Again, elitism on display!Lawmakers should not be recalled for doing what’s in the people’s best interest.

So by saying you’re in favor of magazines that hold no more than X rounds, you’re publicly stating that it’s only X+1 bodies that bother you. If that’s not what you mean to say, then come out and state your real intentions.Government is responsible for people’s wellbeing! This includes strict background checks and a limit on magazine capacity. Why would anybody complain about that?
Chadair, you might enjoy this quote. Imagine in a few years when different view points are banned/punishable as ‘hate speech’ (of course as defined by the politicians)
Jeff Snyder:
“To ban guns because criminals use them is to tell the innocent and law-abiding that their rights and liberties depend not on their own conduct, but on the conduct of the guilty and the lawless, and that the law will permit them to have only such rights and liberties as the lawless will allow… For society does not control crime, ever, by forcing the law-abiding to accommodate themselves to the expected behavior of criminals. Society controls crime by forcing the criminals to accommodate themselves to the expected behavior of the law-abiding.”
Oh, and to got back on topic. Society controls politicians by holding them accountable for ignoring their constituents desires and rights.
Robert, what exactly, and who exactly does stricter background checks stop? I’ll answer, LAWABIDING cititzens ONLY!! remove yer blinders!!What does stricter background checks and a limit on magazine capacities have to do with you owning a gun?
so we went from high rates of suicide to vigilantes??I fear that we are approaching a wild era of renegade vigilantes. People taking the law into their own hands, all in the name of justice and freedom. People have a right to live in peace and calm!
I’d love to disarm the gov’t we have nowOver the course of human history, especially the last ~120yrs, the biggest threat to peace and calm comes from folks own governments- yet, no one proposes disarming the government.
bein southern bred and southern raised, firearms is a part of our lives. ALL my children (4) now the safeties and the dangers, even the danger of a bb gun

and magazine capacities. back this pass spring, there was a woman in Loganville Ga who seen a man tryin to break into her house. she hid n the attic with her children with a pistol. the man found them and pulled the stairway down. she unloaded her pistol, hittin the perp 5 outta 6 shots. the man fled the house and jumped n his car and had a wreck leaving. NOW, had there been 2 perps, the woman had NO more bullets to defend her family. so the last thing I need, is some liberal from California tellin me what I need to defend my family
so we went from high rates of suicide to vigilantes??

Better control than chaos.good answer!!![]()
cause we have so much chaos now? right??Better control than chaos.
Was George Bush wrong on his wars?Another Obama party failure…Gun Control. If he was so wrong about war why is he so right about this? He’s been right about very little, in fact off the top off my head I can’t think of anything.
They have been wrong about war for some time, pretty self evident by the net results. Becoming committed to a party is one thing. To swallow all their ideals is very different. Was George Bush wrong on his wars?
If the war was for oil or big corporation, then I’m definitely against them. But I do give government credit if they are for humanitarian causes. What’s in those top secret documents that the government doesn’t allow to become public? It’s anyone’s guess! They have been wrong about war for some time, pretty self evident by the net results. If people feel safer with guns, fine, buy a dozen of them, but we need strict background checks and small magazine capacities. When we take a moment and really confront the intentions and plans both long and short term as we just did with Syria, its apparent there really is no plan. Even the way we distribute humanitarian aid minus military I really don’t think is well thought out. Our foreign policy reads horrible. I don’t think anything will be sliding through without a critical look now. When we live out our faith in fear and trembling in what we call home. Its a bit much after all the chaos of war and abortion, and now daily threats of radical attacks called on the US to then confront gun laws. The burden resides in making the case of why we don’t need guns.
Define “small” (since you didn’t respond to post #141)If people feel safer with guns, fine, buy a dozen of them, but we need strict background checks and **small **magazine capacities.
We need to address the gun violence through mental heath, education, social structure and supervised functioning, all which will lead back to healthy living and the family, morals and values. Connecting the violence with the gun laws, then addressing the gun laws first is another bad plan. We should isolate the problem and address it. Obama wants to point it out, do nothing about it, cause a stir, then attempt to slide his gun control through. He’s failed every time.If people feel safer with guns, fine, buy a dozen of them, but we need strict background checks and small magazine capacities.
I’m guessing that Robert isn’t sure what the clip capacity is right now is why he isn’t answerin. and probably thinks all weapons that hold a clip are automatic weapons. Im guessing he doesn’t know the difference. which is nothing to b ashamed of, I was guess the majority of Americans don’t knowDefine “small” (since you didn’t respond to post #141)
Apparently, “small” is some number greater than 12, since there’s no effective difference between buying a dozen single-shot guns and buying a single gun with a 12-round capacity (except for cost).
I believe the issue in the original article had a capacity of 10 rounds. This means that a deranged shooter get 10 shoots before reloading, injuring or killing 10 people. Larger capacities mean more people getting killed or injured.Define “small” (since you didn’t respond to post #141)

and how fast can someone load a clip?I believe the issue in the original article had a capacity of 10 rounds. This means that a deranged shooter get 10 shoots before reloading, injuring or killing 10 people. Larger capacities mean more people getting killed or injured.
