The most recent news has been bad. It seems only a few weeks after going on a treatment break, the cancer came back very aggressively, causing me alot of pain. I was hoping it was something like a gall bladder, but a scan proved it was tumors back and growing in my right lung and and the right side of the liver.

I’m trying to get a second opinion from Sloan-Kettering Cancer Hospital in NYC, but I can’t wait too long. If they have an option for me, I’ll go do it, if they don’t, I need to begin chemo immediately here where I’ve been going.

It feels like a gut punch for sure. I feel like, unless some great new trials are happening, my life just got much shorter.

When my aggressive lymphoma came back immediately after chemo, hope was fading. Due to the prayers of the faithful here at CAF, I was carried back form the abyss. By all means, please get a second opinion, as my primary physician and first oncologist both thought I had a virus. Had I listened to them, I would not have finished 2008. Sloan-Kettering is excellent, as is Fred Hutchinson, whose treatment has preserved me.

The most difficult of all for me was letting go and simply trusting and loving God. This is a time when we want to feel a sense of control over things - anything. I found the solution in just letting go and abandoning myself to Divine providence.

You remain in daily prayer. Amen.

Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal (TIM). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into TIM’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Prayer for the Sick
Dear Jesus, Divine Physician and Healer of the sick, we turn to you in this time of illness. O dearest comforter of the troubled, alleviate our worry and sorrow with your gentle love, and grant us the grace and strength to accept this burden. Dear God, we place our worries in your hands. We place Tim under your care and humbly ask that you restore him to health again. Above all, grant us the grace to acknowledge your will and know that whatever you do, you do for the love of us. Amen.

When my aggressive lymphoma came back immediately after chemo, hope was fading. Due to the prayers of the faithful here at CAF, I was carried back form the abyss. By all means, please get a second opinion, as my primary physician and first oncologist both thought I had a virus. Had I listened to them, I would not have finished 2008. Sloan-Kettering is excellent, as is Fred Hutchinson, whose treatment has preserved me.

The most difficult of all for me was letting go and simply trusting and loving God. This is a time when we want to feel a sense of control over things - anything. I found the solution in just letting go and abandoning myself to Divine providence.

Dear Lord Tim has had some upsetting news and I pray You would guide all medical professionals involved in his care to have the skills and knowledge to heal him.We are praying the Sloan Kettering Hospital has new procedures that would help Tim.Lord please grant Tim complete healing and fill his heart full of confidence that he will know Your love for him.Lord we pray Tim will be healed to continue to raise his beautiful children and support his beautiful wife.Lord in Your mercy hear our prayers Amen

St. Jude, the glorious apostle faithful servant and friend of Jesus,
the patron of hopeless cases of things despaired of,
pray for our friend TIM who is sick and so miserable.
Make use we implore you of this particular privilege accorded to you,
to bring visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of.
Come to our assistance in this great time of need,
that TIM may receive the consolations and succor of Heaven
in all his necessities, tribulations and sufferings,
particularly to help our friend to get better from his illness
and to give him good health

A Prayer to St. Peregrine for Sick Relatives and Friends

O great St. Peregrine, you have been called “The Mighty”, the “The Wonder Worker” because of the numerous miracles which you obtained from God for those who have turned to you in their need. For so many years you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys the very fiber of our being. You turned to God when the power of human beings could do no more, and you were favored with the vision of Jesus coming down from His cross to heal your affliction. I now ask God to heal these sick persons whom I entrust to you:

Aided by your powerful intercession, I shall sing with Mary a hymn of gratitude to God for His great goodness and mercy.
