I think I understand why people in the establishment do not like Cruz… He preaches.

Oh, I don’t even think he’ll be the nominee.
It doesn’t matter. He has tapped into a nerve in Amreicans that seems to be giving him the momentum to win with or with out the nomination.

What Romney said. Except no one really knows about Trump’s taxes because so far, he won’t release them.
The thing is that I don’t believe Trump did anything illegal with his taxes.
What people may not know understand or understand about Trump is that he does not make himself who he is by doing things ileagely. Well Indont believe he does. I believe he does it by using the system and doing things leagaly. So even if he did release his taxes I don’t believe anything ileagel would be found. He is just very savey and knows how to play the system and people too it seems.

I don’t think people believe he did anything illegal with regard to the IRS. He’s been bragging how many multimillions he gave to charities, and people, including Mitt Romney, don’t believe he gave a thing.

It’s not very savvy to lie, if that’s what he did. It’s not very savvy to “tease” the public. He says he’ll release his taxes. He should just go ahead and do it and stop with the excuses.

The article states that it is foreign policy that the Republicans fear with Trump. Foreign Policy experts in the Republican Party believe that Trump will destroy America’s position with his policies. They believe that Hillary, as bad as she is, will do less internation damage, while they feel that Trump will hurt us internationally very badly and that he will destabilize the entire Asian Pacific.

The party is willing to risk the damage Hillary will do domestically over the damage they feel Trump will do internationally.

The damage that Trump could do internationally is precisely why people outside the US are aghast at the prospect of him being President. More than aghast - just disbelieving that you could take such a risk. Trump is a con-man, not a politician. He wouldn’t know the meaning of diplomacy.
He’ll do more damage to the US if he gets in and pursues the sort of foreign policies he’s been outlining that a lot of Trump supporters seem capable of believing.
He’s a clever man, no doubt. Knows how to press the right buttons. Patriotism (“America will be great again!” - [it is already, folks!], racial fear, anger, disaffectedness, and who knows what else.

It reminds me of Hitler’s tactics in the 1930s - which has been said by some of your own commentators.

Surely he’d be worse than anything Hillary could do?? FWIW, she’s probably respected more outside the US than you’d imagine. And of course, I can only look in from the outside.

The debate tonight is shameful. Why don’t they cut the microphone after the allotted time? It sounds like a pro wrestling match.

👍

Romney just said what was true.
Romney said what was agreeable to you.

I already cited a couple instances of Romney’s speech that were simply conjectures: trump’s tax, the secret NY times tape.

But you have overlooked the instances of Romney’s speech that was objectively true, like his blatant dishonesty in saying he say thousands of Muslims in New Jersey celebrating 9/11.

I didn’t know he was claiming that. I’m sure he may have. It would still fall into him being business savey. One of the biggest reasons business men/women and companies give to charities is to get thier name out there. It’s a smart business move.

Maybe he should maybe he shouldn’t. I just don’t believe there is really anything there that will tarnish his image.

If he said there were hundreds of them celebrating, would you be happier?

Romney like the other republicans and some democrats are only now joining the fight against Trump. Trump roared in on his glib tongue criticizing everyone and everything in sight, spurting rhetoric to cover all relevant positions and American values. No one figured him out till now when it may be too late to do anything about it. Either Trump or his handlers took advantage of the American nievate to attract people who want change but he will be the same as all politicians before him and probably after him. Politicians promise things they have no chance of delivering. They must deal with the congress and senate to get things done but he has already turned them off. Sorry No Wall this time.
God bless America and I:confused: pray for deliverence for mankind.
