We like him most!
It is difficult to understand good people liking him the most.
Many if not most folk here indicate that they had other favorites in the primaries and only voted for Trump in the fall.

I disagree with your clearly biased assessment. He’s not perfect but neither is he as vile as your portray, I’d happy buy the Sheriff a beer.

I don’t think of him as vile, but his acts are reminiscent of George Wallace on the University Steps.
I wish him the best, as Governor Wallace, in his metanoia.

Ahhh so it was, in effect, a metaphorical Faustian bargain, softened by the poor character as "personal pecadillos.
I requested the mods to allow us to apply NEGATIVE “dislikes” … so, this post now has 10 negative dislikes.

That we’re awful, awful people who should be shunned and have anathemas read against before every Mass.

Of course, I did not say that, but inc ase that is what you hear, and in case that I may have misread a particular posters meaning, I have deleted two posts.

I still wonder how good Republicans chose a man of such poor character as Trump. It is an ongoing puzzle why these pecadillos are overlooked or even defended.

The ultimate choice was Hillary vs. Trump.

Hillary has a trail of hundreds ( 150+/- ) of dead people who were inconvenient and who ended up strangely deceased. Plus “Clinton Cash” and Uranium One and Benghazi and the “Bimbo Eruptions” and the Clinton “Foundation” and the Haiti ripoff and Bill going after more interns and Saul Alinsky … and … and … “the basket of deplorables” …

From beginning to end.

With Trump we knew who we were getting.

[Unless you are counting the other 16 or so Republicans who campaigned so half-heartedly.]

[Unless you are not dismayed by how easily Jeb! folded.]

This is so vituperative, I find it amusing. Though I give it some grudging admiration for being very expressive and incomparable.
If someone wrote this about me, I would laugh about it.

This was by no means clear in the primaries. In fact there were many at the time who saw Trump as a shill to divide the Republicans and make it easier for Clinton. To say that Trump was opted for as the only one who could beat Hillary requires better than 20/20 hindsight.

With apologies to Theo520’s ladder, all that can be said is: Tin foil time.

This I’ve seen many times. You’ve posted it many times. While it was said bit of exagerration and poorly enough that it played into the hands of her enemies, I think that what she said was right. There are racists, sexists, homophobes and Islamophobes in this country. Trump has shifted the Overton window to bring more of these ideas into “normal” discourse - this according to the white nationalists that post here. I also agree that with her saying that the Democrats needed to reach out more to the others Trump supporters, with economic and social angst, who thought that the party cared about everuyone but them.

Nevertheless, she did say it!

In fact, it looks like she read it.

It accurately reflected her political beliefs and it cost her the election.

[Who wants someone who is that bitter and angry?]

Nevertheless, she did say it!
Yes she did. And she did believe it.
Did the opportunist that she gave others to twist these words cost her the election?
Perhaps - it was a handful of votes that got Trump into the White House. But I suspect that that die was cast before that speech in fact the speech was prescient about what the Democrats needed to do.

Nevertheless, it summarized her attitude … all the things that made her undesirable as a candidate.

Opposition to racism sexism, homophobia, Islamophobia, and empathy with those left behind in the new economy and only too slowly enjoying the recovery from the recession. That may have made her undesirable to you - and surely to racists, sexists, homophobes, and Islamophobes . But evidently not to 63 million other Americans.

Name-calling doesn’t necessarily mean that they exist … nor does name-calling stop them where they do exist.

It is interesting that you would call that name calling, when no one was called a name.
Do you honestly think that there are no racists, sexists, homophobes, and Islamophobes inn this nation?

Hillary is SUPPOSED to be a politician … she has been a politician all her life … and she lost to a NON-POLITICIAN.

As I said, we’re awful, awful people who should be shunned and have anathemas read against us before every Mass.
