I’m not sure I completely understand the points made in the materials on the link you attached. I agree that homosexuality should not be “promoted” in school, just as heterosexuality should not be “promoted.”
My view is that people should be accepted as they are. All the “promotion” in the world simply could not convince me to be gay. If everyone on my block told me it was “cool to be gay” I’d tell them “have fun” and continue my heterosexual orientation.
I think the point is that we are trying to advance society to a point where gays are not humiliated and ridiculed. We are far from getting there. I predict in about 50 years or so it will be simply unacceptable in our society to promote notions of a subversive homosexual agenda. Much in the same way it is unacceptable today to advocate the superiority of whites over other races. Only a few generations ago, one could publicly assert such theories and be elected to office.
Incredible nonsense. Incorporating heterosexuality (values and sound moral behavior) should be an integral part of every level of school teaching including post secondary. To place fundamental heterosexual conduct on par with any form of homosexual behavior would be the equivalent of equating healthy eating habits to snorting cocaine.
This silly carry-over from the 1960s of “everyone being accepted for who they are” has become little more than a license to act in any manner which feeds your phycical impulses with little regard to physical or spiritual consequences, with a corresponding expectation than everyone has to embrace your behavioral choices simply because it makes you feel good. It is this attitude which leads also to arguments for assisted suicide, embryonic (destruction) research, abortion, self-multilation (often now referred to as body art), and self torture among other forms of depravity (
excuse me, self expression).
People, especially the young, are being convinced to experiment with homosexual behavior all the time through the media, now in the school systems, and by other authority figures. If the young could not be influenced in this direction, these groups certainly would not be pushing their agenda on them.
There is no justification for homosexuals to be humiliated and ridiculed, privately or in public, but any attempts to stop the acceptance and promotion of this conduct as a healthy alternative, for especially our young, is more than justified, if for no other reasons than their medical and spiritual health. Behavior is changeable and very susceptible to influence (the powerful advertising industry exists soley for this reason), a point certainly not lost on radical homosexual special interest groups who have quite openly and effectively marketed their “cause” since the early 1970s.
The side playing “catch-up” now, fighting to be heard, and becoming increasingly persecuted, is not the homosexual lobby but the Christian, and more specifically, those promoting the true Christian Catholic position. And, the homosexual lobby knows it!
