A new web site offers resources to students and parents on the promotion of homosexuality in our nation’s public schools. Founded by Linda Harvey, president of Mission America, TruthatSchool.org gathers valuable resources from around the web, as well as the latest news on parents taking a stand – news that you rarely hear about in the mainstream media. Matt Barber, CWA’s Policy Director for Cultural Issues, spoke with Linda on this new resource.

I’m not sure I completely understand the points made in the materials on the link you attached. I agree that homosexuality should not be “promoted” in school, just as heterosexuality should not be “promoted.”

My view is that people should be accepted as they are. All the “promotion” in the world simply could not convince me to be gay. If everyone on my block told me it was “cool to be gay” I’d tell them “have fun” and continue my heterosexual orientation.

I think the point is that we are trying to advance society to a point where gays are not humiliated and ridiculed. We are far from getting there. I predict in about 50 years or so it will be simply unacceptable in our society to promote notions of a subversive homosexual agenda. Much in the same way it is unacceptable today to advocate the superiority of whites over other races. Only a few generations ago, one could publicly assert such theories and be elected to office.

Incredible nonsense. Incorporating heterosexuality (values and sound moral behavior) should be an integral part of every level of school teaching including post secondary. To place fundamental heterosexual conduct on par with any form of homosexual behavior would be the equivalent of equating healthy eating habits to snorting cocaine.

This silly carry-over from the 1960s of “everyone being accepted for who they are” has become little more than a license to act in any manner which feeds your phycical impulses with little regard to physical or spiritual consequences, with a corresponding expectation than everyone has to embrace your behavioral choices simply because it makes you feel good. It is this attitude which leads also to arguments for assisted suicide, embryonic (destruction) research, abortion, self-multilation (often now referred to as body art), and self torture among other forms of depravity (excuse me, self expression).

People, especially the young, are being convinced to experiment with homosexual behavior all the time through the media, now in the school systems, and by other authority figures. If the young could not be influenced in this direction, these groups certainly would not be pushing their agenda on them.

There is no justification for homosexuals to be humiliated and ridiculed, privately or in public, but any attempts to stop the acceptance and promotion of this conduct as a healthy alternative, for especially our young, is more than justified, if for no other reasons than their medical and spiritual health. Behavior is changeable and very susceptible to influence (the powerful advertising industry exists soley for this reason), a point certainly not lost on radical homosexual special interest groups who have quite openly and effectively marketed their “cause” since the early 1970s.

The side playing “catch-up” now, fighting to be heard, and becoming increasingly persecuted, is not the homosexual lobby but the Christian, and more specifically, those promoting the true Christian Catholic position. And, the homosexual lobby knows it!

In Masssachusettes, voters got more than gay marriage. Homosexuality is being “normalized” and is now part of the school curriculum. I agree that no one should be harassed or bullied for any reason. Unfortunately, anarchist groups are changing definitions. Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered is no longer enough, the newly added term is “gender identity.” Sad. It only adds to the confusion.

Here is a book being read (reportedly) to 2nd graders. It is indoctrination, plain and simple:

massresistance.org/docs/issues/king_and_king/book.html

By the way, I am in no way connected or in agreement with anything else on the site this link goes to.

God bless,
Ed

I disagree… If anything, 50 years from now it will become ever more prevalent and open. In fact in many public schools they have gay clubs for homosexual students now…It will continue to get worse and worse as years go by unless theres some immediate intervention(and basing how liberalism is taking over this country and the media I doubt it will happen). As Scott Hahn quoted Bill Grahms wife “If God dosen’t chastize this country soon he will owe Sodom and Gommorah a personal apology”

I agree. The state should not be educating our children about sex. Any kind of sex. Period. But unfortunately, they are. Since homosexual marriage is not accepted by the vast majority of Americans, it should not be spoon fed to the youngest and most vulnerable of citizens. IMO, if I had young children, they would be homeschooled.
My view is that people should be accepted as they are.
Such a meaningless and absurd piece of leftover hippie and feminist rhetoric.

That’s just great. Good for you. What about the 12 year old boy who is at the mercy of his raging hormones, has no father figure at home to talk to and is constantly hearing from his teachers that if he feels “different” because he’s confused he might in fact be gay? And that’s just okey dokey? Do you realize how many kids during adolescence experience mild confusion about their sexual identity, especially today when the “everything goes” mentality is pervasive and a kid only has to watch MTV for 2 hours to know more about deviant sex than our parents did in their entire lifetimes? If you start telling kids who are lacking guidance at home that their very normal confusion could mean they are homosexual, you can most certainly influence them. It’s no surprise that perhaps for the first time in history, kids as young as 14 and 15 are declaring themselves “gay”. I don’t know about you, but I didn’t know what I was at 14, other than confused and scared.
I think the point is that we are trying to advance society to a point where gays are not humiliated and ridiculed. We are far from getting there.
Ridiculous. Homosexuality is celebrated in every city across this great land one weekend per year (like St. Pat’s Day). TV shows glorify gay lifestyles without ever showing the truth of what really goes on. Beneath the facade of open-mindedness, people claim they have no problem with homosexuality to boost their own opinion of themselves - to “out-tolerate” eachother. Just tell a 13 year old boy what two men do together and see what type of response you get.
Much in the same way it is unacceptable today to advocate the superiority of whites over other races.
 You should attempt a more original argument. Race is not optional. Race is not something one chooses. Race has no objective immorality. Race does not contradict biology. Race does not thwart the procreative imperative. Most African Americans are very offended when the gay activists attempt to use the civil rights movement as an analogy.

SILVERNAME: Methinks thou protesth too much.

I have a great tag line for you.

"Where are we going, and how did I get in this handbasket?"

Life is not all doom and gloom…and homosexuals are not the “alien pod people” ready to take over the world.

We are to love all people regardless of their sins, but out of that love we are to call people away from sin to the love of God. Sexual perversion is a tool being used by the devil to lure many to hell. To be suggesting to young people that homosexual behavior is in any way acceptable, is to be warping their understanding of the world God has created.

So very true. When we turn a blind eye toward the sins of others we just might find that sin is alive and well in our own home. Our children are our most precious resource and must be protected as such.

They can’t brainwash the older generation so they figured they’ll start w/ the young. Hit ‘em where it counts… know i’m sayin’ !

Don’t just protect them !

Teach them !

In this day and age, one needs to educate the young at home as soon as they understand.

You can be sure the world will get to them if you don’t.

I would encourage you to take a look around at the website:wwwtruthatschool.org just to see what is being almost literally shoved down the throats of the children in public schools.
Shouldn’t take you long to get the idea.😉 An interesting happening at a school in Deerfield, IL. where children were told they were to attend a conference at school but it was to be kept quiet to everyone including their parents. In fact they were made to sign a “contract” of silence. (I happen to know this is right on as this is my state)

Another interesting link is the one to the right of the screen labeled “Rated X” as to what they are putting forth in some schools in sex ed. I find this completely intolerable. I think it is very twisted to be promoting erotica to puberty children that are starting to have raging hormones. Be prepared to be shocked, angered, sickened.

Time has shown again and again that younger generations are more accepting of changes in society than older generations. It is the old “can’t teach a old dog new tricks-style rule”. The younger generation does not see a threat with same-gender preferences at all. They just see a regular person who is just different in some way and that is it.

Nope. Prior to the late 50’s and 60’s, kids had a healthy respect for their parent’s values and opinions. With the various “revolutions” of the 60’s and the battle cry of “question authority” (bumper stickers on every youngster’s car) came this notion that kids are somehow more enlightened than their parents. How absurd. Common sense and reasoning would indicate that anyone who has lived more and longer would have a greater wealth of knowledge and experience, plus the added of bonus of hindsight.

Here is an example. When I was growing up, TV shows portrayed the kids as getting into trouble or having difficulties which could only be resolved and understood with parental intervention (My Three Sons, Father Knows Best, Brady Bunch, etc,) Today, the shows are all about the stupid parents, how they can’t get it right, and their brilliant, enlightened kids who have to come to their rescue. Do you really think this reflects the reality of most families?

There does seem to be a wonderful balance of idiocy when weighing those scenarios against one another.

I would go back to prior to WWII. When we came together as a nation to fight this war we also opened “Pandora’s box”. History shows that the more “freedoms” we have the more that are demanding to the point of absurdity.

OK dress and combat boots aside for the kids. Music style etc aside. Do we really have to say and condone “everything” that someone wants to do as OK and acceptable in society?

And on the same level, time has also shown again and again that when a civilization reaches the point where concrete standards of moral behavior give way to an “anything is acceptable, live-and-let-live” philosophy, that civilization will not last three generations. It will either collapse from its own decay and enter a period of anarchy, deprivation, and ignorance, or it will be conquered by another culture or civilization which has higher, more concrete standards of morality and a vibrant allegiance to its own concept of Deity.

We have reached reached Stage 7 in Sir Alex Frasier Tyler’s 9-stage cycle of the life of all great civilizations; dependancy and bondage lie dead ahead. But that’s all right. The younger generation is tolerant and accepting—I’m sure they won’t mind paying the dhimmi tax.
