You are distorting what trump said and you know it.
People in the media shouldn’t be given a pass. They have too much power. Trump must fight to win.
So do all the candidates, but they don’t stoop to bullying and name calling. Trump is the current front runner. He should show more class.

Sanders never bullies anyone. I can’t think of one instance of bullying or name calling he’s indulged in. Hillary, either, and she is attacked more than Trump!

A teleprompter seems to help too - and someone else writing the speeches. Maybe eloquence and policy have their place in politics after all. (I am a little leery of taking out NATO though, given the unrest in Europe; the blowback on that one will be interesting)

No, I actually thought he said that until pnewton corrected me.
I wonder who put the distortion in your head then? Could it be none other than the media? And then trump had to be blamed for calling the media liars?

So when trump’s critics call him racist, fascist, hitler, white supremacist, bigot, stupid, egomaniac, and other names, it’s free speech and you revel in it, but Trump can’t fight back and enjoy his own free speech?

There is no way Trump can win the election if he doesn’t push back against some of the media characters.
He’s not defending himself or his record from people calling him ‘fascist’ etc., he’s engaging in character assassination against people who have criticized him for specific things like skipping a debate. Big difference.

Cruz slams Trump in wake of Brussels attack
Texas Sen. Ted Cruz on Tuesday slammed his GOP presidential rival Donald Trump in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Brussels for calling for a diminished U.S. role in the NATO alliance just a day earlier.
“It is striking that the day after Donald Trump called for weakening NATO, withdrawing from NATO, we see Brussels, where NATO is headquartered, the subject of a radical Islamic terror attack,” Cruz said Tuesday in a news conference hours after terrorists struck civilian targets in Brussels, where the North Atlantic Treaty Organization is headquartered.
"Donald Trump is wrong that America should withdraw from the world and abandon our allies. Donald Trump is wrong that American should retreat from Europe, retreat from NATO, hand Putin a major victory and while he’s at it hand ISIS a major victory," Cruz said.
Cruz’s comments come as the states of Arizona and Utah are voting Tuesday in the Republican presidential race and as the Texas senator looks to close Trump’s lead in the delegate count.
Trump on Monday deplored U.S. spending on NATO in an interview with The Washington Post’s editorial board, calling for a diminished U.S. role in the military alliance in favor of stepped up contributions from other NATO countries.

Thanks, Ted. Donald, knowingly or unknowingly, headed a little too Ron Paul, libertarian here. Not great timing either. We can’t afford to elect Trump (or Bernie) in this world. Too dangerous.

I think its a fair conclusion to draw from his remarks. He said that Mexican immigrants are rapists and criminals, but that he assumes some are good people. That suggests that he believes most are criminals and rapists. I don’t know what other conclusion can be drawn from what he said.

I really don’t like to hear Trump call Cruz a liar. But when I read things like the quoted portion below which you posted from another source, I can understand why he does. Rubio, of course, called him one as well.
  1. Trump didn’t call for “weakening” of NATO, but he did say other countries should bear more of the cost of their own defense.
  2. Trump didn’t call for “withdrawing” from NATO.
  3. Trump has not called for “withdrawing from the world” or abandoning our allies or handing Putin or ISIS a major victory .

He didn’t say Mexican immigrants are rapists and criminals. To put that in his mouth is dishonest. Check your source.

According to some posters here, trump is dangerous no matter what he says or does.

And have you ever noticed, it doesn’t matter what question cruz is asked, he always comes around to criticizing trump?

Trump wants to reduce US spending abroad on foreign affairs. That aligns with isolationism and llibertarianism, Pat Buchanan, Ron Paul. Also populism. Also Bernie Sanders. This position is consistent (or as consistent as you’re gonna get) with Trump’s message all along.

Of course Cruz, clever politician that he is, would capitalize on this tragic event, knowing that most people are not likely to examine the nuances of what a rival candidate, in this case Trump, may be proposing, particularly during the immediate aftermath of a terrorist attack. It seems that politics does trump all else.

Since when is Donald Trump not Christian? And I don’t think a Catholic is obligated to vote for a Christian.
Of course we’re not. We should seriously consider Catholic principles in deciding for whom to vote, but that certainly doesn’t mean we’re obliged to vote for a Catholic. So, for example, protestant George Bush was closer to Catholic principles than was Catholic John Kerry. A Mormon (sort of tangentially Christian, but not exactly) or a Jew might well be more in line with Catholic principles as well.

I heard it with my own ears, thanks.
Something needs checking. he didn’t say that. First of all he was talking about illegal immigrants. Secondly, he’s saying many of these illegals were criminals, not all.

No pun intended, of course. Right? 🙂
