I loved the finale, I can’t wait for October. Does this Michonne character play a prominent role in the graphic novels? Another question for the readers of the graphic novels, how much did the success of the tv series inflate the value of the graphic novels?

Wow, that finale was CRAZY!

Spoiler!!!

So who else thinks the hooded person who saved Andrea is Michone (sp?).
Soooooo Crazy!!!

She is definitely Michone! Talking Dead alluded to it and Kirkman said that she was Michone. I can’t wait for next season.

She is one of the biggest roles in the graphic novels and she is a very interesting character that Kirkman uses.

The TV series and the novels differ quite a bit, but I like to think that because Kirkman is so involved in the TV series that he is kind of perfecting some things that he missed in the graphic novels. I would say that the foundations have remained the same and the track they are following parallels the graphic novels, but they are just taking a slightly different route to get to their objectives.

Ite in pace,

Nah. I know we passed a church just Friday that was pretty Gothic Revival-looking with a red door. It was Southern Baptist. There is a Methodist church building here that used to be Seventh-day Adventist that used to be Southern Baptist.

Big fan of graphic novel and am enjoying the series!!! 👍
Maybe so, but I’ve never heard of a Southern Baptist church that had a 7 foot crucifix behind an altar. They usually avoid the Corpus on their crosses if I’m not mistaken.

I figured they put up the crucifix as a set decoration for more dramatic effect.

This show is very well written, and little details like a Baptist Church looking like a Catholic Church on the inside is not without a purpose. Things are not what they appear to be. The recent Zombies vs. Jesus video puts it best. If only we had eyes to see. This is what the zombie genre is all about. We are all among the Walking Dead, or as John Paul II says, “the Culture of Death.” The scene in the church suggests that despite the shallow worship space of what you might expect in a Baptist Church, if you go deeper, you will see more–of how things truly are. On the surface, we may look alive, but a souls are dead.

Yep lookin good. Never read the graphic novel but this show is cool. So many twists and turns.

It is becoming more frightening as they come across other “survivors”. The Governor is creepy and scary, especially when you know what he’s up to. In the graphic novel he’s really creepy-looking and you have no idea why he actually makes some of his decisions. He’s nuts… and that’s scarier than dealing with a walker, I think. They haven’t followed it exactly by the comic, so I’m wondering how much they will include in the coming episodes. I have a feeling of what the season finale will be if they follow the comic, but I won’t say anything.

The struggle to hold onto humanity and their former way of life is really interesting to watch. You see how much the characters have lost some of it, becoming desensitized. What happens to Carl is especially telling. If anything, the psychology and human interaction, as well as how they survive is probably the main reason why I watch it, because I absolutely don’t like monster flicks or zombie movies, usually.

The only thing I wish they would show less of is all the blood and gore. I think we pretty much get how they have to get rid of the walkers. I don’t need to see it graphic detail at this point. For me, they could just show them going in, but not what it actually looks like as they are doing it and how it looks afterward.

Yeah, the ep. when they come across the prisoners was pretty tense.

My catholic brothers and sisters may the love of our good lord Christ be with us all. Now be careful and cautious and always watch out for walkers.

I’m not an avid TV watcher, simply because I don’t have the time. But every now and then, a show like this comes along that is very intriguing, and just for the reasons you’ve mentioned above. While I seriously doubt there will ever be a zombie apocalypse, similar scenarios could could occur with the complete collapse of society, and the show seems to display a realistic portrayal of what would occur.

I think it is better and moving faster than last season. 👍
Definitely better than last season. This is one of my favorite shows (along with True Blood). I can’t wait until February when the 2nd half of this season continues! I will be counting the days down.

Glad to see another thread on here about The Walking Dead! I have one going, and then decided to search the forum to see if there were any others.

So, what did people here think about the first two episodes of the spring season?

So glad baby Judith is alive! Probably the biggest thing for me so far.

I used to watch True blood, and enjoyed the first couple seasons, but then it just got too crazy, I could see vampires existing, but then they started with werewolves, werepanthers, and all kinds of crazy things, I think they went overboard on the number of supernatural beings, should have left it at vampires only.
