I’m not denying God sends His Angel. So ultimately my point still stands.
 
I fail to see how you’ve refuted that we ought to trust (though not as we would with God) others.

And by the way, from the little I know, you’re consecrating yourself to Jesus through Mary. I have my reservations on it but that’s a whole other discussion.
 
We are, you are, I am, everyone with faith is a member of the Body of Christ’s Church… We are one Body with Jesus as the head of His Church.

We strive to work united.

I feel you may have been deeply hurt by another abusing your trust… perhaps may I suggest a professional to help with that.

However as Christians , our Baptism vocation is to build up the Catholic Church. We cannot build if we are divided.
This is a main issue in the secular world.

Jesus said a house divided cannot stand. And the mission of the devil is to divide and conquer.

I am, yes, but it is shorter to say it’s to her. Mary knows and loves Jesus better than I ever could hope to do. She is the perfect person to guide me closer to and to serve Jesus.
 
God trusted His only Son to Mary and Joseph, mere mortals.
 
I take His words at face value. And it clearly says, “Cursed is the man who puts his trust in another man.”
 
Maybe I’m misunderstanding you, @Agathon. Please correct me if I am. Do you believe people are worthy of no trust, or are you just saying we ought to trust God primarily?

For example, I trust my family to treat me kindly and have a loving interest in my life. I trust my closest friends with my hopes and dreams, but my less close friends don’t share in everything. But I do trust these to mean well. If a friend tells me he’s praying for me, I trust those prayers are happening. If my spiritual director tells me I need to grow a little more in faith, I trust in his honesty.

I don’t trust anyone to be perfect, but I do trust them to be human, and humans are called to love. For perfection, I turn to God. Is this what you meant or am I off base?

Even Our Lord trusts people. Did He not ask the Apostle John to care for Our Mother Mary?

It means why would anyone marry you if you don’t trust them!! Then if you had children you would not trust them either. I can keep going. Your comment would mean you also do not trust your parents or siblings if you have any!
 
As I have said: humanity is way too inconsistent and imperfect to put your trust in. We have all sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. Apart from Him we can’t do anything. Even the good we do without Christ is as polluted rags.
 
Funny you mention parents. God revealed this to me through them.
 
If you want to learn more about how to love Jesus as He loves you, my advice would be to ask Him to give you this grace.

So I don’t misunderstand you are you telling everyone here that there is not a single human being on this planet that you trust??
 
That is impossible. I cannot love Jesus as much as He loves me. He gives me this grace through His mother. And I appreciate neither as much as I ought to. Also, not everything in the Bible is to be interpreted literally word per word.
 
When I read “Thus says the LORD” it’s all the context I need. I don’t dance around it.
