Are you honestly unclear on who is taking part in the investigation?
No. It is about Trump’s indefensible act of withholding an appropriation of Congress, vital to our foreign policy interests, for political gain. It may also be about obstruction of justice in this investigation related to this act, and others.

These hearings are in secret so that, like in a Grand Jury investigation, witnesses that may be called don’t know what other witnesses have said. But what does secret mean? Well, there are a good number of Republicans hearing testimony and answering questions. Do you think YOU should know?
The step after this is to call back witnesses with relevant information for public hearings. These will take a much shorter time, because the investigating is done and the witnesses will be asked pointed questions, distilled from hours of depositions.
The Republicans, my former party, the party of morals and ethics and law and order, seem to not want this investigation to play out to it’s conclusion.

Its surprising how emotional responses seem to (in my opinion) outweigh understanding of the Constitution by both Trump supporters and detractors.
There is no trial presided by Schiff, nor will there ever be. The House does not hold Impeachment Trials, the Senate does. The House does pass Articles of Impeachment to move forward to the Senate for trial. But Impeachment Proceedings are not a trial, nor does an Impeachment Inquiry require a vote. Its merely an oversight function to determine if the House leadership wants to bring forward an Impeachment Proceeding along with a required vote.
At the trial, and during the argumentation phase of the House’s actual Impeachment Proceedings, “secret” (as long as there is no impact on National Security) hearings will become very public, and the actual trial in the Senate will be quite public.
Those quick to either make claims that current House actions prove guilt, or are a trial process (secret or not), may not clearly understand (again in my opinion) the big picture.

Napolitano in the clip in post#49 makes this clear.
No lawyer has a witness present public testimony before they are first deposed in private. This private deposition also happened in the impeachment proceedings against nixon and Clinton. The difference here is that the questioning is being done not just by committee lawyers but but with all committee members present and alllowed to ask questions without limit.

So do you acknowledge that there are 48 Republicans and their team of lawyers at the so-called “Secret Trial”. That they are allowed to ask questions without limitation, and that this isn’t a trial at all, but private deposition before public testimony - a process that is totally unexceptional? I just want ot know if there is agreement on the fundamental, seemingly indisputable facts.
