At least the media is giving equal coverage to the relevant Presidential news stories. Tag this the next time someone pretends to disbelieve the notion that there is no bias in the MSM.
Of course there is bias. There always is.

But aren’t the candidates trying to raise money to affect that bias?

Again, the third parties are the ones who should be complaining. They get almost NO free airtime. Trump may be right about one thing, the system is rigged alright. But not against him or Sanders that much.

Hey, we’re talking about lawyers here.
Well, I don’t know. Don’t lawyers exist on a spectrum like anyone else? There must be ethical, upstanding lawyers, just as surely as there are shady, amoral ones. I’m not trying to put down the entire profession, just the awful ones. 🤷

Right; it’s not fair to play “twenty questions” with somebody and expect them to remember all the details when it happened years ago
You don’t think that something like that would be too traumatic too forget?

So why are the wikileaks coming out right now? Haven’t they had months and years to put this information out? Or is wikileaks just trying to get more attention and money by doing it now?

No. Both sides are doing it because they think it is important to the nation and now is the last chance.
I doubt that Julian Assange has the US’s best interests at heart. And what he’s putting out are not things that are personal to him. He’s merely publishing emails from Hillary’s cronies.
The accusations against Trump are all heresay, some distant “memories” from women who don’t know which airlines they were flying on when supposedly groped or the fact that the concert they were grabbed at never took place. And so vague rumors fly around with no proof. How convenient!

I still find it interesting (and encouraging), however, that there are some prominent Evangelicals like Mohler who are also self-described “Never Trump” people.
Yes, let’s instead vote for a woman who’s a habitual liar as well as someone who supports Planned Parenthood and Same Sex marriage.

Except he has been saying for months that he was going to publish them. Why did he wait until October???

And who members of the FBI and DOJ say should have been indicted.

I was trying to put down the entire profession but in a tongue-in-cheek fashion. The fact is, they are trained to represent their clients, which makes them the modern day equivalent of ancient Greece’s sophists.

The media is doing exactly what it was mandated to do OR paid to do. They are giving both candidates equal time to talk. They are always free to comment. I don’t hear Trump (or Clinton, for that matter) complaining that they aren’t given coverage. How can they say the press isn’t fair to them? OTOH, third parties are the ones who should complain. Who even knows they exist?
I don’t know that the media is giving both candidates time to talk. Even if they are both featured an equal amount of time there is a big difference in attacking one candidate and having a loveliest for another.

I don’t know what the media is supposed to do. The idea of fairly presenting all sides of the issue is a myth dreamed up in journalism schools to lend gravitas to the profession. What the media does is keep the establishment established. What it does is promote the power of the state. What it does is frame the debate by choosing what questions to ask and which to ignore. As you point out the third parties mostly get ignored, but that is just the media doings its job.

Trump is so dumb…
The system is rigged, and that’s precisely why he is the candidate.

He is the only one she could have beaten.

These allegations may not change the minds of his base, or those of us who realize what’s at stake in this election and realize we must vote for him.
But unfortunately, I think that these allegations against Trump, true or not, are going to cause a lot of people, especially women, to either stay home, or cast a vote for Hillary or a third party candidate.
So I think ,unless things turn around quickly, we got Hillary on November 9th.😦
He already is not that popular with women and minorities as it is.
And unfortunately, the Republican party will be in disarray then, as their will be a lot of " I told you so’s, ect.😦

Bernie Sanders has stated that Trump is a pathological liar. There’s no reason to believe anything that Trump says. In this case, he either lied about what he does to women, or he’s lying now. He has proven over and over that he is completely unfit for office. It’s interesting to compare Trump’s speech yesterday versus Michelle Obama’s speech. Trump’s speech was filled with conspiracy theories, while the First Lady spoke of human decency. Trump will be soundly defeated at the polls, and rightfully so.
Yes, and Sanders is now a Hillary supporter, a woman who has been caught out in lies about Bengazi among other things. That negates what he has to say about Trump. The mass media is waging an all out war against Trump in a last minute bid to save Hillary, They’re in her camp!
Where in Trump’s speech does he speak of conspiracies? He talked about jobs, energy, Supreme Court judges, etc. I didn’t see anything amounting to talk about a conspiracy.
And what does Michelle Obama or her husband for that matter have to do with what’s going on in the presidential race? The answer should be: nothing. The sitting president (and wife) if they have any class, will stay out of what’s going on in the race since they are not in it.

So many people just keep letting the mass media lead them around by the nose. They follow along blindly, believing the media’s drivel instead of fighting back and thinking for themselves.

It will be interesting, if your scenario plays out, to see where the Republican Party goes from here. I’m certain a loss at the polls will be blamed by Trump and his followers on the likes of Paul Ryan, John McCain, the MSM, on fraud, on everything and everyone except Donald J Trump of course. The table already seems to being set in that regard. But will the establishment GOP regain the party by 2020? Will the Trump base form a 3rd party? I can also imagine another 15+ field for the GOP nomination in 2020. Can the GOP win without the Trump base? Can the Trump movement win without more support from the establishment GOP? In national elections, will this one have long term implications for the GOP with women in the foreseeable future? So many questions for the Republican Party and Trump supporters to answer amidst the disarray should HRC go on to win. One thing the GOP will have going for it is that in 2020 HRC would be going for a 4th consecutive Democratic term. But then otoh 3 consecutive by 1 party has only occurred once since 1948. Lets not get too far ahead of ourselves though. We still have this one to finish getting thru and I think we all will need a breather before the next begins. :yup:

On Wednesday, 11 women came forward with reports that they had been groped or peeped on by Trump. Yesterday, a 12th woman, Lisa Boyne, came forward. Today, a 13th woman, Kristin Anderson, has also come forward, reporting that he sexually assaulted her at a nightclub in the early 1990s.
Anderson was deep in conversation with acquaintances at a crowded Manhattan nightspot and did not notice the figure to her right on a red velvet couch — until, she recalls, his fingers slid under her miniskirt, moved up her inner thigh, and touched her vagina through her underwear.
Anderson shoved the hand away, fled the couch and turned to take her first good look at the man who had touched her, she said.
She recognized him as Donald Trump…
The episode, as Anderson described it, lasted no more than 30 seconds. Anderson said she and her companions were “very grossed out and weirded out” and thought, “Okay, Donald is gross. We all know he’s gross. Let’s just move on.”
…As Trump has done with others who have made accusations, his campaign said that Anderson is making the whole thing up.
“Mr. Trump strongly denies this phony allegation by someone looking to get some free publicity. It is totally ridiculous,” Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks said in an emailed statement.
A “phony allegation” that describes exactly what Trump claimed he does on the recording with Billy Bush. That is, just grabbing women’s genitalia unsolicited.

Over the course of several days leading up to the debate, we heard Trump admit that he kisses and gropes women without their consent, and that he walked in on naked pageant contestants. Women who had been subjected to these acts, many of whom have said they questioned themselves and/or what really happened, had their experiences validated by the man who assaulted them. Then, during the presidential debate, Anderson Cooper asked Trump whether his “locker room talk” had ever been more than just talk. Trump said no. Women to whom he had actually done these things then decided they could no longer keep their stories to themselves.

The suggestion that these women are motivated by trying to influence the election elides that Trump invited these accounts to be made public by lying, very publicly lying.

It’s also cruel to accuse a woman of doing this for “free publicity,” given that several of the women who’ve come forward have had their personal contact information widely shared. There is a cost to speaking out. Trump and his allies have made sure of that.
