Please include the Orthodox Church in your explanation since in my view, the Catholic Church under the Pope and the Orthodox Churches under the Patriachs remains truly one Church separated by historical events.

Well, when Jesus established His Church with The Apostles, were the Apostles co-leaders with Jesus or was Jesus the Head of The Church?
Now, did anything change when Jesus left The Apostles?

I agree with you that the Church today is not being ran exectly how Jesus. If Jesus is still with us personally leading His Church, do you think He will still be doing the same way during the 1st century? It is certainly not. His approach will always be updated in the current situation. I mean, he uttered the words 2000 years ago without the issue on abortion, nuclear weapon, sex change, genetic engineering and so much more. However, we will agree that He will be doing the right way.
Unfortunately, his ministry last only three years. do you think he did not anticipated the issues i mentioned? I know you will say that He is all knowing God. He saw it coming.
How the church is being ran today is the result of developent. We dont stop at year 63AD, we have to move on as well as the Church that He established. I dont know but the pornoucemant of the succesors of St. Peter is being noted all over the world. Christians and non-Christians alike!

I like the idea! Let us remind ourselves that our Faith teaches us not to focus only in getting into heaven which is after life on earth. Heaven starts here and now. What in store for us in heaven are also available on earth. Why?
Beacause we know in heaven, people love one another, no greed, no envy nor suffering. People know only love for God and brothers and sisters. Do you think these things are not possible here on earth? Heaven is here on earth. We have one common enemy that keeps us to realize this!

It sure looks that way, what else could it mean? The head of the Orthodox Church is called the “First Among Equals”. Isn’t the Pope, technically the ‘First Among Equals" in the Catholic Church? ” Maybe one of our Orthodox brothers can explain the difference.
This gives me hope that we might be closer to reuniting than I had previously thought. If the Orthodox Church can accept the concept of leader and the necessity of unity and a “chain of command”, maybe they are ready to once again accept a “Pope: instead of a “First Among Equals” as the leader of one Church. We can only hope. ******.
