Mounting a stage at a public park in downtown Dallas, Marco Rubio pulled out his phone before a crowd of more than 3,000 and began reading from Donald Trump’s Twitter account.
In an extended opening to his stump speech on Friday, Rubio relentlessly mocked the Republican frontrunner for misspelling a series of tweets.
“Just like Trump Tower, he must have found a foreign worker to do his own tweets,” Rubio quipped.
theguardian.com/us-news/2016/feb/27/marco-rubio-donald-trump-super-tuesday-primaryIt was the sort of theatricality usually associated with Trump, the bombastic showman. But bravado is clearly catching in the Republican primary race, where with only four states decided, there is mounting hysteria that Donald J Trump’s hostile takeover of the Republican party is a done deal.
Rubio was reading out tweets to the crowd from Trump, one of them said, “Lightweight Marco Rubio was working hard last night. The problem is, he is a choker, and once a choker, always a chocker! Mr. Meltdown.”
“Let me tell you something. Last night in the debate during one of the breaks, two of the breaks, he went backstage, he was having a meltdown,” said Rubio.

Then, then he asked for a full length mirror…maybe to make sure his pants weren’t wet.”
The last two terms may be evidence to the contrary.I didn’t get the memo that you are the judge and the case is finalized.
Fact of the matter is, voters are not fools…
I agree that he’d be foolish not to.Count on Rubio to keep “Trump University” in the forefront of the campaign. He’d be foolish not to, as a matter of fact.
Trump’s been in the public eye for 30+ years. I’m not sure how anybody can argue that he hasn’t been vetted. He’s been vetted more thoroughly than Rubio.Yes, that’s the question alright.
Did I hear Rubio speaking this morning? I think so, saying perhaps Trump is not properly vetted.
Precisely. Which is a sad state of affairs for this country that a sizable minority of people think he is fit to be president.Trump’s been in the public eye for 30+ years. I’m not sure how anybody can argue that he hasn’t been vetted. He’s been vetted more thoroughly than Rubio.
Trump is a bully, but a lot of his supporters seem to like that.Precisely. Which is a sad state of affairs for this country that a sizable minority of people think he is fit to be president.
With his enormous online platform, Mr. Trump has badgered and humiliated those who have dared to cross him during the presidential race. He has latched onto their vulnerabilities, mocking their physical characteristics, personality quirks and, sometimes, their professional setbacks. He has made statements, like his claims about Ms. Jacobus, that have later been exposed as false or deceptive — only after they have ricocheted across the Internet.
nytimes.com/2016/02/27/us/politics/donald-trump.html?_r=0Many recipients of Mr. Trump’s hectoring are fellow politicians, with paid staff members to help them defend themselves. But for others, the experience of being targeted by Mr. Trump is nightmarish and a form of public degradation that they believe is intended to scare off adversaries by making an example of them.
Yes, he’s a terrible bully, and yes, it’s too late for Rubio unless the Republicans have a brokered convention. Then he has a chance.Trump is a bully, but a lot of his supporters seem to like that.

Hopefully, Cruz will get the nomination before then.Yes, he’s a terrible bully, and yes, it’s too late for Rubio unless the Republicans have a brokered convention. Then he has a chance.
Good for Trump, if anyone are the bullies, it’s the mainstream media and they’ve been called out as being untrustworthy and Trump stands up to them.Trump is a bully, but a lot of his supporters seem to like that.

I think he’ll take Texas from Trump, but I don’t think Cruz will get the nomination. We should be able to gauge this more after Super Tuesday, and especially after March 15th. Right now, I suppose Cruz has a better chance at a brokered convention than Rubio does.Hopefully, Cruz will get the nomination before then.
I’m not a Rubio fan, but it was a pretty good speech from Rubio, and it really did call out Donald Trump.
