Answering a poll is different from actually voting.

I would answer a poll favoring Romney over Obama, but I do not believe I would vote for him. In fact, most of the people I know are having real anxiety over the prospect of choosing between Obama or Romney. A few say they simply will not vote.

I can’t disagree with them, I believe the man to be a closet socialist myself.

Actually, don’t be so sure about Obama beating Romney.

CNN (remember that)-------did a poll about less than a week ago which anticipated November of next year regarding Romney vs. Obama. The poll (from what I remember) posited Romney basically at a dead heat with Obama—with Obama having an advantage of 2-3 points. Of course, things may be different next year, but as of right now, Romney has a chace of beating Obama.

The REALLY interesting finding happened when Romney was set up against Hillary Clinton. In that context, she ended up crushing Romney by over 30 points.
Total beatdown.

Two women accused Cain of sexually harrassing them. Whether or not the accuastions are true can be determined in court if they choose to to press charges.

The paranoia of some people on this forum is evident in the fact that everyone from Barack Obama to the mysterous colltively conscious spirit known as “the Left” to the Clintons have been blamed for this. Rush Limbaugh has apparently blamed it on the fact that Cain is black, and that ‘the Left’ are trying to paint him as a black stereotype, forgetting, of course, that nobody is painting anyone; two women, real people, accused Cain of sexually harassing them.

Now, rather than blaming the various boogeymen, if someone objects to the accusations being made, perhaps they could try to contact the individuals who made the accusation, and inquire as to why they made the accusations. Hire a private detective if you’d like. Sue the media networks to release their names under the Freedom of Information Act. I don’t know, do whatever; some of the reactions here just don’t seem that rational though.

Don’t you think Romney would appeal more to moderates and independents than Herman Cain? I do agree with something Michelle Bachmann said weeks ago though, you shouldn’t have to settle.

I have a theory that the backing for Romney comes from people beaten down by liberal politics that have been destroying this country for the past few years.

The feeling is that the country is ‘liberal’ so we need a candidate that can appeal to that.

I do not share that POV. I believe there is a backlash against liberal politics forming, and the candidate of choice for that will be the farthest from left wing politics that can be found. Cain fits the bill nicely. Romney has -]ObamaCare/-] romneycare hanging around his neck like a millstone.

The point of the whole conversation that I take away is that it’s only the ‘race card’ when ‘the left’ brings up race as a reason for politicians being attacked. Otherwise, it is political discourse.

You know originally I thought this way about Cain, before I heard his last speech. I have a very different impression now. Time will tell.

Could he be being coached on public speaking and sticking to the issue? I wouldn’t doubt it. Truth is it takes a bit of practice to be proficient at.

Obama and Romney are good speakers. Roemer is a good public speaker. Cain is confortable in front of people though. Singing acapella isn’t easy to do in public. He’s gonna continue to get better without a doubt.

I do think Romney is fairly conservative, his position on immigration and abortion for instance are hardly the stands of a moderate or a liberal. Because Romney is a great debater I think in debates with Obama he could get out of any major comparisons they try to make between RomneyCare and ObamaCare, they do have major differences. But I understand what you are saying.

Cain is the ultimate insider. He was head of the Federal Reserve in Kansas City and was a lobbyist in Washington, D.C.

In fact, don’t even try to tell an unscripted joke even if you are stone-cold sober. If someone even so much as thinks they overheard you throwing out a “that’s what she said,” in a private conversation you’re obviously disqualified from running for president.

Well, unless you’re a Democrat. Then you can directly solicit subordinates for sexual favors and even admit to having extramarital affairs with your subordinates on the job and still be considered a prominent elder statesman.

There both very good public speakers with Obama/Romney. It would be an interesting debate. There’s no doubt in my mind Romney has already considered this senerio. Should be interesting.

Wasn’t Romney Pro-Choice once upon a time also? He’s already known to switch his stance through time though.

Next couple months will give everyone a clearer idea. If I remember with Hillary Clinton I believe it was one debate which caught here off guard. I can’t remember the issue. Personally I like Hillary Clinton. She would have made a very good first female President IMHO.
