Do they have communist music playing too? CNN interviewed a few civilians, scared to death, they were comparing Putin to Hitler too. Oh well, we’re awaiting our wonder of a leader, he’s wondering how he’s going to sell military cuts on Wednesday and convince Israel today all is well in Palestine and Iran. All bad for business as the stock markets fall worldwide.
“Military cuts” hmm, that’s a strange way of spelling "All we are doing is moving allocated resources from our personnel department to the bloated F-35 program which will cost us trillions and not get us even one working aircraft "

I just saw that on Sky News. The markets are in freefall.

15:58: The press office for the Ukraine defence ministry in Crimea confirms to the BBC that an ultimatum from Russia’s Black Sea Fleet has been delivered. The Russian naval forces are said to have given Ukraine’s forces in the region until 05:00 local time (03:00 GMT) to surrender or else face an all-out assault.
😦

I think I saw the same news report – they said that the Moscow stock market alone dropped about 10 percent today. And the exchange rates for both the Ukrainian hryvnya and the Russian ruble are falling quickly. This is not good economic news for Russia.

Another question the MSM won’t ask:

Ask yourself why “man-of-the-people” George Soros is funding Ukraine “nationalists”, has been trying to buy the Ukraine since at least the early 1990’s and now, along with Internationalist NGO’s, is playing stupid covert political games that this time, in Ukraine, by calculation or miscalculation, twisted the Russians into crossing Putin’s red line.

**BBC - Russia demands surrender of Ukraine’s Crimea forces
The Russian military has given Ukrainian forces in Crimea until 03:00 GMT to surrender or face an assault, Ukrainian defence sources have said.**
The head of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet Aleksander Vitko set the deadline and threatened an attack “across Crimea”.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov earlier said Russia was responding to “ultra-nationalist threats”.
Western powers have condemned Moscow’s decision to send troops as a “violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty”.
Russia is now said to be in de facto control of the Crimea region.
Ukraine has ordered full mobilisation to counter the intervention

The answer is: Wait for something to happen then the situation will become clearer.

Right now, all that has happened is Russia responding positively to the authority in Crimea for military assitance, the rest, like the current argument, is a whole lot of talking and esculation trying to understand it. However so far things have been done peacefully. So I say, wait! watch closely! why jump to an answer when such a thing is not known? It might be war or not.

Lets pray that war does not happen.

Edit: Seems things might have got very serious now, but let us keep praying.

Russia spent tons of money for prestige for the Olympics, their stocks now are going down, yet they still decided that police action was necessary in Crimea.

Hopefully this makes people realize just how serious and worried Russia is of the radicals who have taken over parts of Ukraine and how dangerous these neoconservative NGO’s are to peace in the world.

I keep hearing people say Obama needs to “act tough” and “earn respect”: Alright fine, I agree, and the first thing he should do is order the FBI to raid the National Endowment for Democracy, The American Enterprise institute, and other similar organizations and send the leaders of these organizations in chains to Moscow to face trial over there.

This is why the western media is so disgusting and evil: assuming this report of the fleet commander calling for a surrender of remaining naval forces in Crimea is true, look at how our own MSM translates it from NBC news:

*“Surrender or face storm, Russia tells Ukraine” *

Pure propaganda vile pigs, all you, ABC, NBC, FOX, CNN, you pimps will say any hyperbolic headline to catch the viewers

Enough is enough. If there is a limit - this must be over the top. Done.

Just in:
BBC - 16:18: Ukraine’s ambassador to the EU, Konstantin Yeliseyev, told BBC World TV that Russia’s “aggression” was an assault on “the whole system of international law” and “this atmosphere of impunity should be stopped”. He urged “strong, resolute and coordinated action” by Nato and the OSCE security organisation. “It’s time for the world to stand up against the bully,” he said, calling for “coordinated measures - diplomatic and some economic, political and even humanitarian” to “put pressure on the Russian authorities”. He also warned that Ukraine had information that “Russia is preparing some provocation” in the coming hours.

so Ukraine is saying ‘Russia is ready to attack, help us fight them’, has Russia confirmed it?

so Ukraine is saying ‘Russia is ready to attack, help us fight them’, has Russia confirmed it?
This is the same current Ukraine government that has been saying for the last 3 days straight “Russia is invading us” despite the fact that military contractors and the normal black sea fleet are still staying in Crimea

From The Guardian:
German chancellor Angela Merkel told US president Barack Obama that she thought Russian president Vladimir Putin may be “in another world.”
“She was not sure he was in touch with reality, people briefed on the call said. ‘In another world,’ she said,” the New York Times reported.
The Guardian’s Ian Traynor and Patrick Wintour write:
The vast gap between Putin’s and the west’s perceptions of what is taking place in Ukraine is adding to the pressure on the White House to take the lead in what US experts are calling the defining international crisis of Barack Obama’s two terms. Senior US administration officials concede that Putin has taken total control of Crimea.

North Atlantic Council statement on the situation in Ukraine

The North Atlantic Council condemns the Russian Federation’s military escalation in Crimea and expresses its grave concern regarding the authorisation by the Russian Parliament to use the armed forces of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine.

Military action against Ukraine by forces of the Russian Federation is a breach of international law and contravenes the principles of the NATO-Russia Council and the Partnership for Peace. Russia must respect its obligations under the United Nations Charter and the spirit and principles of the OSCE, on which peace and stability in Europe rest. We call on Russia to de-escalate tensions.

We call upon the Russian Federation to honor its international commitments, including those set out in the Budapest Memorandum of 1994, the Treaty on Friendship and Cooperation between Russia and Ukraine of 1997, and the legal framework regulating the presence of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, to withdraw its forces to its bases, and to refrain from any interference elsewhere in Ukraine. We urge both parties to immediately seek a peaceful resolution through bilateral dialogue, with international facilitation, as appropriate, and through the dispatch of international observers under the auspices of the United Nations Security Council or the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

Ukraine is a valued partner for NATO and a founding member of the Partnership for Peace. NATO Allies will continue to support Ukrainian sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity, and the right of the Ukrainian people to determine their own future, without outside interference.

We emphasise the importance of an inclusive political process based on democratic values, respect for human rights, minorities and the rule of law, which fulfils the democratic aspirations of the entire Ukrainian people.

We met today, at Ukraine’s request, to consult in the NATO-Ukraine Commission. We intend to engage with Russia in the NATO-Russia Council.

I know that Sebastopol is Russia’s only warm-water naval base, but does Ukraine have any naval bases outside the Crimea? I’m trying to understand what strategic assets are at risk here.
The Ukraine also has naval bases in Odessa, Novoozerne, and Saky, and (things are moving so fast it’s hard to keep up) already there have been irregulars trying to take over government buildings in Odessa.
Even if they do, most of the Ukraine fleet has either joined Crimea or run off
Source, please? As far as I know, nobody knows the status. If they were able to get to Odessa, they were prudent.

Russia has requested a **third emergency meeting of the UN security council **over the crisis in Ukraine. The meeting is scheduled to begin in about four hours, according to a Luxembourg diplomat who spoke with Reuters:
The council met on Friday and Saturday to discuss the crisis in eastern Ukraine but took no formal action, as expected. Both meetings highlighted the deep divisions between the United States and other Western nations and Russia, which has a major Black Sea naval base in the Crimea region.

Putin is not going to do any stupid moves. He has been around for 15 years and has only done what minimally is needed (for example defending the northern republics above Georgia, recognizing them as independent then pulling back out) He is also been around for long enough to remember the “Russian Vietnam” that was Afghanistan from beginning to end and how that destroyed lives, families, the economy and the nation. No Russian has any interest in taking on the whole of Ukraine, that would be Afghanistan x10 and Putin and all his top brass know it too.
