Trump abruptly ends press conference after contentious exchange with reporters

I think we’ve learned through all of this that he is incapable of not being divisive, erratic, indisciplined and self-contradictory. He hasn’t risen to the occasion, because it’s not in his DNA to be other than that way. He’s not a strong leader by any measure of leadership.

I was in high school in 1970 and I can verify that supporters of the construction workers are now Trump supporters!

I get real tired of hearing folks from that era who (like Trump) consider themselves patriots but ran from the draft at that time. There are legions of them who were not anti-war they just were against their own participation.

And you don’t find it odd that other presidents, governors and statesmen (or women!) could ALWAYS respond respectfully to all sorts of questions? Or is this Trump ‘draining the swamp’?

Trump gets leeway as to his petulance but Obama’s tan suit brings derision?
 
If he doesn’t want to answer questions he can go back to not having press conferences.

Sort of reminds me of the saying, if you can’t stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

He answers the same question over and over again 50 times. The public wants to hear how we are improving things and moving forward and getting back on our feet vs the BS such as “why did you say China”, “why didn’t you close the govt sooner”. People want to move forward not backwards. This talk and questions from the reporters is all backwards talk over and over again. It’s disgusting after a while, a waste of time. And Trumps not perfect either and blowing his own horn, we don’t want to hear that either but most of the time it’s to the stupid questions being asked over and over again.

Then he shouldn’t allow questions. Just come out, make his statements and go back in. Again, if he doesn’t want to take a chance on questions he doesn’t like (no matter how often they are asked), don’t open it up for questions.

He actually has some control over how those press conferences are run. He chooses whether or not questions are going to be asked. He chooses who asks the questions. He knows who all the reporters are. Please stop making him out to be some poor little victim. He is the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. That gives him more power than anyone else on the planet.

I don’t know if that is accurate. kThere are different questions – he seems to hate to admit to any mistakes or shortcomings.

Then if he decides to cut off the briefing and rude questions what are you complaining about, he has all the power as you just said. The reporters are there every day waiting to ask the same questions. It’s a joke.

Well that’s the only thing they point out, negative things. Trump is a positive person, the media is gloom and doom.

I’m not complaining about him ending the press conference. I’m complaining about all the people who say “Poor Trump, he is so picked upon.” As a kid, everytime we started that nonsense, my mother would ask us if we wanted her to get us some worms (from the song everyone hates me, nobody loves me, i’m going to eat worms). And if Trump himself isn’t whining, his supporters are doing it for him (he’s the most picked upon president in all of history, he’s just misunderstood, he can’t be expected to know _____ fill in the blank).
