Yep, that’s the new spin on this. No use denying it, so deny who authorised it.…no evidence of a wiretap on Trump or on Trump Tower ordered by Obama.

But Trump’s claim did say who authorized it, and that it was specifically against him. That is what is called taking a shred of truth and spinning it into a lie.Yep, that’s the new spin on this. No use denying it, so deny who authorised it.
Who was it that said to Putin, “after the election I’ll have more flexibility?” Treason!Trump’s new wiretapping charge is a way of distracting from his Russia ties. Here’s an interesting new one:
Trump Reverses Pledge To Mandate U.S. Steel For Keystone Pipeline. A Direct Beneficiary Is A Russian Oligarch With Close Ties To Vladimir Putin

Which claim is more serious, Obama ordered a wire tap on trump, or trump worked with Russia to win the election?Except that one’s claim is extraordinary and the other is ordinary. For example,
Suppose I claimed to have evidence that you once ran a meth lab in your basement, and supporters of your deny it. Are people supposed to take both claims as having equal likelihood of being true, pending a “full investigation”?
Sorry - gotta jump in here really quick.
“Sessions recused himself from the Russia investigation after it was discovered that he lied about his contacts with Russia (under oath). How is this not evidence that the administration had ties and communications with Russia? Why lie? Those are the questions Americans want answered.”
Beware making rash judgments. A lie is a deliberate false statement. All I see there is a good faith answer to a rather convoluted question.
But I thought mwigs brought up a salient point.…no evidence of a wiretap on Trump or on Trump Tower ordered by Obama.
The seriousness of a claim has no bearing on the believability of that claim. And that is what Ridgerunner was talking about (“it is just a question of who you believe”)Which claim is more serious, Obama ordered a wire tap on trump, or trump worked with Russia to win the election?
There are two separate claims here. One is that wiretaps may have been done on aids of Trump to determine connections with Russia. That is the claim of the first NY Times article. The second claim - the one made by Trump - is that Obama ordered a wiretap on Trump personally. That is the claim that is being denied. There is no contradiction by the NY Times to publish one claim and also publish that there is no support for the second claim. But I thought mwigs brought up a salient point.
The SAME paper that is trumpeting (no pun intended) the " … no proof" claim in its headlines NOW …
Trump, Offering No Evidence, Says Obama Tapped His Phones
By MICHAEL D. SHEAR and MICHAEL S. SCHMIDT MARCH 4, 2017

Were trumpeting the fact that there WERE wiretaps … on its front page … on no less than Inauguration Day itself!

The appearance is not clear one way or another based on a tweet or tweets.I didn’t claim to know, did I?
The appearance was clear, because he and his gave nothin’
Trump did not use the the words order or authorized. But Trump’s claim did say who authorized it, and that it was specifically against him. That is what is called taking a shred of truth and spinning it into a lie.
Trump’s first tweet said:Trump did not use the the words order or authorized.

In that event, it depends on the credibility of the person saying it, particularly as evidenced by prior actions.Except that one’s claim is extraordinary and the other is ordinary. For example,
Suppose I claimed to have evidence that you once ran a meth lab in your basement, and your friends deny it. Are people supposed to take both claims as having equal likelihood of being true, pending a “full investigation”?
Who was it that said to Putin, “I’ll have more flexibility after the election?”Trump’s first tweet said:
“Just found out that Obama had my “wires tapped” in Trump Tower”
What’s false is “Obama” and “my wires”. Your wires weren’t tapped, Mr. Trump. It was your aids. And if there was any tapping done, Obama did not “have it done”.
Wrong. There are two separate claims here. One is that wiretaps may have been done on aids of Trump to determine connections with Russia. That is the claim of the first NY Times article. The second claim - the one made by Trump - is that Obama ordered a wiretap on Trump personally. That is the claim that is being denied. PreciselyWrong.
NYT January 20th: ““Wiretapped Data Used in Inquiry of Trump Aides”
From another NYT article on January 20th: “But The Times knew several critical facts: the F.B.I. had a sophisticated investigation underway on Trump’s organization, possibly including FISA warrants. (Some news outlets now report that the F.B.I. did indeed have such warrants, an indication of probable cause.)”
NYT March 4th: Michael Schmidt and Michael Shear wrote: “Trump believes the “deep state” intelligence community, staffed with holdovers from the Obama Administration, wiretapped several of his campaign associates because of a spurious article from Breitbart News. They continue to state in their article: “He was leveling the explosive allegation without offering any evidence.”, and “The official offered no evidence to support the notion that such an order exists.”
Yet the NYT previously wrote about such orders themselves, therefore the NYT has inadvertently attacked the credibility of its own reporting.
Do you seed the words “ordered and authorized”?Trump’s first tweet said:
“Just found out that Obama had my “wires tapped” in Trump Tower”
What’s false is “Obama” and “my wires”. Your wires weren’t tapped, Mr. Trump. It was your aids. And if there was any tapping done, Obama did not “have it done”.
He’s paranoid.I’m long past the point of being surprised at the ludicrous musings of Mr. Trump. Many people have said that Trump is temperamentally unfit for office, and he proves this point on an almost daily basis. God help our country.![]()
