Tell me what he JB said to Beto the guy who said “ h-ll yes we will take your ar-15s and ak47s…
And they did for veterans that were REDEFINED by the Obama administration as mentally defective because they needed help on some financial items (like tax returns).I spent most of the Obama presidency being told “Obama’s going to confiscate all your guns!!!”
do you deny he wanted to ban assault weapons?Don’t confuse NRA fundraiser pleas with Obama’s actual actions.
and he re-tweeted the Vox articleOn February 25, 2009, Attorney General Eric Holder declared,
As President Obama indicated during the campaign, there are just a few gun-related changes that we would like to make, and among them would be to reinstitute the ban on the sale of assault weapons. (mother jones)
To change the status quo, Democrats should go big. They need to focus on the abundance of guns in the US and develop a suite of policies that directly tackle that issue, from licensing to confiscation to more aggressive bans of certain kinds of firearms (including, perhaps, all semiautomatic weapons or at least some types of handguns).
In 2015, Obama told the BBC that his inability to pass gun laws had been “the one area where I feel that I’ve been most frustrated and most stymied."
it was 3 direct questions answered in the affirmativeNo, that is an inaccurate rumor based on a toss-off answer to a survey.
When Obama was running for the Illinois state senate in 1996, the Independent Voters of Illinois, a Chicago-based non-profit, issued a questionnaire asking if candidates supported legislation to “ban the manufacture, sale, and possession of handguns,” to “ban assault weapons” and to instate “mandatory waiting periods and background checks” for gun purchases. Obama answered yes on all three accounts.
try again (bold mine)If you research that conservative trope you can see if for what it is. You shouldn’t repeat rumors like that.
During 4/16 Dem. Debate, Obama Falsely Claimed His Handwriting Did Not Appear On Questionnaire. “Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., maintained at Wednesday’s ABC News debate in Philadelphia that his handwriting does not appear on a 1996 questionnaire stating support for a ban on the manufacture, sale, and possession of handguns. The Democratic presidential frontrunner made this claim even though a copy of the original document suggests otherwise. … When asked about the gun questionnaire with the handwriting on it, Obama adviser Robert Gibbs did not dispute that the writing was Obama’s.”
I guess this wasn’t Obama talking (bold mine)Don’t confuse NRA fundraiser pleas with Obama’s actual actions.
he just didn’t have the support to get it done. he is on record favoring the Australian model of eliminating mass shootings, what is the Australian model? confiscation.Second: Congress should restore a ban on military-style assault weapons, and a 10-round limit for magazines. (Applause.) The type of assault rifle used in Aurora, for example, when paired with high-capacity magazines, has one purpose – to pump out as many bullets as possible, as quickly as possible; to do as much damage, using bullets often designed to inflict maximum damage. (from “Remarks by the President and the Vice President on Gun Violence 2013”)
I do not vote on platforms, nor do platforms hold a president to anything.Have you read the platform?
Or, you can shape the court by “borking” nominees, or by attempting to smear the reputation because they are conservatives in general, black conservatives specifically. So, basically, you can shape the Court and the Federal judiciary by legally not bringing the other party’s nominees up for hearings and votes, but you can’t legally expand the number of the people on the Court.
Sure they can. Have a majority in the senate that is the same party as the president. That’s the matrix set up by Democrats over jthe last few decades and the Republicans just followed the lead. You can pick nominees who will, you hope, rule in favor of your policies and beliefs, but the other side can’t do that.
For every Bork there is a Scalia. Just sayin.Or, you can shape the court by “borking” nominees,
How would that constitute “confiscating all our guns,” the lie to which I clearly referred?guess this wasn’t Obama talking (bold mine)

I am so done with partisanship.Sure they can. Have a majority in the senate that is the same party as the president. That’s the matrix set up by Democrats over jthe last few decades and the Republicans just followed the lead.
He is a fan of the Australian model: confiscation. He has said it, why deny itHow would that constitute “confiscating all our guns,” the lie to which I clearly referred?
I knew of this for more than twenty years. You think this is a slam dunk? Obama was supported by many gunowners in IL, where he was a legislator. When asked about the gun questionnaire with the handwriting on it, Obama adviser Robert Gibbs did not dispute that the writing was Obama’s. ”
So what? Doesn’t change what he believesI knew of this for more than twenty years. You think this is a slam dunk? Obama was supported by many gunowners in IL, where he was a legislator.
Ah, so you have gone into the depths of what he believed. No matter that he said guns were not on his radar when he was elected and no matter that he never made a move to confiscate guns.So what? Doesn’t change what he believes
what he believed? no, what he said. you don’t believe the statements above are his?Ah, so you have gone into the depths of what he believed. No matter that he said guns were not on his radar when he was elected and no matter that he never made a move to confiscate guns.
You still know better.
No, those statements were far before when he was a backbencher in the IL senate and the issue was not really even before the legislature. Conservatives forgive all of Trump’s previous positions (and the racist campaign literature of Jesse Helms and of Ron Paul) but this is your ‘aha!’ moment? I think not.what he believed? no, what he said. you don’t believe the statements above are his?
you are in denial, he tried and failed
