It’s not an attack on anyone. LOL I think Melania Trump is pretty, and she seems nice enough. Trump himself has said women “have to be young and beautiful.” That’s a quote from him. Melania is no longer young, and some say she is no longer beautiful since she’s now middle-aged.
Time to trade her in for a new model then! (Just kidding.)

Megyn Kelly’s original questions to Trump, 1st debate, August 2015
  1. "Mr. Trump, one of the things people love about you is you speak your mind and you don’t use a politician’s filter. However, that is not without its downsides, in particular, when it comes to women. You’ve called women you don’t like ‘fat pigs,’ ‘dogs,’ ‘slobs’ and ‘disgusting animals.’ …
Your Twitter account has several disparaging comments about women’s looks. You once told a contestant on ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ it would be a pretty picture to see her on her knees.
Does that sound to you like the temperament of a man we should elect as president, and how will you answer the charge from Hillary Clinton, who was likely to be the Democratic nominee, that you are part of the war on women?"
(all comments and words are from Trump, public record)
  1. “Mr. Trump, in 1999, you said you were, quote, ‘very pro-choice.’ Even supporting partial-birth abortion. You favored an assault weapons ban as well. In 2004, you said in most cases you identified as a Democrat. Even in this campaign, your critics say you often sound more like a Democrat than a Republican, calling several of your opponents on the stage things like ‘clowns’ and ‘puppets.’ When did you actually become a Republican?”
(All Kelly’s assertions are accurate, public record, based on Trump’s comments.)

I’m taking a break from the forum till Easter Monday.

Happy Easter everyone!

**Poll: Nearly half of Republican women wouldn’t vote for Trump
A new survey of women voters suggests a general election contest between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton could be disastrous for the Republican Party.
Nearly half of the female Republican electorate (47 percent) currently has a difficult time imagining voting for Trump as the Republican presidential nominee, according to the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.
**
Far fewer say the same of Trump’s two remaining opponents, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (32 percent) and Ohio Gov. John Kasich (27 percent).
**Trump also has the worst favorability rating among female voters overall of any remaining Republican presidential hopeful. Seventy percent of women voters harbor negative views of the brash New York billionaire, compared to just 21 percent who view him favorably.
Moreover, the tendency among women voters to lean Democratic became even more pronounced when they were asked to consider a Trump versus Clinton matchup.
In that scenario, 31 percent of women would vote for Trump, while 58 percent would choose Clinton.**
While the survey was released in mid-March, Trump has come under fire this week for posting a threatening tweet against Cruz’s wife Heidi after falsely accusing the Texas senator of circulating a provocative image of Trump’s wife.
The tweet has since caused a heated feud between Cruz and Trump, leading ex-White House hopeful Lindsey Graham on Thursday to advise the duo to “knock this **** off.”

Besides his unfavorables with women, add to the list Trump’s unfavorables with the Latino electorate, 80% unfavorable the last I saw, and everyone else he has alienated, and it’s looking better by the day for Hillary. No wonder the GOP has a stop him movement.

I agree, but would Cruz do much better? He doesn’t make the outlandish statements Trump makes, well not most of the time, but he’s so unlikable.

Edit: Only Fox has Cruz beating Clinton, and there’s no surprise there:

Trump versus Clinton, it’s a runaway victory for Clinton, even Fox agrees:

I disagree. That was a question that will be asked of him if he is the nominee in one way or another. You can be sure Hillary will mention it.

According to this poll Cruz does better with women Republicans by about 15 points, Kasich by 20 points.

In the links I posted, the election would be much closer with Cruz than it would be with Trump. So I can understand that the Democrats want Trump to run, the Republicans want Cruz.

This is not looking good for the GOP and their chances at winning the presidency.

I agree - this Megyn Kelly thing is such a dead end. It makes a lot of women furious, not just Kelly or Fox News or whoever. I don’t even watch her show that much and I think it is so completely out of line, really inappropriate. I would actually use the word ‘creepy.’

Thank you for posting that.

Unfortunately, it is also true that human nature is to believe something if it is repeated often enough, and I’ve quite lost track of how many times claims like “Trump does well among women” and “Trump does well among minorities” have been on CNN, Foxnews etc.

Trump himself has repeated he does well among Latinos overall simply because he has received support from Latin Republicans in NV or whatever state. He doesn’t seem to grasp the concept that not all Latinos have been voting Republican though in recent yrs and polls have shown 80% of Latinos have unfavorable views of him. But I suppose you have a point. If he keeps repeating it, he believes it.

First, the Nevada GOP caucuses were closed to people not already registered as Republicans – that means Trump won the subset of Latino voters who were already Republicans. What’s more, according to the entrance polls, just 8% of the voters taking part in the GOP caucuses said they were Latinos.
The full sample size of voters captured by the polls was 1,573. That means Trump’s claim that he is “No. 1 with Hispanics” is based on about 125 registered Republicans.

I’m not saying anything about what Trump believes or doesn’t believe. But I am talking about TV and CAF and other media causing people to believe Trump is doing extremely well through simple repetition.
