Khan’s father said something odd in an interview: something about America’s “golden star mother.” Hillary Clinton was asked about it in an interview yesterday and she said she had no clue what that means.

Was he referring to Patricia Smith?

I just read that Mr. Trump is continuing his war against the Khans with new tweets this morning. As a Democrat, I didn’t vote for the last two Republican candidates, but I still have some respect for Sen. McCain and Mr. Romney. But Donald Trump just seems to have no boundaries and no point to which he can’t sink. I can’t imagine how he could possibly manage the political give and take or the decorum expected of a president.

What I find particularly disturbing about Donald Trump’s comments on the Khan family is comments he directed to Mr. Khan’s wife.

“If you look at his wife, she was standing there,” Trump said. “She had nothing to say. She probably, maybe she wasn’t allowed to have anything to say. You tell me.”

This comment is particularly offensive in that he is deriding another person’s culture. Instead of unifying America he is actively engaged in a campaign to divide people and to appeal to the lowest common denominator of prejudice and bias.

I am going to vote for Donald Trump for Hillary Clinton is not a viable alternative for me but I am going to hold my nose as I vote for him.
He’s not the only Republican speaking out against Trump on this particularly stupid gaffe. Both McConnell and Ryan have both come out supporting the Khans as well.

Trump really stepped in it with this particular issue.

I just really want something to stick to the bottom of his shoe for a change. I feel like either the country has gone crazy or Trump has sold his soul to the devil. How anybody can defend him is beyond me.

Baffles me as well. There are some speculating that the recent re-release of his wife’s porn photos from the 90’s was a calculated move on his part to try and take attention away from the fact he has been disrespecting a fallen serviceman and his family. But so far it’s not sticking. The Khan thing thus far has stuck to his shoe so to speak. And his continuing to bring it up isn’t helping it go away either. He’s in the wrong in this instance but he seems incapable of shutting his mouth on the issue because he’s made “kicking the Muslims out” a central part of his campaign strategy.

Curiouser and curiouser.

People who vote for Trump over Hillary because of his prolife position are being duped.
It’s not Trump’s pro-life position. It’s his constituents, the people in his cabinet, and the people he says he’ll appoint.

He didn’t say no when asked if he was ever involved with anyone who had an abortion.

“Such an interesting question,” he said. “So what’s your next question?”

Wow, that would be one hell of a kicker if it is confirmed that Trump was involved with someone who had an abortion. It really does beg the question why he wouldn’t answer the question. And knowing in the past he was pro-choice it makes one wonder even more. I mean Trump has only been “pro-life” ostensibly since he started running for president, and knowing him he’s only “pro-life” because it benefits his political aspirations at present.

And how to do trust that he’ll appoint people that hold those positions? Knowing he’s been pro-choice in the past, and particularly if it comes to light he’s been involved with one or more abortions personally? I mean the only evidence we have that he’s pro-life, is that he says he’s pro-life. But talk is cheap, particularly in light of mounting evidence to the contrary…

Because of things Abyssinia has been posting.

But, you’re right, I don’t think it’s a very strong hope. But, as a pro-lifer, it defies reason to vote for Clinton.

At this point in time, nothing would surprise me. Yesterday I wondered who he had left to tick off. As it turns out the Ukrainian Americans aren’t likely to vote for him and they usually go Republican He was woefully ignorant on the situation in Ukraine and made questionable statements in the party platform. He does not represent the GOP in a multitude of ways. .

Vote for Hillary.

That’s the only way the very, very scary Trump won’t be elected to the most powerful position in the country.
My husband does civilian contracting with defense. He’s more scared by Hillary. As a pro-lifer, I’m more scared by Hillary.

But, neither of those reasons are really a vote of confidence in Trump. While I am not ready to throw in the towel, I think we all should be wearing sackcloth and ashes.
