The point I was addressing was this whopper ā āTrumps position completely aligns with Catholic teaching.ā ā in message #1457:I see that; but now, if we could take abortion connections, facilities out of Planned Parenthood are we now demanding they can not dispense contraception?
Marco Rubio has even separated contraception from abortion, calling it a personal issue and Rick Santorum separated contraception from abortion. One is getting into a sticky area if one is now insisting Planned Parenthood follow Catholic theology to a t.
I brought up the abortifacient issue which seems problematic.
But at the least, letās not fuse contraception and abortion together as the same service.
Spot on. Iāve been there as a Democrat. The irony is that at least as a Democrat you come out ok on caring for the poor, immigration, foreign policy (limited use of military means to end conflict) gun control, death penalty, the environment, health care for all, progressive taxes (government programs and regulation). You get burned on social issues, birth control, abortion and traditional marriage (and now add religious liberty), that is it. And the fact is that most āliberalā Catholics, or at least in my case, once I changed from prochoice to prolife (20 yrs ago), I did personally never support abortion in any platform, not in my conscience.Republicans are mostly liars, Iāll grant you that. I have never understood why so many conservative Catholics buy their empty promises year after year. But what reason do we have for believing Trumpās new found position on abortion now?
I doubt many of Trumpās supporters support him because they believe he is strongly pro-life. They should just admit that they are taking that issue of the table this cycle, because that is what is happening.
As said, this was in reference to abortion; I didnāt think we were talking about contraception as well and I agree with the other poster on this. Thatās the way I see it, I could be wrong. The point I was addressing was this whopper ā āTrumps position completely aligns with Catholic teaching.ā ā in message #1457:

Which would only be true - completely aligns with Catholic teaching - if Catholic teachings permits artificial birth control and thinks its distribution is āwonderful.ā
Hence, the disconnect between being āpro-lifeā and praising Planned Parenthood. The other candidates you mentioned never in a million years would praise PP.
You claim Trump never praised PP ā no sources, no proof ā and I demonstrated he did, only to be attacked and accused of questioning your faith. But we are talking abortion specifically as you insisted.![]()
Can we put this to rest? Trump did praise PP, but he didnāt praise abortion. Everyone is clear on this. Can we move on? Itās getting tedious. You claim Trump never praised PP ā no sources, no proof ā and I demonstrated he did, only to be attacked and accused of questioning your faith.
You claim Trumpās position ā which includes praise PP minus the abortion, which still leaves artificial birth control, which Catholic teaching forbids ā is in alignment with Church teaching.
The only thing I insist is that you substantiate outlandish claims with facts and not attack when youāre called on it.
It would seem that for some, perhaps many, all of these issues are irrelevant because they arenāt abortion. I wonder what conservative voters are willing to accept in exchange for a candidate who purports to be pro-life. How many immorals and evils would have to be championed by a candidate to outweigh that one issue? As for Trump, my concern goes far beyond his weakness on right to life issues. That is a drop of water in the ocean of problems with Trump. Each one disqualifying in its own right. Lack of core principles, lack of temperament, lack of appropriate experience, lack of business/professional ethics, no bottom line in terms of how low he will go, ad hominem, lack of capacity to reconcile, unite, compromise, lack of moral integrity (see KKK epidsode). Do you want your son to grow up and act like Trump? Then donāt vote for him.

There are qualities in Trump Iād like my son to emulate. For instance every time Trump is asked to give advice to young people, he says, do what you love, work very very hard at it, and never quit. Iād like my son to grow up and be like that. Trump is fearless when surrounded by attacks; Iād like my son to be like that. Trump is quick on his feet and can talk without a teleprompter; Iād like my son to be like that. He has raised wonderful children; Iād like my son to do that. He works very very hard in everything he does; Iād like my son to be like that.). Do you want your son to grow up and act like Trump? Then donāt vote for him.
I think this has been said before so I apologize for the repeat ā but I wish heād use teleprompters more often. He often rambles without answering any question.Trump is quick on his feet and can talk without a teleprompter; Iād like my son to be like that.
Donald Trump answers the question: What is 2+2?
āI have to say a lot of people have been asking this question. No, really. A lot of people come up to me and they ask me. They say, āWhatās 2+2ā? And I tell them look, we know what 2+2 is. Weāve had almost eight years of the worst kind of math you can imagine. Oh my God, I canāt believe it. Addition and subtraction of the 1s the 2s and the 3s. Itās terrible. Itās just terrible. Look, if you want to know what 2+2 is, do you want to know what 2+2 is? Iāll tell you. First of all the number 2, by the way, I love the number 2. Itās probably my favorite number, no it is my favorite number. You know what, itās probably more like the number two but with a lot of zeros behind it. A lot. If Iām being honest, I mean, if Iām being honest. I like a lot of zeros. Except for Marco Rubio, now heās a zero that I donāt like. Though, I probably shouldnāt say that. Heās a nice guy but heās like, ā10101000101,ā on and on, like that. Heās like a computer! You know what I mean? Heās like a computer. I donāt know. I mean, you know. So, we have all these numbers, and we can add them and subtract them and add them. TIMES them even. Did you know that? We can times them OR divide them, they donāt tell you that, and Iāll tell you, no one is better at the order of operations than me. You wouldnāt believe it. So, weāre gonna be the best on 2+2, believe me.ā
Which of the candidates for either party doesnāt have a strong work ethic?Trumpās loan was 1 million. And it was paid back quickly. Iāll just give my son a few thousand. Whether he becomes rich or not is not important, but the work ethic and never-ever-quit attitude I absolutely want my son to learn.
Well, they say Bernie never had a real job until he was 40, thatās just what the stories say and Iām sure I can find articles to back that up if one does not believe me.Which of the candidates for either party doesnāt have a strong work ethic?

Hereās something humorous thatās making the rounds on Facebook. Itās obviously an exaggerationā¦but not by much:

Iād actually prefer my children to have my Dadās work ethic, His two most common phrases were āDo it with your heartā and āAs God Willsā.Which of the candidates for either party doesnāt have a strong work ethic?
