No. I don’t think Cruz would be much better for the GOP chances. I think of the 3 remaining, they need to choose Kasich for their absolute best shot in the general. But then they risk alienating Trump and Cruz supporters. I know there are many on the “right” who insist they do in fact need to run someone more extreme such as Cruz to win a general election. But I have never bought into that idea. I’m not convinced any Republican after Bush could have beaten Obama and in 2012 he was a sitting POTUS running for reelection whom the GOP was attempting to oust. Which is never an easy task. That’s why this yr I think they should run a Kasich for their best chances. Someone who would appeal to be less extreme and who might appeal to more independents or moderates in a general election. Cruz doesn’t seem to me to fit the bill. In the light of Trump and Cruz, Hillary only appears more the civil adult in the room and more moderate.I agree, but would Cruz do much better? He doesn’t make the outlandish statements Trump makes, well not most of the time, but he’s so unlikable.
Edit: Only Fox has Cruz beating Clinton, and there’s no surprise there:

Trump versus Clinton, it’s a runaway victory for Clinton, even Fox agrees:
