A question that I have, Why are you not willing to answer any of these questions in the Open?

At least one or two of them

Is there something that concerns you? Like someone might come forward and correct you on the spot?

Here just answer two of them for everyone here.
  • In the sermon on the mount, when Jesus was addressing the “great crowd” (Lk 6:17), why did he tell them in Lk 6:22-23, “…your reward is great in heaven …”?
  • The Bible says that ONLY God is our savior (Hos 13:4, Isa 43:11,45:21, etc.). How can it be then, that the Bible repeatedly says that Jesus Christ is our savior (Lk 2:11, Phil 3:20, Tit 2:13, 3:6, 2Pet 1:1, 2:20, 3:18, etc.)?
These two will due fine, these ones interest me a little more than the rest.
Still hoping someone will answer these questions. It’s been a couple of days.

Does no one have any answers?

whats the question? the quote looks like a statement. maybe I don’t get it ? please explain.

I think the JW’s have left the “room”🤷 Otherwise I am sure that they would offer their insight to your questions.

Not that I’m suggesting you do it, but if someone tells them that they used to be a Jehovah’s Witness, they will back away rather rapidly.

Dear Kay Cee,

Here is the answer for you…
The Bible says that ONLY God is our savior (Hos 13:4, Isa 43:11,45:21, etc.). How can it be then, that the Bible repeatedly says that Jesus Christ is our savior (Lk 2:11, Phil 3:20, Tit 2:13, 3:6, 2Pet 1:1, 2:20, 3:18, etc.)?
(Isaiah 43:11) I—I am YHWH, and besides me there is no savior.”

If you get out your bible concordance and do a search for the word “savior” you will quickly see that when YHWH does some saving activity, he sends someone to do it for him and calls them a “savior”.

For example:

(Judges 3:9) And the sons of Israel began to call to YHWH for aid. Then **YHWH raised a savior **up for the sons of Israel that he might save them, Oth′ni·el the son of Ke′naz, the younger brother of Ca′leb.

(Judges 3:15) And the sons of Israel began to call to YHWH for aid. So **YHWH raised up for them a savior, E′hud **the son of Ge′ra, a Ben′ja·mite, a left-handed man. In time the sons of Israel sent tribute by his hand to Eg′lon the king of Mo′ab.

(1 Samuel 23:5) Accordingly David went with his men to Kei′lah and fought against the Phi·lis′tines and drove off with their livestock, but struck them down with a great slaughter; and David came to be the savior of the inhabitants of Kei′lah.

How is this possible for someone else to be called “savior” when YHWH specifically and absolutely said “besides me there is no savior?” Read Judges 3:9 very carefully and note that YHWH is the one that “saves” them, but He does this by means of raising up a “savior”

(Judges 3:9) And the sons of Israel began to call to YHWH for aid. Then YHWH raised a savior up for the sons of Israel that he might save them, Oth´ni•el the son of Ke´naz, the younger brother of Ca´leb.

But, didn’t YHWH specifically say “besides me there is no savior”? Wasn’t that an absolute statement?

Apparently, when He makes statements like that, it does not prevent him from working through others and having them assume the same descriptive title of savior.

Also, please note that at Judges 3:9, the same Hebrew word (moh•shi´a‛, rendered “savior” or “deliverer”) that is used at Isaiah 43:11 for YHWH is applied to Othniel, a judge in Israel, but that certainly did not make Othniel YHWH, did it? No, of course not.

A reading of Isaiah 43:1-12 shows that verse 11 means that YHWH alone was the One who provided salvation, or deliverance, for Israel; that salvation did not come from any of the gods of the surrounding nations.

YHWH provides salvation by those he sends, like Othniel, Ehud, David… and even Jesus. Thus, Othniel, Ehud, David, and Jesus can be called “saviors” without violating the scriptures sited that say YHWH is the only savior.

Thus, the fact that Jesus is called a savior doesn’t prove he is YHWH anymore than David, Ehud, Othniel being called savior would make them YHWH.

YHWH has simply sent people as saviors to help his people.

Thanks for your question.

Yahweh has simply sent saviors to help his people…

Jesus Christ:

a) created the world and everything in it,
b) holds the universe, with it’s billions of galaxies,
in existence by his own power, right down to the very
last subatomic particle
c) holds in existence by his own power
all of even the angels and the demons
d) is the person FOR WHOM all things EXIST
e) uniquely bridges the gap between God and Man (THE mediator)

So, Jesus is much more than some “simply sent” savior.

But true enough, God does sometimes use terms like savior in a much lesser sense. This is the same thing we Catholics do when we call the Mary, Joseph, and the other Saints in heaven
little “mediators” between us and God. They are NOT the one, all-encompassing divine Mediator, Jesus, but they are his close friends and family and they pray for us, and asking them to do so is not worshiping them nor is it idolatry. Any way.

Dear Kay Cee,

Here is the other answer to your question:
In the sermon on the mount, when Jesus was addressing the “great crowd” (Lk 6:17), why did he tell them in Lk 6:22-23, “…your reward is great in heaven …”?
The reason this question was thrown out is because Jehovah’s Witnesses understand “the great crowd” who came “out of the great tribulation” of Rev 7:9, 14 to be a group of people who will live here on earth, while a smaller group of 144,000 will be invited to live in heaven and operate as kings and priests in Christ’s Kingdom. (Rev 5:9, 10)

(Revelation 7:9, 14) After these things I saw, and, look! a great crowd, which no man was able to number, out of all nations and tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes; and there were palm branches in their hands….So right away I said to him: “My lord, you are the one that knows.” And he said to me: “These are the ones that come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

(Revelation 5:9-10) And they sing a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals, because you were slaughtered and with your blood you bought persons for God out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, 10 and you made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they are to rule as kings over the earth.”

So, the questioner is wanting to prove the “great crowd” of Revelation is headed for heaven, since Jesus at one point talked to a big group of people about heavenly rewards and this big group was called “a great crowd”.

A careful Bible reader will quickly realize the phrase “great crowd” is quite common in the Bible. Do a search in a concordance and you’ll find it about 25+ times.

“Great crowd(s)” is sometimes used with regard to the large groups of persons who heard Jesus Christ’s public teaching. (Mt 14:14; 19:2; 20:29)

Also, after the vision of the destruction of the symbolic Babylon the Great, the apostle John heard “what was as a loud voice of a great crowd in heaven.” (Re 19:1) At Revelation 7:9, however, “a great crowd” is mentioned whose identification has particularly been a matter of keen interest.

In this chapter, the apostle John first refers to the sealing of 144,000 slaves of God “out of every tribe of the sons of Israel.” (Re 7:2-8) After this, he saw in a vision “a great crowd” out of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues. These ascribe their salvation to God and to the Lamb as they stand before God’s throne. They have come out of “the great tribulation,” they serve God in his temple, and he spreads his tent over them. All their hunger and thirst are to be ended and every tear is to be wiped from their eyes as his Son (the Lamb; Joh 1:29) guides them to the waters of life.—Re 7:9-17.

Popular Views. Various views have been advanced as to the significance and identification of this “great crowd.” Many commentators view the 144,000 sealed ones, first mentioned, as members of “spiritual Israel” and believe that they symbolize the Christian congregation while on earth. They feel that the “great crowd” represents that same Christian congregation in heaven, after the individuals have died in faith and have been resurrected. (continued)

(continued)
Others hold that the 144,000 are literally from “every tribe of the sons of Israel” (Re 7:4), that is, fleshly Jews who become Christians, and they consider the “great crowd” to represent all the Gentile Christians. A consideration of Revelation chapter 7 and other related texts, however, reveals serious inconsistencies in these views, at the same time pointing to a different conclusion.

To hold that the 144,000 sealed ones are the members of the Christian congregation while on earth whereas the “great crowd” are the resurrected Christians in heaven does not harmonize with the other mention of the 144,000, in Revelation chapter 14. There the 144,000 are stationed with the Lamb on “Mount Zion.” At Hebrews 12:18-24 the apostle Paul contrasts the experience of the Israelites at the earthly Mount Sinai with that of the Christians who have “approached a Mount Zion and a city of the living God, heavenly Jerusalem, and myriads of angels, in general assembly, and the congregation of the firstborn who have been enrolled in the heavens.” Obviously, then, although Revelation 14:3 says that the 144,000 have been “bought from the earth,” the context depicts them as being, not on earth, but in heaven with the heavenly Lamb, Christ Jesus. (Re 14:3, 4) This renders invalid the view that the 144,000 represent the Christian congregation while on earth in contrast with their being the “great crowd” in heaven.

Additionally, the way in which the apostle John introduces his vision of the “great crowd” indicates a clear distinction of identity between them and the 144,000 sealed ones. He states: “After these things [the account of the 144,000 sealed ones] I saw, and, look! a great crowd, which no man was able to number.” (Re 7:9) He thus presents the “great crowd” as a separate entity and makes a definite contrast between the specific number of the 144,000 and the unnumbered “great crowd.” They are also distinguished by their being, not “of the sons of Israel,” but out of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues. They are not seen standing ‘with the Lamb’ as are the 144,000, at Revelation 14:1, but are “before the Lamb.” These several factors all argue that the “great crowd” is separate and distinct from the 144,000 sealed ones. (continued)

(continued)
On the other hand, the view that here Christians of Jewish stock are being distinguished from Gentile Christians runs counter to the apostle Paul’s inspired statement that fleshly distinctions are of no consideration in the Christian congregation, its members being all one in union with Christ Jesus. (Ro 10:12; Ga 3:28) Jehovah, having ‘fully reconciled both peoples [Jews and non-Jews] to himself in one body’ through Christ, could hardly be expected to make a division between the two groups now by separating fleshly Jews from Gentiles in the vision given to John. (Eph 2:11-21; Ac 15:7-9) This is particularly evident when the divine principle stated by Paul is taken into account. The apostle wrote: “He is not a Jew who is one on the outside, nor is circumcision that which is on the outside upon the flesh. But he is a Jew who is one on the inside, and his circumcision is that of the heart by spirit.” (Ro 2:28, 29) Why, too, would there be no mention of any ‘sealing’ of the Gentile Christians in this divine vision? And why would not the Gentile Christians be able to master the new song sung by the 144,000? (Re 14:3) It thus seems clear that the 144,000 sealed ones are of spiritual Israel, not fleshly Israel—hence include both Jewish and Gentile Christians.—Ga 6:16.

**Their Identification. **The key to the identification of the “great crowd” is found within the description of them in Revelation chapter 7 and in obviously parallel passages. Revelation 7:15-17 speaks of God as ‘spreading his tent over them,’ of their being guided to “fountains of waters of life,” and of God’s wiping “every tear from their eyes.” At Revelation 21:2-4 we find parallel expressions: ‘God’s tent being with mankind,’ his ‘wiping every tear from their eyes,’ and ‘death being no more.’ The vision there presented is concerning persons not in heaven, from where the ‘New Jerusalem comes down,’ but on earth, among mankind.

This poses the question: If the “great crowd” are persons who gain salvation and remain on earth, how could they be said to be ‘standing before God’s throne and before the Lamb’? (Re 7:9) The position of ‘standing’ is sometimes used in the Bible to indicate the holding of a favored or approved position in the eyes of the one in whose presence the individual or group stands. (Ps 1:5; 5:5; Pr 22:29, AT; Lu 1:19) In fact, in the previous chapter of Revelation, “the kings of the earth and the top-ranking ones and the military commanders and the rich and the strong ones and every slave and every free person” are depicted as seeking to hide themselves “from the face of the One seated on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb, because the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?” (Re 6:15-17; compare Lu 21:36.) It thus appears that the “great crowd” is formed of those persons who have been preserved during that time of wrath and who have been able to “stand” as approved by God and the Lamb.

The Lamb’s guiding them to “fountains of waters of life” finds a parallel at Revelation 22:17, which says: “The spirit and the bride keep on saying: ‘Come!’ And let anyone hearing say: ‘Come!’ and let anyone thirsting come; let anyone that wishes take life’s water free.” The “bride” is clearly identified in the Scriptures as the anointed Christian congregation, espoused to the heavenly Bridegroom, Christ Jesus. (Eph 5:25-27; 2Co 11:2; Re 19:7-9; 21:9-11) The invitation to “take life’s water free” presented by the heavenly “bride” class is obviously open to an unlimited number of persons, “anyone that wishes.” Likewise unnumbered are the “great crowd,” the vision at Revelation 7:9 thereby harmonizing with that at Revelation 22:17.

The sum of the evidence, therefore, points to the “great crowd” as representing all those persons who are not of the heavenly “bride” class, or 144,000 sealed ones, but who stand approved at the time of the “great tribulation” and are preserved alive on earth.

BibleSteve, i don’t know how to state this clearly without offending you, and if i do i am sorry. I will say nothing anti- JW , but,
  1. Jesus Christ is GOD.
    1a) no Jesus, no salvation.
  2. JC, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit are three unique manifestations of the divine will of God. Jesus is not God the Father and the Holy Spirit is not Jesus but they all have the collective will of God in them. God is not fathomable. Jehovah has been reasoned down into something fathomable.
  3. Every single person on this forum will agree with the above two statements.
  4. The reason we ask you questions is not because we are curious, it is because we hope that you can see the error of YOUR ways. We want to save YOU.
BibleSteve, I plead with you to visit your closest Catholic church, and sneak in the back. No one will bother you, i promise. Locate the tabernacle, and sincerely with all your heart pray and ask Jesus if he’s really there. Ask him if he is God. Ask God if Jesus is there.

I have experienced a very powerful and emotional result from asking the above questions, and I think Jesus wants to bring you back to the flock. I implore you, please do this before posting again, please!

Most of the Catholics here have very strong spirituality, as well as a firm grounding in the basis of their faith. Knowing God personally and knowing about God are two different things entirely. We play by different rules, relying on faith and feeling rather than relativist interpretation of scripture.

Once the love of Jesus fills your heart just once in your life, it is something you never ever forget, and that you will want to share with the whole world.

I wish you to have this gift also.

Peace in Christ,

how about when mary went to see elizibeth and eliz. said why is the mother of my lord comming to see me .[my lord atitle for God] impling Jesus is God plus there are other implications there also

Dear Kay Cee,

Here is the answer for you…

(Isaiah 43:11) I—I am YHWH, and besides me there is no savior.”

If you get out your bible concordance and do a search for the word “savior” you will quickly see that when YHWH does some saving activity, he sends someone to do it for him and calls them a “savior”.

For example:

(Judges 3:9) And the sons of Israel began to call to YHWH for aid. Then **YHWH raised a savior **up for the sons of Israel that he might save them, Oth′ni·el the son of Ke′naz, the younger brother of Ca′leb.

Thanks for your question.
How does Acts 4:12 work with all that you stated above??

Looks like the name Jehovah isn’t who we call on here…

And, thanks to them, you have that right as well, should you choose to excersise it.
I wonder legal eagle, could you provide case citations as to where the Jw’s enhanced the right to free speech. I would think that what actions they took were more akin to that crazy, so called baptist, bunch that went around the country interrupting the funerals of our soldiers. This type of abuse of rights I believe is encouraging this nations slide to a police state. I would appreciate your enlightenment on this. I understand that their so called freedom of speech issues derived from early the 1900,s with the Jw’s going outside churches and interrupting services by shouting slogans declaring the church a criminal racket. I hope you will correct me if I am wrong and provide the source of your of the materials correction. Peace

Pay keen attention to the context:

(Acts 4:12) Furthermore, there is no salvation in anyone else, for there is not another name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must get saved.”

Under heaven… among men…

“BEFORE you shut the door on a Jehovah’s Witness,” says an article in the newspaper USA Today, “pause to consider the shameful persecution they suffered not too long ago, as well as the rich contribution they have made to the First Amendment freedoms we all enjoy.” Jehovah’s Witnesses were persecuted in the United States throughout the 1940’s for, among other things, refusing to salute the flag.—Exodus 20:4, 5.
Some 30 cases involving Jehovah’s Witnesses came before the U.S. Supreme Court in the five-year period between 1938 and 1943. The article says: “So frequently did Witnesses raise core First Amendment issues that Justice Harlan Fiske Stone wrote, ‘The Jehovah’s Witnesses ought to have an endowment in view of the aid which they give in solving the legal problems of civil liberties.’”

Thus, near its conclusion the article states: “All religions have the Jehovah’s Witnesses to thank for the expansion of [religious] freedom.”

Regarding the contribution made by the Witnesses to the defense of civil rights in the United States, the University of Cincinnati Law Review said: “Jehovah’s Witnesses have had a profound impact on the evolution of constitutional law, particularly by expanding the parameters of the protection for speech and religion.”

With each legal victory, the wall gets stronger. Consider a few of the decisions in the 1990’s that have benefited Jehovah’s Witnesses, as well as all other lovers of freedom, the world over.

Greece. On May 25, 1993, the European Court of Human Rights upheld the right of a Greek citizen to teach his religious beliefs to others. The case involved Minos Kokkinakis, then 84 years old. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Kokkinakis had been arrested more than 60 times since 1938, had been made to appear 18 times before Greek courts, and had spent more than six years in prison. He had been convicted largely under a 1930’s Greek law that prohibits proselytism—a law that was responsible for nearly 20,000 arrests of Jehovah’s Witnesses from 1938 to 1992. The European Court ruled that the Greek government had violated the religious freedom of Kokkinakis and awarded him damages in the amount of $14,400. In its decision, the Court ruled that Jehovah’s Witnesses are indeed a “known religion.”

Mexico. On July 16, 1992, a big step in the defense of religious freedom was taken in Mexico. On that date the Law of Religious Associations and Public Worship was enacted. Through this law, a religious group can receive legal status as a religious institution by obtaining the required registry. Previously, Jehovah’s Witnesses, like other religions in the country, existed de facto but had no legal status. On April 13, 1993, the Witnesses applied for registration. Happily, on May 7, 1993, they became legally registered as La Torre del Vigía, A. R., and Los Testigos de Jehová en México, A. R., both of which are religious associations.—See Awake!, July 22, 1994, pages 12-14.

Brazil. In November 1990, Brazil’s National Institute of Social Security (INSS) notified the branch office of the Watch Tower Society that volunteer ministers at Bethel (the name of branch facilities of Jehovah’s Witnesses) would no longer be viewed as religious ministers and would therefore come under Brazil’s labor laws. The Witnesses appealed the decision. On June 7, 1996, the Judicial Advisory of the Office of the Attorney General in Brasília issued a decision upholding the position of ministers at Bethel as members of a legitimate religious order, not as secular employees.

Japan. On March 8, 1996, the Supreme Court of Japan handed down a decision on the issue of education and freedom of religion—to the benefit of everyone in Japan. The court unanimously ruled that Kobe Municipal Industrial Technical College violated the law by expelling Kunihito Kobayashi for his refusal to participate in martial arts training. This ruling marks the first time that the Supreme Court has handed down a decision based on religious freedom guaranteed by the Japan Constitution. Following his Bible-trained conscience, this young Witness felt that these drills were not in harmony with such Bible principles as the one found at Isaiah 2:4, which says: “They will have to beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, neither will they learn war anymore.” The Court’s decision established a precedent for future cases.

On February 9, 1998, the Tokyo High Court handed down another landmark decision upholding the right of a Witness named Misae Takeda to refuse medical treatment that is not in harmony with the Bible’s command to ‘abstain from blood.’ (Acts 15:28, 29) This case has been appealed to the Supreme Court, and it remains to be seen if the High Court’s decision will be upheld.
Philippines. In a decision handed down on March 1, 1993, the Philippine Supreme Court ruled unanimously in favor of Jehovah’s Witnesses in a case involving Witness youths who were expelled from school because they respectfully declined to salute the flag.
Each favorable court ruling is like an added stone or brick strengthening the legal wall that protects the rights not only of Jehovah’s Witnesses but of all people.

In his book These Also Believe, Professor C. S. Braden writes: “They [Jehovah’s Witnesses] have performed a signal service to democracy by their fight to preserve their civil rights, for in their struggle they have done much to secure those rights for every minority group in America. When the civil rights of any one group are invaded, the rights of no other group are safe. They have therefore made a definite contribution to the preservation of some of the most precious things in our democracy.”
