Trump or Hillary?

I don’t think she’s electable regardless of who the opponent is.
There will be low information voters who vote for her because they want the first woman president, just like voters of the currebt president who wanted the first black president.

Yet we don’t want a hispanic president?

It most certainly will not be Hillary.

I have a very difficult time seeing any devote Catholic make a case for Hillary.

I can understand why a Catholic couldn’t support Trump…but to denounce him and turn to Hillary?

I’m sorry…but no. Stay home or do a write-in if you can’t stomach either.

I’m a Catholic and have no issues with my support behind Trump.

Hillary’s stance on abortion alone should stop any Catholic in their tracks.

At least Trump claims to be on the prolife side.

And before anyone jumps on me for his previous ideologies…I was a Catholic convert and had no problems with abortion once-upon-a-time.

People can and do change. I’m going with what Trump is saying now.

Like I said…I can understand a Catholic questioning Trump supporters but to do that and favor Hillary?

I certainly don’t begrudge anyone (Catholic or not) who chooses to vote for Trump. I just wonder if Catholics who may be appalled by both choices will stay home? - or will they vote for the lesser of two perceived Evils. I also wonder if the Pope will make a comment if it comes to those two candidates.

I’m Catholic and I’ll be voting for Clinton (though I’m Team Bernie).
It is Church teaching that we cannot support abortions in anyway.

We cannot support politicians who are in favor of abortions.

I’m truly dumbfounded that any self-proclaiming Catholic could support Clinton. She is 100% pro-abortion and pro-killing babies.

She wants open season on the murder of babies and makes no apologies for it.

Anyone who votes for a politician who supports the murder of babies supports abortion too.

This has been discussed ad nauseam on CAF, even within the last few weeks. Sorry to leave you “dumbfounded” but it seems very unlikely that doing it all again will lead to different viewpoints for either of us.

Sorry…I don’t always follow the new thread. It moves way too quick for me.

You’re right. It probably won’t change either of our minds.

I just seriously question any Catholic who supports a pro-abortion candidate.

👍

Well said, this really should be a “given” among Catholics and even among Christians.

There are real souls of people whose lives are snuffed out voting for some politicians.

If any democrat gets into office…it’s a literal death sentence for millions of innocent lives.

At least with a republican candidate…that can be mitigated.

Most recent polling shows Bernie or Hillary beating Trump. If Trump takes Super Tuesday as predicted, he’ll be the nominee. No candidate who has won out on Super Tuesday hasn’t been his party’s nominee since 1988.

So while it may be fear mongering, it’s backed by historical probability.
I don’t see any way that it will be anything but Donald v. Hillary.

The only chance the Republican establishment has of stopping a Trump coronation at the convention is for 3 of their candidates to drop out now and fall in line behind an establishment challenger. That wont happen though because they all covet the nomination too much to sacrifice their own candidacy.

Here’s my question about all this: how many of us are thinking “No matter who gets the Republican nomination, Hillary Clinton will be the next president”?
I’m hoping the FBI gives Bernie the nomination.

Even that strategy is not certain since a chunk of their followers would not do as instructed, instead they would move to Trump

True. Trump also made a thinly veiled threat to run as a third party candidate in the event of convention shenanigans so there really is no hope for the Republican establishment.

With the public support he’s receiving, would you blame Trump?
Bernie should really be much more irate at how the DNC primary was rigged for Hillary.

The DNC primary wasn’t rigged for Hillary. She’s winning because enough voters have decided that she should be the nominee. As for Trump, I don’t know what his end-game is. I don’t know if those threats are a negotiation tactic for dropping into a cabinet position or if he’s serious about going rogue. All I know is that, with the number of delegates and popular support he has, he won’t be walking away from that convention empty handed.

Yet both Martin O’Malley and Bernie disagreed with your assessment, huh.
But what do they know about the detailed workings of the DNC.

Is the Democratic Party Rigging the Election for Hillary … - Vice

They know that the DNC supports Hillary as much as the RNC hates Trump, but that doesn’t decide primaries. O’Malley is just a whiner who wouldn’t stand a chance if the DNC ran a corpse.

Is it just coincidence that Hillary’s only real competition this election cycle was Sanders? Seriously. 2008 was supposed to be Hillary’s year. It seems to me that when Obama surged out of nowhere and won IA, then piled up a small, but unpassable delegate lead in February, between the January primaries (which had FL’s and MI’s results nixed due to them refusing to abide by DNC rules) and March 2008’s Super Tuesday (where Clinton ended up winning the big states, while Obama won more states - and ended up tied in delegates received that day) and took the nomination from her (and then the Presidency in a year where even Satan himself would have won if he had a (D) after his name), the entire Democratic Party pretty much went out of their way to ensure Hillary’s nomination in 2016. Seriously. Why did so few people even try to challenge Hillary? Elizabeth Warren, who is pretty much a female Bernie Sanders, refused to run. Biden decided not to run. And at least 50% of DC Dems and Governors had endorsed Hillary before she even officially declared her campaign. The Dem voters are backing Hillary practically in default. Sure, Sanders is there, but he really only connects with younger, white, ultra liberal people in the Dem Party. In other words, the people who apologize for being “privileged”, but themselves have no money.

Hillary is closer to the center than any candidate from either party and, the important thing being, people know who she is. Sanders started out as an unknown, wasn’t even part of the Democratic Party before his candidacy, and is far left of Hillary. He had to start from the ground up. Few people believed him to be a viable candidate in the beginning, but he does have a lot of popular support. He is more popular among millennials, independents, and minorities.
