The whole maneuvering of the Republican Party now is like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.
Heck yeah! If the Clinton-Trump you-have-to-vote-for-one-of-us narrative that the media is pushing becomes a reality, Cruz supporters will long for a Kasich nomination and vice versa.

Speaking of Trump, I just happened to learn that the donaldjtrumppolls website has a page with two columns headed “Those working against Trump and the majority” and “Those backing Trump and the people”. So this got me thinking: was there a famous quote like “Democracy is people doing what I say”, or something like that? Does anyone remember?
P.S. Alright, I haven’t been able to find a quote like that.

But there is the old “Teamwork is a bunch of people doing what I say”, which I think could be adapted here: to Mr. Trump majority means “a bunch of people doing what I say”. 👍

Absolutely (and in more ways than one).

Yesterday I heard Newt Gingrich call DJT a “great” candidate (not “awful” or even “mediocre” mind you, but “great”) which is his right, of course, under the first amendment; but check out what he said in the middle of April 2012:

Gingrich Insists Republican Primary Isn’t Over
I wouldn’t put a lot of stock into his comments. It’s scary how these politicians one moment hate each other, the next moment their kissy kissy.

Do you mean that it could go the other way too? I.e. that Gingrich is kissy kissy now, but could forget about that if Trump’s “teflon” wears off someday?

Thank you!!

Some got upset a few weeks ago because I said that the thread “Melania Trump: I don’t approve of Donald’s language” and the thread “Melania Trump: I followed the law as immigrant” didn’t interest me, and because I didn’t explain why I “needed” (huh? 🤷) to say that. I mean give me a break.

Frankly, some discussions on the web can get a little ridiculous.
P.S. Now CBS has Five things to know about Melania Trump. I guess there still trying to help Trump get the nomination.

Because its all a show, fake and phony.
We elect a figurehead who answerable only to the elite in this country.

He sure could, Man is fickle.

I put no absolute trust in Trump, Cruz or any other man.

Without a doubt. I haven’t read much into Jeb bush endorsing Cruz, but I applaud bush. He went after trump and didn’t back him like Christie or Carson. He kept it real and I respect that.

If I was voting for a republican tomorrow it would be kasich. I know people don’t consider him a true conservative but, he is in my opinion better suited to run against Clinton or sanders.

I think that sometimes the GOP establishment is so convinced that they have “Rockefeller Republicans” (i.e. moderates) in the bag that they only worry about appeasing the Right Wing. :o

Normally I would reject such an idea, but this year I’ve been starting to wonder. Heck, Obama and the Democrats can be as awful as they please, and the consequence is that they’re standing strong and the other party is practically in shambles.

I’m the opposite. I used to embrace that idea, but now I reject it.

I think that when you please either wing. You alienate a bigger number of people. True, the wing whether is liberal or conservative is your base, your foundation, but majority of people are not too conservative or too liberal. Their in the threshold of being slightly conservative or slightly liberal.

But you know democrats hit lows with Reagan then in the first part of W’s administration. They literally fell busted their mouth and were down. Not everything democrats stand for is right. But they do have an interest for the country just like republicans. It’s just a matter that both parties take a deep breath and do what is right for the country not their friends and bank accounts.

It could mean that Gingrich thinks Trump is running a good campaign, not that he himself appeals to Gingrich. We sometimes read what we want to into a statement. I agree with Gingrich on the campaign. As much as I do not like Trump, he is running a masterful campaign. Look at all the people he has captured when most of them are in a collective snit and not thinking about what he might do. He has spoken in glowing terms about what he is going to do, but no specifics about how he is going to do it.
