After reading up a bit more on this topic, it seems Black Lives Matter is not deemed to be political in organization or nature, but Blue Lives Matter is political.

Can anyone explain this?

Basically anything identified with the left is called non political when needed.

How about we implement policy x?
I don’t think policy x is conducive to economic propserity.
Don’t be so ridiculous! That’s political. This isn’t a political policy. It’s just the right thing to do.

Etc.

It’s the same when people call for ‘decency’ and ‘civility’ in ‘dialogue’. What that really means is bowing to the left and political correctness and stating, effectively, “I acknowledge all of your views and perspectives to be correct and legitimate and the truth. Now let me tell you why I disagree.” It’s so neutered.
