Trump Steps Up Attacks on Mail Vote, Making False Claims About Fraud

Keep supporting the anarchists and leftist progressives and you will soon taste for yourself that what you thought was true wasn’t what you supposed it to be.

I’m not supporting the anarchists and I really am not progressive. I am a former Republican conservative who simply wants his party back.

However, the past four years of Trump rule has me not wanting to ever vote for a Republican again. That, combined with a desire to do right for the poor and underserved, do have me swinging a little left of center, it seems. Not socialist. Not “leftist”. Just distancing myself from the party of the autocrats stomping on the Constitution.

You don’t think the riots across the US have been orchestrated by those with the resources and influence to marshal large numbers of “stooges” to do their bidding? Clearly the press is in cahoots with those who are attempting to “recreate” the nation according to their aspirations?

No and no.

Why on earth would peaceful lockdown protesters be deemed a “threat” to the safety of the nation just a week ago, but violent rioters be accorded a pass despite that the violent rioters have wantonly murdered a number of people on the street?

I don’t know of any wanton killings. There was FAR less violence toward individuals than there was in '67 and '68. Looters and rioters did not get a pass from the press recently. Most were not armed by the way.

It would be refreshing to have some honesty on all of Trump’s apparently “false or misleading” comments — especially regarding whether the supposed fact-checking by WaPo is any less false or misleading than Trump’s original comment. 99.9% of those apparent “facts” being checked were opinions on both the part of Trump and WaPo

Well sir, there are far too many instances of Trump inaccuracies to write them all off as opinions or gaffes. Trump made bald-faced lies and he exaggerates situations for his own benefit. That is evident. His credibility (through those tweets and throw off lines) is very low.

Did you see his immature response to Mattis? I thought that Trump next would start talking about Mattis’ mama! Trump never addressed the issue, which was his threatening to summon the military.

I think the funniest thing about Trump attacking voting by mail is that he initially registered to vote in Florida using an out of state address (1600 Penn.) When that was questioned, he changed it to Mar-a-largo, which if that is his residence, he can’t use it as a hotel based on zoning. If it is a hotel, than it can’t be his residence.

Maybe that is why he knows so much about it, he may have committed the crime himself.

It has to do with the zoning of Mar-a-Lago, not hotels in general

Consider the President, being the CInC, as being in the military and on military orders precluding him from being at the designated polling place on that specific day.

I haven’t done any research yet, but as someone who will be a first time voter this election if i register in time, this is my opinion. If they aren’t going to make voting day a state or national holiday so everyone gets off work and can go vote, i think mail in voting is a good idea! Plus it allows people to vote who might have a very hard time getting to the poles otherwise; people who are elderly or disabled or don’t have a car or adequate transportation, hospitalized people, etc.

Obama’s legal residence was not a golf course or country club. Plus, I think the picture shows him early voting, which is available in other than one’s neighborhood.

Trump has been criticized validly by many for the number and frequency of his jaunts off to Florida or elsewhere.

Even if it is legal for Trump to vote in Florida, one has to wonder about the hypocrisy of denying mail-in voting for millions of ordinary citizens while availing himself of the convenience of mail-in balloting in the last Florida election.

There is currently a set of rules. Some people with certain specific extenuating circumstances can vote by mail.

It is not hypocrisy ro be against expansion of voting by mail even if you vote by mail when those circumstances apply to you.

There is no extenuating circumstance for Trump. He goes to Florida when he wants to play golf there. Extenuating circumstances are like disabled, or deployed in the military. Presidents throughout history have voted in person.

You say there is currently a set of rules. Actually, every state has their own rules. Many of them right now allow mail-in balloting for any reason whatsoever.

Most states allow for certain people to not be in the state for 6 months to vote, especially people in the services or ex-pats. Presidents generally come under that rule because states like that a President is from their state and they realize they have to be in D.C.

I don’t know that I’ve ever heard of a President changing his residency after he became President.

Trump doesn’t seem to have a legal domicile in the state of Florida as Mars Largo is not a residence. It would be like me saying that I can vote in Ohio because I own a storage facility there even though I might occasionally stay overnight in Ohio to make sure that the storage facility is being run correctly. That is problematic. I would think that, if Trump were Democratic, we would be hearing about how it is an example of voter fraud.
