HIS OWN LAWYER says that. Lawyers advocate for their clients.

(It’s also ironic that his lawyer gets believed, but the one on this board (me!) gets called names ("you’d fail any law school exam!). Just sorta sayin…

He is still in hospital with a brain injury from this event. I am sure the lawyer will be taking action, given he has issued that statement as a public statement.

As I said: I don’t doubt he actually hit his head hard. I disbelieve his fall was caused by the police.

I don’t need a political fact checker to tell me what I observe with my own eyes: His “fall” looks like a flop. I have no doubt his injuries happened; I just doubt his fall was caused by the police.
Well, the rest of us, including the superiors who suspended the officers, saw a man - with a solid character reference from his own bishop - get violently shoved to the sidewalk.
.

The video in my eyes: This is a big hullabaloo about nothing. It was a basic shove after he waved his phone bizarrely over the cops. The cops were marching and he got in the way. What’s the fuss? It’s sad he’s in such poor health but it’s not like he was just peacefully assembling with a flower in his hand saying peace. He was obstructing cops and got a shove. Accidents happen. They immediately called for help when they saw his injury. What else is there to do except say my bad?

Nope. You won’t convince me.

Final point: Mr. Old Hippie was probably in his glory all afternoon long on the day in question: He hated the police (his tweet, remember); he was looking for “fun” (his own words); he knew police nationwide were showing lots of restraint (“superhuman passivity”); he saw a chance to be the center of attention and rush up to these cops (notice he picked someone smaller than himself) & agitated by grabbing at the cop’s gun belt.

Sheesh, that’s way more fun than something dry like a 4-person protest about drone use in Syracuse, NY; or wasting days in low-level criminal court & playing jailhouse lawyer for some kid protesters!

I’d venture that till this day no one cared a whit about this guy.

The old hippie never once imagined a cop might actually raise his hands in defense, and he flopped over. Am I happy he got hurt? Absolutely not - plus these cops now face unfair criminal charges. But I do hope this agitator’s tale serves to wake up people as to what a life of basically low-level rabble rousing, and hating on police, with too much time and nothing better to do, can lead to.

Wow. Cynicism seems to be in full swing tonight. Do you believe the sincerity of anything a bishop says or does . . . ?
Sorry I tend to be cynical by nature. All I’m saying is, I’m sure my bishop would give me a glowing review even though I’ve never met him.

When it comes to a bishop talking about faith and morals I try to be obedient. When it comes to other things I’m cautious. Just my nature.

To be fair what is a bishop gonna say? “Oh he’s an old jerk. Forget him.”
He easily could say nothing, for starters.

And to be clear, I have a hard time trusting the sincerity of anyone.

That’s true. For all I know him and his bishop are best pals.
Isn’t that kind of the nature of evidence.about peoples character? It comes from those who know a person? I suppose the smear campaigners are going to look.for dirt on the bishop too now.

Look, do me a favour and look up the picture called 'Flower Power. Taken in 1967 at the height of some very strident and sometimes violent protests, to equal anything today. You will see protestors and armed (military, I think?) a’ll at very close quarters. A protestor chooses to stick a flower in the barrel.of a (soldier’s?)gun.

Reault? Nothing. No panic.about her "acting weird’ or ‘brandishing an object’ or ‘accosting an officer’, no fear iof what the crowd around her might be up to, and certainly no shoving!

That photo would be my answer to the question ‘how can they be expected to chill’. Thise who are suited for the job.and.properly trained for it can and.do.

I’ve seen it. I was referencing it in a post above about this guy not standing there with a flower saying peace.

The most that can be said is that he had a history of arrests (which presumably the police were not aware of - in any case were.they for.offnces involving.violence? Was he convicted of anything? Has he been charged with anything now, given the police have had ample.time.to do so?).

Who was ‘acting weird’’. There are a lot of peopke out there who act equally weird - since when is that an excuse for getting physical? Since when is that even an excuae.for asuspecting ill intent?

Are you really saying you saw nothing weird in what he was doing with his phone? Come on.

Weird is.not the same as threatening. Certainly not illegal. If he was the latter, why no charges?
It certainly seemed odd to the cops. Not to mention they were marching and he was obstructing them. It was a simple push. From the way people described it here you’d think he used both arms straight out running up to the guy to push him as far as possible.
