I’m amazed that people are still talking about Trump’s tax returns as though the future of our nation depends on them entering the public domain. I guess neither side wants to give in at this point.

Agreed. Trump, his private life, his tax returns, his hubris, and his Presidency are totally irrelevant to the future of our nation…all that matters is if this great national nightmare will come to an end…and it will in 2020 when he will be relegated to the dust bin of history.

It’s ok. Whether it is 2020, or 2024, the important thing is that it WILL end.
 
Well, the law does not say that the IRS can vet the request and determine whether to hand over the requested return.

This statute was enacted after the Teapot Dome scandal for the exact purpose for which the committee is using it.
 
It’s been tried before, it’s unconstitutional. End of.

We are in a full-blown constitutional crisis right now.

The President and his followers believe that laws and the very US Constitution does not apply to him. It’s frightening.
 
I hope Trump and GOP stay in power, what do the Democrats offer?

Late term abortions, dismemberment abortions, possibly post abortion infanticide,

Anti-Israel.

Let ISIS rise to power in the Middle East that saw Christians persecuted in Egypt, Catholics, Chaldeans, Assyrians, pushed to near extinction in Iraq and Syria.

No thank you. Difficult seeing these things supported in a Catholic forum.
 
I’m not interested in seeing any President’s tax returns. If he is violating the tax code, then I would hope the IRS would go after him like they do with everybody else.
 
What does Trump offer?

Buying votes with unneeded tax breaks.

Good employment figures.

Strong GDP growth

But, you also get -

Total disregard for the rule of law

Conspiring to violate campaign finance laws

Bragging about assaulting women

Calling the free press the “enemy of the people”

Lying 10,000 times since being elected.

So, the ends justify the means? Difficult seeing these things supported on a Catholic forum.
 
What’s really frightening is those sodeeply entrenched in their hatred of Trump would rather cut off their noses to spite themselves,disregarding the good things being done for everyone not just republicans.So sad and pathetic

Not a Trumper here, but you are going to be sadly disappointed in 2020. Trump will be with us another four years. His base is more solid than ever and growing. It’s going to be another butt kicking in 2020.
