Well, folks,

It’s my bedtime so I’ll see ya’ll tomorrow on the new manifestation of this thread.

God loves all of you, lurkers, too,
Don

“according to members of the Zimmerman family” + Daily Caller = zero

A review of the DC homepage shows their authorities on matters include Rush Limbaugh and FOX’s Hannity. They get an F for fake news.
Compared to NBCs Today show editing the 911 call to make it appear that Zimmerman is a racist and ABC editing video removing a police officer looking closely at the back of Zimmermans head while their commentator claims that the video shows no evidence of Zimmerman having a head injury. Both media outlets have since apologized for their actions.

Fake indeed.

Trayvon got killed from a gunshot via GZ. Had GZ chosen not to shoot TM he would be alive. To reiterate clearly,** TM didn’t get himself killed**, as a fact, GZ shot him. Some may believe that it’s reasonable to think that TM just freaked out and started beating on GZ. I am not one of those people. For you to claim that TM got himself killed by his actions is a HUGE leap of faith.
We don’t know what TM’s actions were. So to say they didn’t get him killed, is just as much of a leap of faith.

Until the evidence is laid out against Zimmerman, which it doesn’t so far, and a case can be made to prove he’s lying and guilty of the charges that haven’t been brought against him, he is as innocent and free as you or I.
He doesn’t have to be lying to have held an unreasonable belief.
I’d have to be pretty far gone to bother to call 911 and report someone acting like they were on drugs, and they were just walking down the street.
Giving Martin the benefit of the doubt means you’ve convicted Zimmerman already. As I’ve asked before, will you overturn your own sentence of Zimmerman if this is thrown out?
I haven’t passed sentence. I do not feel the initial investigation was handled properly, and I think a trial is needed. That’s what would satisfy my own thoughts.
Before you respond with, “Do you want him to go to trial?” I’ve said before, if I was Z I’d be begging for the trial.
If I were Zimmerman, I wouldn’t have followed Martin to begin with, and nobody would be dead.

When one person shoots another person dead, and the person who was shot dead was unarmed, I tend to give a presumption of innocence to the dead one.

With that, I’m leaving this thread.

There’s your problem, in a nutshell.

He doesn’t have to be lying to have held an unreasonable belief.
Unless he admits to it, you have no proof of an unreasonable belief.

I think he needs this Grand Jury and possibly a trial for his own benefit.

From what I gather, Zimmerman didn’t follow him until Martin started walking toward him then turn and ran…I’m going off the top of my head and the 911 call, but it’s been a day or so since I read the transcript. At that point, I think anyone would have been wondering what the heck he was doing and my guess is that Zimmerman wasn’t following him so much as just trying to find out which way he was headed so he could inform the police when they arrived.

That’s about like saying when you see an overweight person you automatically assume they eat too many hamburgers.

There are now more than 3000 posts in the three Trayvon threads.
Refreshing your memory:

Z told 911 that he was following Martin.
911 said 'we don’t need you to do that."
Z answered “ok.”

Why did he follow him in the first place?
Did he ever really stop following him?

Neighborhood Watch is NOT to follow:
just “observe and report.”
Zimmerman followed him and admitted it.

Why did he follow him in the first place?
To be prepared to tell the police which direction he went.
Did he ever really stop following him?
Sounds like it, but until the audio is analyzed and questions are asked, don’t really know for sure.

Observing someone is hard to do if they run.

Yet the Neighborhood Watch code is
Do NOT follow. It’s a given and has
been discussed often in these
3000+ posts. Really.

I didn’t realize there was a code, but it doesn’t really matter…personally, I see nothing wrong with following as long as you keep a safe distance. Martin became aware of Z’s presence and start toward him before he took off running.

I wasn’t around for all 3,000 posts, but if your tired of discussing it, by all means…feel free to stop whenever you wish.

Yet the actual code and 911’s instruction and the attitude upheld by all police and law
enforcement is “do NOT follow.” You’d do what you want - like Zimmerman did.

So a “stranger” died.

I do not have enough details to reach that conclusion, I’m glad you do though.

IMHO… this discussion, like most of commentary in America, is misdirected. Since nobody on this forum was a witness my interpretations of the night’s events are just as valid as anyone else. So, consider this:
Dick Chaney’s new heart has a secret transmitter and encoding device linked to the Halliburton servers. It directed the Neighborhood Watch, who are really CIA operatives in Florida preparing a new Bay of Pigs to take over Cuba, to eliminate Martin. The kid stumbled on the CIA secret headquarters established during the Bush administration. It has taken 3000 hits but finally someone has to say it. It is all Bush’s fault. 😃

A lot of people are taking this way too seriously. I do have sympathy for both sides but I wasn’t there so I don’t know what happened. Nor do I expect any form of justice to come out of this mess. Once the Feds. put you on their radar screen they will hound forever and eventually over charge to get a plea bargain. They have political patrons to make look good. If you don’t play ball with the federal prosecutors you can end up spending thousands to defend yourself and even if you win don’t expect them to say they’re sorry. Or recover your loses. The prosecutors being the guberment they never have to say they’re sorry.
It doesn’t matter one way or the other Zimmerman is probably toast

It wasn’t the instructions of the 911 operator nor is it the policy of their neighborhood watch.

Come on, everyone knows Dick Chaney’s heart is just fine, all those “operations” are just cover to explain his disappearances when he goes to get new instructions at Big Oil’s secret corporate headquarters on an island off the coast of Atlantis.

The plot thickens 👍
