True by and large. However, the Dems are poisoning the well, so to speak. The Senate going in, is now likely adopting the attitude of “to hell with this impeachment” because of how the Democrats are handling things from an objective perspective. Most of us can relate. If you feel you are being railroaded, regardless of guilt or not, you are likely to dismiss the entire process. It is kind of like (but not legally the same thing) as gathering evidence to convict illegally or without a warrant. There is a reason why evidence is often tossed out in those cases, because the process is intended to be fair. I realize this is not a trial but an impeachment inquiry, but not being above board and acting with integrity, the Democrats are giving the Republicans and the President every out they need. So fair or not, I don’t blame the Senate for saying “the hell with you” to the House before it ever begins. That is human nature, and the Dems have only themselves to blame if that happens.
