I shouldnt be reading this thread but I cant help but want clues to what happens. Becuase of my hubbys schedule we cant watch this show together so we wait until the end of the season then rent it and watch it straight through. The good news is that we never missed an episode!
You can watch them free any time you want to on the ABC website–in HD even. We don’t get cable or satellite or any TV at all, so we watch stuff online. We just discovered Lost, and are finally caught up! Now I’m dying because we can’t just watch it when we want to, we have to wait for the next episode to come out! And I think season 4 has been better in these first few episodes than season 3 was, so I’m excited to see how it all plays out.

So after watching tonights episode, I’m guessing that Claire is not one of the six to get off the island. I’m thinking she’s probably going to be killed off.
I’m beginning to trust Locke even less than Ben. Kate hit the hammer on the nal when calling him a dictator.

I wonder, even though Jack was lying about the eight survivors from the initial crash, by the time the Oceanic 6 got off the island, were they the only ones to actually survive the island from the Oceanic passengers and Jack decided to shorten the story? Why does Jack not want to see Aaron? Why does he not want to accept that Kate is raising him? This makes me wonder if he finds out his relation to Claire and is just having a difficult time with the reality that his dad had a child through an affair and that he (Jack) was lied to all his life about her.

I have a theory about the island I’d like to put out for discussion.

It seems to me that the Dharma project is about manipulating fate–at least fate concerning what happens off the island. (That would be the ultimate power, wouldn’t it?)

For one thing, the word “dharma”, according to Wikipedia, is “the order which makes the cosmos and the harmonious complexity of the natural world possible.” Well, if you could manipulate that, you could manipulate anything.

It would explain why when a wife says she’d be free of her husband if he got hit by a bus, he actually gets hit by one. It would explain why Desmond, after getting sort of zapped by the meltdown, can see the future. It would explain that lady in England who could see the future as well.

It would explain why Ben massacred the folks at the Dharma initiative and took over–and why he told Jack, “We’re the good guys.” It would explain why Sayid goes to work for Ben later. It would explain why Jack is desperate to get back to the island after he’s rescued (perhaps Dharma has ousted Ben and has taken control again.) It explains why someone from the ship would think Ben could get him 3.2 million dollars, even if Ben obviously didn’t have it.

Anyway, since I’ve come up with this theory, I’ve seen nothing that would counter it and several things that support it.

Thoughts?

Thats a very good theory, it makes a lot of sense.
Thats also a good theory on why Jack doesn’t want to see Aaron.
I’m really not positive that Ben is really the bad guy. I don’t see why Syid would work for him if he was bad.

I was really disappointed with last nights episode. I already suspected that Aaron would turn out to be “Kate’s” son. But I think a cooler ending would be if the taxi driver that drove Kate home turned out to be Ben, I think that would be awesome.
I liked the peaceful Locke much better, the grenade thing really upset me. next week’s episode looks great, in the preview desmond had short hair again, so either he got a haircut, or the time warp changed things.

How do we know that “Aaron” is not Kate & Sawyer’s baby? Maybe Claire & her baby died in the helicopter crash and Kate named her baby in honour of Aaron.

Something is going to happen where some of the people on the island aren’t going to leave, and those who get off the island are either going to make up a story to cover them not leaving, or are going to be so ashamed that they left them their that they pretend that they never survived. And I get the feeling that Kate is going to take Aaron against Claire’s wishes, and that if Jack sees the kid he’s going to be reminded about those they left behind.

The island is obviously not in our timeline, and probably not in our dimension. In the 8pm repeat of Lost with the enhancement writing, they brought up that Ben told Michael to follow a heading of 325 to get out. IMO the island can only be found by coming one way and going back the same way. The island was hidden completely before the hatch blew up.

And the island is going to be something like Atlantis or some kind of magical land. The people on the freighter are looking for Ben, from Dharma. I’m betting that Dharma is behind the whole crash of flight 815, and that they somehow manipulated all those people to be on the plane. All those people needed to be on the island, so they packed them on the plane and sent them to look for the island hoping the island would ‘suck’ them in. Dharma wants to find the island and used flight 815 to do that. And when the 6 get off the island, they want to keep it quiet so they make up that story.

Well going back to season one there is something very important about Clair having the baby and raising Aaron. They never answered why.

Good point- I didn’t think of that.

One thing that I keep trying to figure out, is what kind of reality is really “real” in Lost? I’ve seen every episode, and it keeps getting more and more “supernatural”, but it will get ruined if it gets too supernatural- because if anything can happen, then nothing will mean anything.

What is Jacob? What is the monster? What about “the number”, which has been kinda ignored for the last two seasons?

What is the monster?
🙂 In an episode or so ago when Locke had his gun to Ben that was the first question he asked. I almost thought it was homage to LOST fans that have stuck around because that was a complaint the first couple of seasons - 10 more questions for every 1 answered.

Last season I just decided to enjoy the ride. And it’s been great! The first 3 episodes this season rocked. Kate’s seemed a bit slower to me but it may just be because the first 3 rocked.

No, Sayid says he’s one of the Six both to the guy on the golf course and the girl he ends up killing.

I love Ben. He’s a great character, a great villan.
Yeah, I saw that now. My station pre-empted the first 20 minutes of the show when it first aired, so I was speaking from incomplete information. Bummer, that would have made a good plot development: Losties who got off the island, but assumed new identities.

Yeah, what about the number? I really expected the time difference between the two clocks to be 108 minutes. Or 4 hours, 8 minutes, 15 seconds. Or something like that.

Hey this is Pete’s daughter…there is this website called lostpedia.com  …it was made to help answer all the questions the show causes so you can check there for the answers to your questions.

So Ben is in love with Juliet. Hmm, I actually didn’t see that one coming. He’s creppy, but I kinda felt sorry for the guy, he can be so pitiful.
And any theories on who his spy is on the boat? My money is on Michael.

I am almost expecting it to not be Michael. That seems to be too obvious of a choice.

I was watching that repeat show that comes on at 8pm before the new episode of lost. When Faraday does his thing with the rat Eloise to make her unstuck in time, he shoots some purple beam at her. The ‘extra stuff’ at the bottom of the screen at that point talked about how when the swan station blew up, it created the same purple light all over the island.

So, what if when that station blew up, it unstuck them in time? The whole island? Time and space, so that it floats between worlds? What if that station ‘cloaked’ the island, and when they blew it up it uncloaked the island, but at the same time caused them to become unstuck in time? That would explain a whole lot about the island and what’s going on.

I still think it’s Michael, even though it would be a bit obvious. They said on the rpeview for next weeks episode that it would be someone we never thought we’d see again. And I read in an article that Michael is coming back in one of the next few episodes.

Ben is the evil genius penultimate! I LOVE his character and Michael Emerson does such a great job!

Favorites from last week - when he was walking past Hurley and Sawyer with some bedding and said something like “see you at dinner”.
  • when he took Juliet to show her that body and he goes into that rage and ends it with “you’re mine!” Then about 3 seconds later he’s back to normal and says so matter-of-factly “well, take as much time as you need”
Since the previews for this week said we’ll find out the final two of the ‘Oceanic 6’ I was guessing that it’d be Michael & Walt. I’m thinking Michael is Ben’s guy on the boat. Brad W - Boone WOULD definately be a surprise.

It was interesting about the Tempest. When we last saw “the Others”, Ben told them to go to what I thought he said was the Temple. It must have been the Tempest. So I’m thinking he had them arm the doomsday device to go off in a week’s time killing everyone on the island (while the Others are holed up in a safe area). That’d eliminate the invaders.

It’s kind of like the survivors are caught in between a war between the Others & the Boaters.

And what was the deal when the shrink Harper said something like “no wonder he like you, you look just like her”. Ben’s previous wife who died when she got pregnant? A girlfriend? Maybe his mother?
