Not sure what that has to do with Meals on Wheels. All of our local churches plus private citizens support our local Christian Care center that provides groceries to anyone in need. I’m sure our area would pick up where Meals on Wheels leaves off if it even does. Really sounds like more fear mongering

Tell that to West Virginia plus the fact Sec 8 affordable housing for veterans. It could directly impact one vulnerable group: formerly homeless veterans. In early 2015, the city announced it would end veteran homelessness by the end of the year, although it didn’t make that deadline. But as part of that effort, there are now about 3,000 formerly homeless veterans using rental vouchers. Those vouchers would be vulnerable to getting rescinded under such huge funding cuts.

I just went down the list of proposed cuts and Meals on Wheels is not on it. Nothing to do with veterans is on that list provided for us in a thread. What’s all this garbage about?
 
President Trump has done nothing but heap appreciation and praise on our service men and women. You think he’s gonna turn aruond and leave them in the dust and just make their lives miserable? From what I heard during the campaign and now, is he wants to make veteran’s lives better contrary to the malarcky posted here.

First off, this is Trump’s proposed budget. It still has to pass both House and Senate with final signature. Many changes can occur from the original bill. There are a lot of hidden cuts in agencies and prgram budgets not specifically mentioned. For instance, Trump proposed 17.9% slashe in HHS budgets mean slashes in prorgrams.

I really don’t think Meals on Wheels will be cut
 
Besides, the article says could, not will, but could affect veterans. They don’t know! They are just guessing like so many of these fear mongering stories we are treated to here at CAF
 
I mean really, Trump wants to pollute our air and water, wants to deny entry to all Muslims, wants to deny and even jack up post birth costs, whew, now he wants to starve the veterans. This is a busy guy! Wonder what’s next from the Twilight Zone?

It is all a matter of priorities. Did Obama and Hillary want to kill babies? of course you would think so. But in reality it came to the choice of a women to choose over the right to life. Where it comes to the budget, we can see our president’s priorities. The environment and the poor are not high on the list. Rather, what is good for business. The old thought is that once business thrives, the economy thrives and there are fewer poor people:rolleyes:. I think evidence has been in that trickle down doesn’t work. But no matter how you cut it the environment loses.

Meals on Wheels will be only be cut by 4% Heard that today by the budget director. Why all this fake doom and gloom and shameful use of Jesus words?

As someone who is emphatically not a Trump supporter, I have to agree that there are definitely people who blow things out of proportion or misrepresent what he’s proposing.

As a veteran, I also don’t like it when people use veterans as political footballs or objects of pity. If people receiving food assistance are vets, fine. But I don’t think that really makes them any better or worse than someone receiving assistance who isn’t.

Yes, I agree that one’s priorities are the key element. While in theory I have to believe Trump does not want to deprive the poor of what they need or pollute the environment, he has other priorities in mind, namely, as you state, making way for business and thus creating prosperity by means of growth. The latter is not a bad thing per se but, I think, if his plan works–and, as you note, “trickle-down” economic theory is dubious at best–it is based on long-term effects. Meanwhile, there are people in need right now who are dependent on short-term economic programs. And the environment should never be compromised in favor of economic growth.
 
So when will Trump supporters admit that there is no evidence of Obama wiretapping Trump?

Will they ever admit it? Are they capable of admitting it?
 
I still find it hard to believe there is a Russian investigation ongoing and no wires are tapped.

They already admitted Trump didn’t mean wiretapping when he literally Tweeted the word “wiretapping,” and now they think it may be microwaves but we don’t know for sure because we’re not Inspector Gadget. Or something like that.

Trump’s seriously putting SNL joke writers out of a job. You can’t make this stuff up.

He needs to tweet and speak more carefully. (No kidding. :doh2:) He is a very poor communicator if he doesn’t mean what he says. How are we supposed to know what he means?
