The only thing I might see that could be questioned, and again there is not information available, is whether this group Family Allies for Transgender Equality in NYS is a problematic partner. I looked them up and the only place I found them was on Facebook, which I can’t access. Yes, I do have issues with Catholic Churches partnering with groups that depart from Catholic teaching. It gives the appearance of Church sanction to immoral or heretical beliefs.

Its a little strange and as a resident of Syracuse I’ve gone by the parish even on their sign they have a gay pride sticker of the rainbow flag in the corner of it.

Feelings are not sinful. Regardless of the reality of male and female, there are many who suffer from there feelings of conflict over their gender. It is totally right an proper that the Catholic Church, in charity, address all who suffer, especially children, and leave the science to the scientist. Now I do not believe in transgender, and will not until the science becomes clear which I doubt will ever happen. But the phenomena is undeniably growing (evidence of a psychological causality, in my opinion). As long as the needs of the children are addressed within the scope of Catholic teaching, I do not see what the problem is.

However, what is the likelihood of that being the case when the events are co-sponsored by “Family Allies for Trans Equality in New York State” and feature a workshop with a spokesperson from “Empire State Pride Agenda”?

Like I said, the first group had no information. I missed the second organization on the flier. I looked them up and concur. having a speaker in a Catholic Church with ties to the promotion of sexual immorality is abhorrent and wrong.

If you take a look at their “resources” page, fatenys.org/resources/, you will see two links back to the “Empire State Pride Agenda”

The other thing is if you look throughout the site, you will see talk about “transition” – that, in essence, is talking about hormones, surgery, and prosthetic measures to help the poor soul present him/herself as the gender he/she wishes to be.

As you can read from Pope Benedict’s words, posted above, those actions take it away from “feelings” and “a cross” into the realm of “actions” – and that crosses the line.

The right thing to do is cure Gender Identity Disorder, not affirm this. If a person has a drug/alcohol problem, the right thing to do is treat this, not affirm it. There is something wrong with a man thinking he is a woman or a woman thinking she is a man. It is mutilation with dangerous hormones. Most transexuals were sexually abused in childhood which messed up their minds. I’m against sex changes for same reason as oppose trying to make a White person Black or viceversa because they think theyre another race, it doesn’t take an expert to know that hormone shots + the maiming surgery damages body. If they knew how to change skin color, they would be making justifications for changing color of people who think they are of other race as they now do for sex changes. Transexuals have antisocial personalities because the hormone shots and hormone pills o damage mind. The lifetime of hormone shots and pills are linked to cancer.

1 would hope that feminists would oppose the mutilation, yet most feminists are not condemning genital and breast mutilation as what happened to Chastity where her healthy breasts were mutilated, dangerous hormone shots and genitals mutilated. Ted W. Lieu who sponsored the California law is against therapy for gays and lesbians who want to be straight as California law banned it for minors. Don’t be surprised if in future, Ted W. Lieu or those like him would ban therapy altogether for gays/lesbianism and the 2012 law is first step. Ted W. Lieu is likely an apologist for sex changes and Ted W. Lieu sees nothing wrong with giving a kid hormones to make them fake opposite sex members. Childhood sexual abuse is linked to this as it is linked to homosexuality and lesbianism. S

Yet when 1 talks gay/lesbian behaviors and transexuality in adulthood because they learned this sexual behavior by being repeatedly molested, then gays with politically safe psychologists complain. The politically correct psychologists who deny this know it’s possible for a boy to turn out gay as a result of childhood sex abuse, yet deny what they know is true. Of course, not all who are sexually abused in youth become gay in adulthood-but the risk is higher. Many transexual gays and lesbians who commit suicide do so because they often were childhood sex abuse victims and have other copathologies such as antisocial conduct, drugs, etc. Homosexual groups will use the mantra societal attitudes but it’s more complicated. People who have suffered sex abuse (which many transexual gays and lesbians have) in youth often have problems in adulthood and this includes suicides.

I am not sure where you are getting this information, most if not all of the above is based on misinformation.

It is widely accepted that as of today, properly diagnosed Gender Dysphoria can only be alleviated by Hormone therapy.

God creates us who we are, to include what sex we are. If you, being male, take female hormones in order to present yourself more female, you are fundamentally denying this (or, likewise if you’re female and take male hormones).

The primary thing is to deal with stuff like depression, the secondary effect is that it feminizes or masculinizes the person’s appearance therefore it is permissible under the principle of double effect.

I would think that the primary effect would be to help “transition” the person and then, as a result of “transitioning”, the person would be less depressed.

I am not a psychologist nor a psychiatrist. I do not proffer psychological assistance.

I am a Catholic. I go with the Magisterium of the Church. And if anybody offers something, particularly in a Catholic Church, that goes against that Magisterium, then there are grave, grave problems that result. Invariably.

The speech I pointed you to in #12, above, did answer your question. But it seems, based upon your response here, as if you are not willing to hear the answer.

God created us as man and woman. We do not have the option to change that. If we usurp that authority from God, it destroys us as human beings. And it will destroy society in the long run. Now if a mental health person chooses to operate from that paradigm, God bless them. If a mental health person chooses to offer physical or psychic assistance at mutilating the person’s body or their soul, then God help them.
