So it was stupid for the pastor to burn the Koran, but you’re not going to hold him liable in any form for the harm it causes. This is called giving free range to his (the pastors) hate speech. If you can’t agree he needs to be held accountable for his actions then it seems to me like you think this is ok. Are there other moral issues that you feel strongly about but don’t hold people accountable for?
I think that you are confusing between a trigger and a source of moral responsibility. Again I something that triggers my reaction does not have automatically responsibility for my bad behaviors. Usually it is about my issues and not about the trigger. Unrelated factors can trigger my reactions.

I don’t think so. Example, guns don’t kill people, people who pull the trigger on guns kill people. Burning the Koran doesn’t incite violence. A pastor going out of his way to make it public / worldwide knowledge that he’s burning the Koran can incite violence.
These killers might have found another excuse, or maybe not. You’re jumping to conclusions. This doesn’t excuse the pastor for giving them one.

If someone burned a bible, I’d offer them a fire extinguisher and some aloe if they hurt themselves. God isn’t contained in a book. Thats the wonky thing about some Muslims. They are forbidden to make images of God or Muhammed, yet they commit idolatry in how they treat the Koran. Its just paper, glue, ink, and leather.
