Megan Kelly clarifies about Trump University: it did get an A rating from BBB.

How nice of her to do so days after the debate was over when she could have done it at the debate after Trump gave her the paperwork during the break.

Meanwhile, the Better Business Bureau in January slapped a D-minus rating on Trump U., a rating now under review after Trump U. objected. Trump Institute got an F in early 2009.

The Better Business Bureau doesn’t think much of Donald Trump’s university. Earlier this year the BBB gave Trump University a near failing grade of “D-.”
When I checked, the BBB had received 13 complaints about Trump University during a 36-month period involving contract disputes, customer service, refunds and other issues. And, by the way, Trump University is not an accredited BBB business.
But there’s more. The state Education Department in New York is now insisting that Trump’s online education firm stop using “university” in its title. Trump University, which the promoter views as an educational incubator for wannabe millionaires and billionaires, does not grant academic degrees or college credits.
The New York Post obtained a letter that a state deputy commissioner sent to Trump University, which alleges that using the term “university” to describe the classes and seminars on getting rich is a no-no.
“Use of the word ‘university’ by your corporation is misleading,” the letter states, “and violates New York education law and the rules of the Board of Regents.”

It’s a change in name but continuation of the same services as per Megan Kelly. She said eventually it’s up to voters to make the judgment but she should have said that during the debate.

And who are you to say the students of Trump Univ. received nothing? Whether the enterprise is a scam will be up to the courts. But for Megan Kelly to do what she did at the debate was disgraceful. An impartial moderator she was not.

The new A rating was from 2011.

Yes it’s a different name but the same services. The BBB would have known it’s the same services.

In any rate, the debate viewers had the right to know Trump’s side of the story and Megan Kelly made Trump out to be a liar when he said they got an A rating.

I haven’t checked - do we have a Cruz v GOP thread up yet?

Just a thought: Cruz has a reputation as not a team player - default is to not play fair, backstab and throw sand in all directions. See Ben Carson for more details. Cruz is extremely unpopular among his colleagues, has been for years. Even many of those who share his views don’t trust him entirely.

I think his strategy to take out Rubio in Florida, while predictable, even understandable, could backfire - he was damaged by his treatment of Carson in Iowa. The inevitable character question: do we want this kind of man in the White House? And given his seemingly natural capacity to alienate those around him, will he even make it? Let’s hope Carson and Rubio are forgiving if we end up in a brokered convention. Actually Carson is one endorsement I think Rubio would welcome about now. (Kasich as nominee, anyone, everyone?)

As for Rubio in Florida, the establishment is cooling in its support for him as he is not delivering on voters. Conventional wisdom says this is bad. I say it could be good. Now he is more or less out there on his own, up against Cruz and Trump. Think about that for a little while. 😉

Stay tuned.

No, so far we only have threads like that for T***p and Rubio (well, depending whether you count the “Marco Rubio wins Puerto Rico primary after rivals call for his exit” thread).

But you could say that it’s a sub-theme within the “Cruz or Clinton” thread.

“Let’s do a pledge. Who likes me in this room?” Trump asked the crowd. “I’ve never done this before. Can I have a pledge? A swearing? Raise your right hand.”
I have to credit him for knowing how to hit us where it hurts. :o

I just wonder when he’ll start hitting **them **(the Dems) where it hurts. (Or will he at all? :()

Rubio needs to stay in to win Florida… THEN he needs to go and the establishment needs to throw all the support to Kasich. He should have been the one they were supporting to begin with.

The same was true of “Walmart University” run by Walmart, for a long time. Now, I guess, they have a program that leads to an MBA in affiliation with some university or other, if you’re already a college graduate. But for most of their courses of study, there’s no degree of any kind.

I can’t find the T.U. website, if it’s still up, so I can’t know anything about it other than what people say about it. Looking around, some think it was a scam. Some think it was great. Some think it was middling.

As, perhaps, with “Walmart University” sometimes you have to bring certain characteristics with you or it won’t do you any good to attend. If you are really motivated to be a good retailer, it’s worth it. “Walmart University” grads, at least, are highly sought after by other retailers, particularly if the graduate then worked for a time for Walmart afterward.

Bascially, all W.U. is, is training in the various aspects of retailing and retail management. You have to want to learn it. Its attendees are vetted by Walmart, which apparently wasn’t true of “Trump U”. Chances are if Walmart U was “open enrollment” there would be lots and lots of people who say they gained nothing from it.

My guess is that Trump University had potential for its attendees, but that it also had open enrollment, which led to a lot of people spending their money on it without having the actual ability to gain anything from it.

Walmart isn’t the only company that has something like this.

Then by all means you should never attend a High School, College, or Professional Sporting event. People have a tendency to show enthusiasm for their team/candidate.
At team sporting events, people aren’t usually asked to “solemnly swear” to do something.

Are they at Trump and Black Panther NAABPP events, sounds like you know something about all this? Or one or the other perhaps?

(Kasich as nominee, anyone, everyone?)
No. Not me. I oppose Kasich. Instead of talking about working toward a peaceful settlement of the dispute in Ukraine, Kasich wants to pour oil on an already explosive situation by sending more and more weapons to Ukraine. IMHO, war is bad, as people get killed, some lose arms, others lose legs or eyes, and are paralyzed for life. Children are killed. People are moaning and crying about the loss of their loved ones. I am in favor of a diplomatic and peaceful solution of the problem. I did not hear him talk about that.

“Let’s do a pledge. Who likes me in this room?” Trump asked attendees at the massive Orlando rally.
“Raise your right hand. I do solemnly swear that I — no matter how I feel, no matter what the conditions, if there’s hurricanes or whatever — will vote, on or before the 12th for Donald J. Trump for president,” Trump said as his supporters echoed him.

Obama asking supporters to pledge allegiance to him. Did the media make a big hoopla about this???

nillabyte.com/entry.php?347-Obama-Asking-Supporters-To-Pledge-Allegiance-To-Him-Hollywood-All-Too-Happy-To-Oblige

“The Obama team has launched their “For All” campaign in which they ask supporters to send in pictures of themselves with a hand on their heart and a note as to why they are pledging allegiance to Obama.”

Jessica Alba, who is apparently famous for some reason, has proudly pledged her allegiance to Obama. Alba said:

“Growing up, my classmates and I started every day with a ritual: We’d stand up, put our right hand over our hearts, and say the Pledge of Allegiance. That gesture was a promise. A promise to be involved and engaged in this country’s future. A promise to work for liberty and justice — and for affordable education, health care, and equality — for all.”

******Obama asked his supporters to pledge allegiance to him and the media had no problem with it. ******

Trump merely asked his supporters to swear they were going to vote for him.

Hypocrisy!

I hate the media.

Why should we think the Russians won’t shoot Ukrainians even more if the Ukrainians have no arms? Seems to me if the Russians were more afraid of getting shot themselves in their erstwhile conquest of Ukraine, more lives would be saved.

But I suppose if Ukraine was totally disarmed, the Russians could roll over them without fear. Guess nobody would get killed if Putin’s tanks rolled all the way to the Atlantic and all of Europe was disarmed.

Trump’s okay, not my first choice though.

It sounds like the polls say he will take Mississippi which may be a small surprise.
