason. The jury found Sharpton liable for making seven defamatory statements about Pagones, Maddox for two and Mason for one. The jury deadlocked on four of the 22 statements over which Pagones had sued, and it found eight statements to be non-defamatory.[27] In a later interview, Pagones said the turmoil by the accusations of Brawley and her advisers had cost him his first marriage and much personal grief.[28]

Pagones had also sued Brawley. She defaulted by not appearing at the trial, and the judge ordered her to pay him damages of $185,000. As of 2003, none of the award had been paid.[29] The $65,000 judgment levied against Al Sharpton was paid for him in 2001 by supporters, including renowned attorney Johnnie Cochran plus former businessman Earl G. Graves, Jr.[30][31]
