I don’t have to deal with anything…As was already stated this is bad form on the parts of those who choose to partake of such disrespectful and childish behavior. It is also bad form on your part that you have to be soooo rude and snarky. Enough said.

I don’t think 19th century politics has much bearing on either modern party. That’s like saying “your great-great-grandpa had slaves, so you must be a racist too.”

We should never forget our history or be uneducated about the history of our country.
Or be uneducated about the history of our political parties.
The democrats obviously don’t want people to be educated about their past.

But it must cover the point. There is a difference talking about sampling error, systematic errors in modelling, etc., vs conspiracy theories. There would far greater brevity in responses if people made it clear that they were really talking a about the latter.
That was just the first one that came up when I did a search. I’m not going to link to the 100,000 or more stories about the various polls being useless. Many polls that came out during the election had similarly skewed demographic breakdowns, consistently underestimating Republicans and Independents while adding in extra Democrats, completely out of line with the actual demographic breakdown of the population at large.

You don’t have to search. RealClearPolitics tracked a multitude of polls over time: you can see the averages spread and contract. 538 does the same but weights the polls according to accuracy over time.

Polls use demographic models. Again, since their value hinges on useful predictions, it is of no value to make wrong ones. Whatever motives you like to conjure up, it is far more likely that the bottom line is the bottom line.
Most of us have zero confidence in the believability of any of the pollsters now.

For those who see the statistics as an imponderable cannot fathom a long shot coming through, or see the craft of polling as equally mysterious, there is always hope for gaining confidence through education. For the conspiracy theorists, that is, sadly, less clear.

Good, I am glad that you disagree with Borealis about what the general assertion is.
Worth reading the series of articles on 538 if you want insight in the analysis of this years polling. But a first point to realize is that Trump’s coming through at 2:1 against, while a surprise, should not be seen as a shock.

Some are quick to point out how much the Democratic party has changed, and always for the worse. But supposedly the Republican party has not changed at all, or if so, only for the better. This is a skewed view of history.

For one, Trump actually won the White House (landslide in the electoral college and popular vote) in the early 90s, but an elite group of Democratic agents managed to purge history of this truth and get Clinton into office. They have kept him from his rightful place for decades. If not for these wicked conspiring Leftists, the constitution would have been amended to allow Trump to govern for indefinite terms. So I hear anyway… can’t put anything past those Democrats, or Trump critics in general. Did you know Cain was a Trump critic? That’s why he killed Abel - a good Republican boy. 😃
