To be fair, I referred to the other part of the post: “If anything the country as a whole is elated!” I assume that being “unhappy” excludes being “elated”.

Sophistry at work and we all know it. Of course it’d be nice to see Hillary pay for her nefarious corruption and stupendous negligence with national security/ classified information, but even a child understands that one cannot fight all battles at once. Even a child understands Trump didn’t run for office in order to put somebody in jail. He’s got bigger fish to catch. His republican convention themes were to make amaerica strong again, safe again, and put America back to work again.

And who knows, Hillary may still be prosecuted!

He promised to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Hillary. That was a campaign promise. After the election he back tracked on this. 🤷

Who’s the special prosecutor going to be? Convicted felon Oliver North? Maybe Sarah Palin? Maybe Marcia Clark from the O.J. trial.

Do you remember the context of this promise? It was when Hillary and her media accomplices were ganging up on him about the Hollywood tape. It was when the debate moderators didn’t ask anything about Hillary’s emails but kept pounding Trump about his tape from years ago. That’s when he said it, because he was a counter puncher. If you were going after him, he’ll come back at you and ten times harder.

Really this isn’t hard to get. But anyway, if he does keep this promise, I wonder what complaints we will hear then? 🙂

I must admit that it is discouraging to read some Catholic responses on here turning everything into politics, us vs them instead of the moral consequences of good vs evil on laws being passed and executive actions being ordered based on the teachings of Christ and His Apostles. So the poor, the disabled, the elderly are the ones being demonized.

The elimination of meals on wheels has been shown in peer review articles as being successful. Over 500,000 veterans depend on those 2 aday meals. The cost of maintaining 3 white houses and his weekly vacations to Florida over 8 yr period.could supply that program for another 475 years.

The executive order to eliminate mental health care for Iraqi and Afghanistan war veterans who commit 22 suicides a day is a national disgrace.

Elimination of Medicaid and Sec 8 Housing for the elderly. No nursing home care for elderly patients who can no longer take care of themselves. Next will be Medicare and #SS. Trump care has given $157 Billion dollars to healthcare as CEO salaries and bonuses will be considered as expenses that can be written off. Plus a 30% penalty hike in premiums for those who go without insurance for 2 months. It is nothing more than a death penalty policy for those too sick or disabled to work.

The increase in the military budget and pork barrel spending, the corruption by the military industrial complex is bleeding the Americans taxpayer dry, increasing the national debt and cutting into social programs. Just Google: ‘Fat Leonard’

The F-35 fighter program cost taxpayers $1.5 Trillion dollars. It is over budget. It can’t fly, shoot, payload reduction. It is less superior to Russian SU fighters. The cost overuns could wipe out all student debt and pay for free college tuition for the next 6 yrs

The new aircraft carrier USS Gerald Ford at a cost of $138 Billion taxpayer dollars can’t launch or retrieve fighter jets. Has no defensive system that works and must be outside the battle zone. In WWII, the battleship became obsolete. The aircraft carrier is a sitting duck. It cannot defende against Chinese hypesonic ship to ship missles nor the supersonic nuclear torpedos. It’s air group is for short range fighter protection. Trump wants two more built!

So, yes, the FACTS (not opinions) show that despite throwing more money at the military, his actions are causing irreparable harm to our nation’s veterans who have already served. What shameful treatment of our veterans. Aside from the fact that the Marine Corps has apparently gone gay on his watch - literally.

Meanwhile, he continues to waste taxpayer money for Air Force One to fly him to his stupid golf vacations in Mar-a-Lago. Here are those estimate (the most current ones available, anyway), directly from the GAO:

please explain how he is doing irreparable harm to our nation’s veterans? Most veterans I know support him. Will an increase in VA funding do this irreparable damage? How about not having post mommy care at randomusers price?

Once a veteran commits suicide, he/she is dead - there’s nothing reparable about that. 🤷

Here’s what the Military Times (a pro-veteran source) says about the Meals on Wheels cut:
“Meals on Wheels serves 500,000 veterans each year. Any cuts to Meals on Wheels funding could cause programs to start waiting lists and cut back on the number of meals served,” said Jenny Bertolette, a spokesperson for Meals on Wheels. “This would no doubt effect veteran recipients in states that use those block grants to support Meals on Wheels.”

Shall local cities cut fire and emergency rescue services, too? I know this might be news to you, but there are people who get billed for debris removal from a car accident or charged for the fire department to put out a house fire because there’s no fire department (or police department) in their town. Not uncommon, actually. Very comparable to the priest shortage.

What about fixing roads? Should cities and counties drop funding the roads and bridges so they can pick up the tab for Meals on Wheels that Trump cut the veterans off from?
