Trump 'cancels' Goodyear tires as he campaigns against 'cancel culture'

(CNN)President Donald Trump is calling on his followers to not buy Goodyear tires, despite previously railing against “cancel culture,” after an employee posted a viral photo of a company policy banning “Make America Great Again” and other political attire in the workplace.

“Don’t buy GOODYEAR TIRES - They announced a BAN ON MAGA HATS. Get better tires for far less! (This is what the Radical Left Democrats do. Two can play the same game, and we have to start playing it now!),” he tweeted Wednesday morning.

The tweet came in response to an employee who posted a photo, obtained by CNN affiliate WIBW, from a Topeka, Kansas, Goodyear plant that showed a slide during a training that “Black Lives Matter” and LBGT pride apparel were “acceptable” and “Blue Lives Matter,” “All Lives Matter,” “MAGA Attire,” and other political material were “unacceptable.”

Goodyear issued a statement following the President’s tweet stating “the visual in question was not created or distributed by Goodyear corporate,” but that it asks its associates to “refrain from workplace expressions in support of political campaigning for any candidate or political party, as well as similar forms of advocacy that fall outside the scope of racial justice and equity issues.”

Goodyear tires are made in the USA.

The same could be said of those who are accused of promoting a cancel culture. The things they “cancel” are not really cancelled either. So if Trump is not engaging in cancel culture, neither is anyone else.

He has been photographed riding in a car with good year tyres more then once.
 
A consumer boycott is not the same as a “cancel” in cancel culture. “Cancel culture” is more typical in academia, some workplaces, where certain things are"cancelled" by groupthink.
Consumer boycotts might or might not be acted on by individual consumers. Or the consumer might do the opposite, like happened in the attempted Chick-fil-A boycott.
 
The closet thing being cancelled by Trump is his victory in this important electoral state because of his juvenile impetuous tantrum, which is not going to sit well with the majority of Ohio blue collar workers.

Trump is advocating a boycott of an American business because they hurt his feelings.

And yet, people still support him.
 
An American company is telling its workers that it supports only certain political causes. They can only express left-wing points of view in the workplace. I think it’s okay for someone to call them on it.

I had a cousin who was in management with a Koch owned company. Don’t think for one minute that this can’t or doesn’t happen.
 
So where did the image come from? Who created / promoted it?
If they promote “equality” what does that mean? Does it mean they approve of Black Leftist Marxists? Does it mean “marriage equality”?
